This paper presents a performance study of silicon-based multi-junction (MJ) solar cell which is produced by Spectrolab is the most efficient solar cell in the world, with a record efficiency of over 40%. The I-V characteristics of solar cells were investigated for different environmental conditions (both at indoor and outdoor). Photovoltaic (PV) parameters like short circuit current (ISC), open circuit voltage (VOC), fill factor (FF) and efficiency (?) were evaluated for the fabricated cell. The fabricated cell provides I-V characteristics curve which shows that the maximum efficiency of the cell is obtained when the cell temperature is lower. It was also observed that, efficiencies of the cells are about 17% to 24% at indoor and 7% to 20% at outdoor and fill factors are 0.40 to 0.71. From the result, it can also be found that fill factor is directly affected by the values of the cells series and shunt resistance.

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, first identified in 2019. The primary mode of transmission is through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Symptoms can range from mild to severe, and timely diagnosis is crucial for effective treatment. Chest X-Ray imaging is one diagnostic tool used for COVID-19, and a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is a popular technique for image classification. In this study, we proposed a CNN-based approach for detecting COVID-19 in chest X-Ray images. The model was trained on a dataset containing both COVID-19 positive and negative cases and evaluated on a separate test dataset to measure its accuracy. Our results indicated that the CNN approach could accurately detect COVID-19 in chest X-Ray images, with an overall accuracy of 97%. This approach could potentially serve as an early diagnostic tool to reduce the spread of the virus.

The Internet provides a large number of tools and resources, such as social media sites, online newsgroups, blogs, electronic forums, virtual communities, and online travel sites, for consumers to express their views or opinions regarding various issues. These opinions can help organizations like tourism to improve their products and services for their consumers. Opinion mining refers to a process of identifying emotions by applying Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to a pool of texts. This paper mainly focuses on mining public opinion from the hotel reviews domain. To do so, we proposed a novel technique called the Attention-Based Long Short Term Memory (Attention-LSTM) Network using a transfer learning approach. We empirically analyzed several machine learning and deep learning methods and observed our proposed technique provided an adequate performance for mining public opinion in the hotel reviews domain.

The demand for cloud computing has increased manifold in the recent *** specifically,on-demand computing has seen a rapid rise as organizations rely mostly on cloud service providers for their day-to-day computing *** cloud service provider fulfills different user requirements using virtualization-where a single physical machine can host multiple *** virtualmachine potentially represents a different user environment such as operating system,programming environment,and ***,these cloud services use a large amount of electrical energy and produce greenhouse *** reduce the electricity cost and greenhouse gases,energy efficient algorithms must.be *** specific area where energy efficient algorithms are required is virtual machine *** virtualmachine consolidation,the objective is to utilize the minimumpossible number of hosts to accommodate the required virtual machines,keeping in mind the service level agreement *** research work formulates the virtual machine migration as an online problem and develops optimal offline and online algorithms for the single host virtual machine migration problem under a service level agreement constraint for an over-utilized *** online algorithm is analyzed using a competitive analysis *** addition,an experimental analysis of the proposed algorithm on real-world data is conducted to showcase the improved performance of the proposed algorithm against the benchmark *** proposed online algorithm consumed 25%less energy and performed 43%fewer migrations than the benchmark algorithms.

Pre-Application Evaporation of Surgical Preparation Solutions: Does It Matter?

Introduction: Surgical site infections (SSIs) remain the most common health care associated infections in the surgical population. Preoperative surgical preparation solutions containing alcohol are believed to be best at eradicating skin microorganisms. The efficacy of alcohol is concentration dependant, with a concentration of greater than 60% most bactericidal. Surgical antisepsis guidelines do not stipulate how long alcoholic preparation solutions can be left out prior to use. Method: 30 ml of Alcoholic Iodine (Iodine 1% in Alcohol 70% (v/v)) and Alcoholic Chlorhexidine (Chlorhex-idine 2% in Alcohol 70% (v/v)) were left to stand in gallipots in an operating theatre equipped with laminar flow. Sam-ples were taken at 0, 30, 60 and 120 minutes and the alcohol content was analyzed. The experiment was repeated 3 times for each time interval. Results: The Alcoholic Iodine group demonstrated significant decrease in alcohol concen-tration, from a mean of 76% (SD 3.6) to a mean of 37.7% (SD 2.9) in only 30 minutes. This effect was sustained, reaching a mean concentration of 26% (SD 2.9) alcohol at 120 minutes. The Alcoholic Chlorhexidine group did not exhibit the same degree of concentration drop, the concentration dropped marginally to 71.5% (SD 2.7) at 120 minutes from 83.4% (SD 0.4). Conclusion: Alcoholic Iodine exhibits significant evaporation under operating room conditions after 30 minutes. Alcoholic Chlorhexidine does not appear to undergo similar losses in concentration. We recommend that alcoholic surgical preparation solutions must.be poured immediately prior to use, and must.be discarded if left un-covered for more than a few minutes.
