This work describes an improved feature extractor algorithm to extract the peripheral features of point x(ti,fj) using a nonlinear algorithm to compute the nonlinear time spectrum (NL-TS) pattern. The algo- rithm observes n×n neighborhoods of the point in all directions, and then incorporates the peripheral fea- tures using the Mel frequency cepstrum components (MFCCs)-based feature extractor of the Tsinghua elec- tronic engineering speech processing (ThEESP) for Mandarin automatic speech recognition (MASR) sys- tem as replacements of the dynamic features with different feature combinations. In this algorithm, the or- thogonal bases are extracted directly from the speech data using discrite cosime transformation (DCT) with 3×3 blocks on an NL-TS pattern as the peripheral features. The new primal bases are then selected and simplified in the form of the ?dp- operator in the time direction and the ?dp- operator in the frequency di- t f rection. The algorithm has 23.29% improvements of the relative error rate in comparison with the standard MFCC feature-set and the dynamic features in tests using ThEESP with the duration distribution-based hid- den Markov model (DDBhMM) based on MASR system.

The effect of silica fume on the fresh and hardened properties of fly ash-based self-compacting geopolymer concrete （SCGC） was investigated in this paper. The work focused on the concrete mixes with a fixed water-to-geopolymer solid （W/Gs） ratio of 0.33 by mass and a constant total binder content of 400 kg/m3. The mass fractions of silica fume that replaced fly ash in this research were 0wt%, 5wt%, 10wt%, and 15wt%. The workability-related fresh properties of SCGC were assessed through slump flow, V-funnel, and L-box test methods. hardened concrete tests were limited to compressive, splitting tensile and flexural strengths, all of which were measured at the age of 1, 7, and 28 d after 48-h oven curing. The results indicate that the addition of silica fume as a partial replacement of fly ash results in the loss of workability; nevertheless, the mechanical properties of hardened SCGC are significantly improved by incorporating silica fume, especially up to 10wt%. Applying this percentage of silica fume results in 4.3% reduction in the slump flow; however, it increases the compressive strength by 6.9%, tensile strength by 12.8% and flexural strength by 11.5%.

Prazosin（PRZ） and levonorgestrel（LNG） are widely used as an anti-disease drugs due to their biological activity in the human body. The frequent detection of these compounds in water samples requires alternative technologies for the removal of both compounds. After electrochemical degradation of PRZ and LNG, the parent compounds could be completely removed after treatment, but the identification and characterization of by-products are necessary as well. In this study, the effects of NaCl concentration and applied voltage were investigated during the electrochemical degradation process. The results revealed that the increase of NaCl concentration and applied voltage could promote the generation of hypochlorite OCl-and then enhance the degradation of PRZ and LNG. After initial study, 6 V and 0.2 g NaCl were selected for further experiments（96% and 99% removal of PRZ and LNG after 40 min, respectively）. Energy consumption was also evaluated and calculated for PRZ and LNG at 3, 6 and 8 V. Solid phase extraction（SPE） method plays an important role in enhancing the detection limit of by-products. Furthermore, characterization and identification of chlorinated and non-chlorinated by-products were conducted using an accurate liquid chromatography-time of flight/mass spectrometry LC-TOF/MS instrument. The monitoring of products during the electrochemical degradation process was performed at6 V and 0.2 g NaCl in a 50 m L solution. The results indicated that two chlorinated products were formed during the electrochemical process. The toxicity of by-products toward E. coli bacteria was investigated at 37°C and 20 hr incubation time.

In this letter, variational homotopy perturbation method (VhPM) has been studied to obtain solitary wave solutions of modified Camassa-holm and Degasperis-Procesi equations. The results show that the VhPM is suitable for solving nonlinear differential equations with fully nonlinear dispersion term. The travelling wave solution for above equation compared with VIM, hPM, and exact solution. Also, it was shown that the present method is effective, suitable, and reliable for these types of equations.

Cooling heat flux effect in both primary and secondary cooling zone has been studied in semi-continuous casting of copper billet. Sufficient cooling is essential to reduce casting defects and to get high productivity, however low rate of solidification is aimed in order to get coarser grain size and softer metal for less losses in extrusion. A three-dimensional numerical model has been developed including solidification behavior of copper through mushy zone. At steady state and constant casting speed, solid shell thickness is monitored during the reduction of cooling rate at mould region to avoid breaking out. heat flux intensity at mould plays important role not only in the formation of solid shell thickness. But, pool length and mushy zone thickness can be significantly increased by decreasing primary cooling intensity. Increase intensity of secondary cooling zone for two particular cases of primary cooling is tested. First case is tested at mould inlet water temperature of 38°C, and second case at water temperature of 63°C. Results showed that the combination of increasing secondary cooling intensity and reduction of primary cooling intensity can increase pool length and mushy zone thickness. Also, it is shown that, secondary cooling intensity can be magnified by up to 1.5 times for cooling water temperature of 63°C to get pool length close to that of water temperature of 38°C.

In this article, the application of variational homotopy perturbation method is applied to solve Benjamin-Bona-Mahony equation. Then, we obtain the numerical solution of BBM equation using the initial condition. Comparison with Adomian’s decomposition method, homotopy perturbation method, and with the exact solution shows that VhPM is more effective and accurate than ADM and hPM, and is reliable and manageable for this type of equation.

The main purpose of the work reported in this paper was to study the electrical properties in PbTe films of thickness 250 nm deposited on clean class substrates held at room temperature in a vacuum of 10-5 mbar prepared by thermal evaporation technique and annealed at different temperatures. Electrical properties of the films were determined by electrical conductivity, hall coefficient and seebeck coefficient measurements. The d. c conductivity of the as deposited and annealed films was determined within the range of 313-483 K. The activation energies (Ea) of the films increased as the films underwent annealing, The hall and thermoelectric power measurements showed that the films conductivity is n-type for all films which indict that the majority of charge carriers are electrons, except film annealed at temperature equal to 423 K where the film exhibits p-type. The carrier concentration (nh) decreases with increasing Ta while hall mobility (?h) increases with increasing Ta. The seebeck coefficient and activation energy (ES) of the films with different Ta have been investigated.

The photosynthetic bacteria, Rodospirillum rubrum, produced hydrogen when grown in cheese whey in presence of light. The production increased three times as much when whey was used after being incubated in presence of Escherichia coli at 37℃ for 5 days, giving a total of 3600 ml of h2 in 10 days. The presence of Fe ions (5 mg/L) enhanced h2 production of treated whey to about 6000 ml in 10 days. Mo ions (0.3 and 1.6 mg/l) did not affect achieved h2 production of treated whey. however, when Fe and Mo ions were present together, the production was comparable with that of Mo ions alone, i.e. Mo prevented Fe of producing any enhancing effect. The addition of Mn ions (7.68 mg/L) to treated whey containing Fe (5 mg/L) and Mo ions (8 mg/L) increased h2 production to give about 9500 ml/10 days.
