Spectral features and antibacterial properties of Cu-doped ZnO nanoparticles prepared by sol-gel method

Zn（1-x）Cux O（x=0.00, 0.01, 0.03, and 0.05） nanoparticles are synthesized via the sol-gel technique using gelatin and nitrate precursors. The impact of copper concentration on the structural, optical, and antibacterial properties of these nanoparticles is demonstrated. Powder x-ray diffraction investigations have illustrated the organized Cu doping into ZnO nanoparticles up to Cu concentration of 5%（x = 0.05）. However, the peak corresponding to CuO for x= 0.01 is not distinguishable. The images of field emission scanning electron microscopy demonstrate the existence of a nearly spherical shape with a size in the range of 30–52 nm. Doping Cu creates the Cu–O–Zn on the surface and results in a decrease in the crystallite size. Photoluminescence and absorption spectra display that doping Cu causes an increment in the energy band gap. The antibacterial activities of the nanoparticles are examined against Escherichia coli（Gram negative bacteria）cultures using optical density at 600 nm and a comparison of the size of inhibition zone diameter. It is found that both pure and doped ZnO nanoparticles indicate appropriate antibacterial activity which rises with Cu doping.

To investigate the potential effects of wastewater sludge and sludge biochar on growth, yield and metal bioaccumulation of cherry tomato （Lycopersicon esculentum L.）, a pot experiment was carried out under greenhouse environment with three different treatments, control soil （CP）, soil with wastewater sludge （SS） and soil with sludge biochar （SB）, to reveal the comparative effect between the amendments of wastewater sludge and sludge biochar. The soil used for pot experiment was Chromosol. Wastewater sludge and sludge biochax produced through pyrolysis process at 550 ℃ were applied at 10 t ha-1. No significant difference was found in growth and production of cherry tomatoes between wastewater sludge and sludge biochar applications to the soil. The accumulation rates of metals in the fruits were lower in the treatment with sludge biochar than in the treatment with wastewater sludge. The study highlights the benefits of risk mitigation from toxic metal accumulation in fruits using wastewater sludge and sludge biochar as soil conditioners.

In this paper, an event-triggered sliding mode control approach for trajectory tracking problem of nonlinear input affine system with disturbance has been proposed. A second order robotic manipulator system has been modeled into a general nonlinear input affine system. Initially, the global asymptotic stability is ensured with conventional periodic sampling approach for reference trajectory tracking. Then the proposed approach of event-triggered sliding mode control is discussed which guarantees semi-global uniform ultimate boundedness. The proposed control approach guarantees non-accumulation of control updates ensuring lower bounds on inter-event triggering instants avoiding Zeno behavior in presence of the disturbance. The system shows better performance in terms of reduced control updates, ensures system stability which further guarantees optimization of resource usage and cost. The simulation results are provided for validation of proposed methodology for tracking problem by a robotic manipulator. The number of aperiodic control updates is found to be approximately 44% and 61% in the presence of constant and time-varying disturbances respectively.

In this paper,the performance of a mobile wireless communication network operating over the fisher-Snedecor J composite fading channel is ***,a multi-antenna base station transmits information to a single-antenna mobile receiver,which employs the maximal-ratio transmission technique to improve the quality of the received *** well-known random waypoint mobility model is assumed to characterize the mobility of the *** this mobility scenario,we derive exact closed-form expressions for the probability density function,cumulative distribution function,and consequently for the Outage Probability(OP),the average Bit Error Rate(BER)for different digital modulation schemes,and the average channel *** shed light into the impact of different channel parameters,simple asymptotic expressions at the high SNR regime are obtained for the OP and average *** validate our analytical expressions,the comprehensive Monte-Carlo simulations are conducted under various configurations and both results are in excellent agreement.

The influences of thermal annealing on the structural and optical features of radio frequency（rf） magnetron sputtered self-assembled Ge quantum dots（QDs） on Si（100） are *** oriented structures of Ge along the（220） and（111） directions together with peak shift and reduced strain（4.9%to 2.7%） due to post-annealing at 650 ℃ are discerned from x-ray differaction（XRD） *** force microscopy（AfM） images for both pre-annealed and post-annealed（650 ℃） samples reveal pyramidal-shaped QDs（density - 0.26×10^11 cm^-2） and dome-shape morphologies with relatively high density - 0.92×10^11 cm^-2,*** shape transformation is attributed to the mechanism of inter-diffusion of Si in Ge interfacial intermixing and strain *** annealing temperature assisted QDs structural evolution is explained using the theory of nucleation and growth kinetics where free energy minimization plays a pivotal *** observed red-shift - 0.05 eV in addition to the narrowing of the photoluminescence peaks results from thermal annealing,and is related to the effect of quantum ***,the appearance of a blue-violet emission peak is ascribed to the recombination of the localized electrons in the Ge-QDs/SiO2 or GeOx and holes in the ground state of Ge *** spectra of both samples exhibit an intense Ge-Ge optical phonon mode which shifts towards higher frequency compared with those of the bulk *** experimental Raman profile is fitted to the models of phonon confinement and size distribution combined with phonon confinement to estimate the mean dot sizes.A correlation between thermal annealing and modifications of the structural and optical behavior of Ge QDs is *** growth of Ge QDs with superior properties suitable for optoelectronic applications is demonstrated.

In this study,CoCrfeNiTi0.5Alx high‐entropy alloys were produced by induction melting and their dry sliding wear behavior was examined at different *** addition to face‐centered cubic(fCC)phases,low amounts of a tetragonal phase were detected in the microstructures of alloys without Al and microscratches were formed by wear particles on the worn surfaces of the alloy *** body‐centered cubic(BCC)phases were detected in the alloy with 0.5Al and a fatigue‐related extrusion wear mechanism was detected on the worn *** alloy specimen with a high Al content exhibited the best wear *** wear tracks were formed in single‐phase BCC intermetallic alloys at room temperature and they exhibited a higher wear strength at high temperatures when compared to other samples.

A protective action of melatonin(MELAT)on docetaxel(DCT)-induced inflammation,apoptosis,and reactive free oxygen radical(fROS)generation values via blocking of TRPM2 calcium-permeable channel was investigated in different cells except for laryngo-tracheal epithelial(LT-Epi)***,the protective action ofMELAT on DCT-induced oxidative toxicity and inflammation in LT-Epi tissue and cells of mice were investigated in the current *** treatment ameliorated DCTinduced mitochondrial ROS in the LT-Epi cells by reducing the generation of fROS(cytosolic and mitochondrial),lipid peroxidation,and depolarization of the mitochondrial membrane,while increasing reduced glutathione(GSH),GSH peroxidase,and total antioxidant *** addition,DCT-induced increases of cytokine(IL-1β,IL-6,and TNf-α)generations were also diminished in the LT-Epi tissue by MELAT ***,MELAT treatment increased viability and count of the cells followed by decreasing levels of cell death,caspase-3,*** TRPM2 activity was also reduced by MELAT and TRPM2 channel blocker(ACA)*** conclusion,MELAT modulated the increase of DCT-induced LT-Epi cell death by inhibiting mitochondrial oxidative stress and TRPM2 channel ***,DCTcaused side cell death,oxidant,and inflammatory actions in the LT-Epi were diminished via the treatment of MELAT.

following surface rupture observations in populated areas affected by the kahramanmaraşEarthquake(Mw 7.7)on february 6th,2023,along the Pazarcık segment of the East Anatolian fault Zone(EAfZ),this study presents novel insights into physical criteria for delineating surface fault-rupture hazard zones(SRHZs)along ruptured strike-slip *** achieve this objective,three trench studies across the surface rupture were conducted on the Pazarcık segment of the EAfZ to collect field data,and earthquake recurrence intervals were interpreted using Bayesian statistics from previously conducted paleoseismological *** results of the proposed model indicate that the Pazarcık segment produced five significant surface-rupturing earthquakes in the last∼11 kyr:E1:11.13±1.74 kyr,E2:7.62±1.20 kyr,E3:5.34±1.05 kyr,E4:1.82±0.93 kyr,and E5:0.35±0.11 *** addition,the recurrence intervals of destructive earthquakes on the subject in question range from 0.6 kyr to 4.8 *** that the last significant earthquake occurred in 1513,the longest time since the most recent surface fault rupturing earthquake on this particular segment was 511 *** results indicate that,in terms of the theoretical recurrence interval of earthquakes that can create surface ruptures on the Pazarcık segment,the period in which the february 6,2023,earthquake occurred was within the end of the expected return *** a result,the potential for a devastating earthquake in the near future is not foreseen on the same ***,the SRHZ proposed for the Pazarcık section of Gölbaşıvillage was calculated as a 61-meter-wide offset on the fault lineament to reduce the negativities that may occur in the ruptured area in the *** is recommended to take into account this width in the settlement of this area and nearby areas.
