In vitro analysis on bactericidal screening and antioxidant potentiality of leaf and root extracts of Thottea siliquosa(Lam.)Ding *** ethnobotanical plant

CeAlPO-5分子筛催化剂上二苯基甲烷选择性氧化生成二苯甲酮(英文)

Selective oxidation of diphenylmethane to benzophenone requires active and selective catalysts. The framework incorporation of cerium in AlPO-5 molecular sieves creates active cerium sites in isolation. These active sites are responsible for selective oxidation. Cerium incorporated AlPO-5 with different Al/Ce ratios were synthesized, and the vapor phase oxidation of diphenylmethane in air over these catalysts was studied at 250, 275, 300, 325, and 350 °C. The diphenylmethane conversion and selectivity for benzophenone were more than 90%. CeAlPO-5(25) was found to be more active than other catalysts. The stability of the catalyst was verified by the time on stream study which indicated steady diphenylmethane conversion and benzophenone selectivity. Hence framework incorporated CeAlPO-5 molecular sieves are stable and active catalysts for the selective oxidation of diphenylmethane.

Organic-inorganic hybrid fluorescent sensor thin films of rhodamine B embedded Ag-SBA 15 for selective recognition of Hg(Ⅱ)ions in water

Nowadays, the rapid and effective detection of low doses of heavy metal pollutants in contaminated water is a timely challenge in environmental pollution research. In this study, a rapid and highly sensitive assay for the detection of Hg^2＋based on quenching of metal-enhanced fluorescence of rhodamine B（RB）has been fabricated. RB and silver nanoparticle were incorporated into the mesoporous siliceous framework spin cast on a quartz glass through post-synthetic incorporation method. The morphology and crystallinity of mesoporous structure and Ag nanoparticle were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analyses. Photoluminescence assays on the hybrid thin film of RB-Ag-SBA15 showed a high enhancement when compared to the intensity of silver free SBA15-RB in the wavelength of 575 nm. The fluorescence of RB-Ag-SBA15 thin film decreased gradually with the increase in the concentration of Hg^2＋and the detection limits were 10.54 nmol/L. Furthermore, the fluorescence intensity increased linearly with the concentration of Hg^2＋in the range from 1.0 ×10^-8mol/L to10× 10^-8mol/L, with a response time of a few seconds. In addition, this system offers a high selectivity over interfering cations such as Cd^2＋ and Pb^2＋. Overall, we have developed an optical assay having a wellordered mesoporous SBA15 containing Ag-RBfor selective detection of Hg^2＋in aqueous solution. The scheme combines the advantages of specific binding interactions between Hg^2＋and RB molecule and optical emission properties of RB. The method is suitable for a single-shot and irreversible analytical assay in a quartz glass/microtiter plate.

Deep Learning for Wind Speed Forecasting Using Bi-LSTM with Selected Features

Wind speed forecasting is important for wind energy *** the modern era,the increase in energy demand can be managed effectively by fore-casting the wind speed *** main objective of this research is to improve the performance of wind speed forecasting by handling uncertainty,the curse of dimensionality,overﬁtting and non-linearity *** curse of dimensionality and overﬁtting issues are handled by using Boruta feature *** uncertainty and the non-linearity issues are addressed by using the deep learning based Bi-directional Long Short Term Memory(Bi-LSTM).In this paper,Bi-LSTM with Boruta feature selection named BFS-Bi-LSTM is proposed to improve the performance of wind speed *** model identiﬁes relevant features for wind speed forecasting from the meteorological features using Boruta wrapper feature selection(BFS).Followed by Bi-LSTM predicts the wind speed by considering the wind speed from the past and future time *** proposed BFS-Bi-LSTM model is compared against Multilayer perceptron(MLP),MLP with Boruta(BFS-MLP),Long Short Term Memory(LSTM),LSTM with Boruta(BFS-LSTM)and Bi-LSTM in terms of Root Mean Square Error(RMSE),Mean Absolute Error(MAE),Mean Square Error(MSE)and *** BFS-Bi-LSTM surpassed other models by producing RMSE of 0.784,MAE of 0.530,MSE of 0.615 and R2 of *** experimental result shows that the BFS-Bi-LSTM produced better forecasting results compared to others.

Comparative Study on the Corrosion Resistance of Al–Cr–Fe Alloy Containing Quasicrystals and Pure Al

Al-Cr-Fe alloy containing quasicrystals has been consolidated using spark plasma sintering（SPS）. Its corrosion resistance properties were comparatively investigated with pure Al by electrochemical methods in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. Their corrosion current density was also compared with that of three commercial steels-316 stainless steel, AISI 440C stainless steel and AISI H13 tool steel. Al-Cr-Fe alloy exhibits nobler corrosion potential and evident passivation with a potential range of around 150 mV while no passivation of pure Al sample is seen. The corrosion resistance of Al-Cr-Fe alloy is less than that of pure Al, but is close to that of 316 stainless steel and superior to that of AISI 440C stainless steel and AISI H13 tool steel.

Characterization and bacterial toxicity of lanthanum oxide bulk and nanoparticles

This study evaluated the bacterial toxicity of lanthanum oxide micron and nano sized particles using shake flask method against gram-positive （Staphylococcus aureus） and gram-negative （Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa） bacteria. Particle size, morphology and chemical composition were determined using scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDS）. Results indicated that lanthanum oxide nanoparticles showed antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, but not against Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It was speculated that lanthanum oxide produced this effect by interacting with the gram-positive bacterial cell wall. Furthermore, lanthanum oxide bulk particles were fotmd to enhance the pyocyanin pigment production in Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Purification,characterization and kinetics of protease inhibitor from fruits of Solanum aculeatissimum Jacq

Double-headed protease inhibitor was isolated,purified and characterized including its kinetics from the fruits of Solanum aculeatissimum Jacq.(SAPI).The inhibitor was purified to homogeneity via four sequential step procedure,i.e.,salt precipitation to Sepharose affinity *** purity was confirmed by reverse phase HPLC *** molecular mass was detected using size elution chromatography(22.2 kDa).SAPI inhibits trypsin and chymotrypsin simultaneously and the molar inhibitory ratio for trypsin and chymotrypsin was 1:1,i.e.,it functions as double headed PI of Bowman–Birk *** SAPI showed optimal specific activities of 502 and 433.7 U/mg with trypsin and chymotrypsin,***,the fold of purification increased with remarkable ***-PAGE showed four isoinhibitors(pI:4.7,5.2,5.6 and 5.9).Dixon plots and Lineweaver–Burk double reciprocal plots revealed competitive mode of *** pH amplitude(2–12)and broad temperature range(10–80◦C)were observed for *** dichroism spectrum of native SAPI displayed random structure with moreβ-***,metal ions,detergents,oxidizing and reducing agents affected the inhibitory potential of SAPI in different *** modification studies to analyze the key amino acid present in the reactive site of SAPI revealed the presence of lysine and tryptophan residue(s).

Role of friction stir welding parameters on tensile strength of AA6061-B_4C composite joints

Friction stir welding（FSW） is a solid state joining technique developed to join high strength aluminum alloys and various ceramic reinforced metal matrix composites（MMCs）.FSW produces sound welds in MMCs without any deleterious reaction between reinforcement and *** present work focused on the effect of FSW parameters on the tensile strength of Al-B4C composite *** central composite design of four factors and five levels was used to control the number of experiments.A mathematical model was developed to analyze the influence of FSW *** results indicated that the joint fabricated using rotational speed of 1000 r/min,welding speed of 1.3 mm/s,axial force of 10 kN and the reinforcement of 12% showed larger tensile strength compared with the other *** developed model was optimized to maximize the tensile strength using generalized reduced gradient *** metallographic analysis of the joints showed the presence of various zones such as weld nugget（WN） zone,thermo mechanically affected zone（TMAZ） and heat affected zone（HAZ）.The substantial grain refinement of aluminum matrix as well as significant size reduction of B4C particles was observed in the weld *** was plastically deformed,thermally affected and exhibited elongated aluminum grains.

Short-Term Effect of Nitrogen Intensification on Aggregate Size Distribution, Microbial Biomass and Enzyme Activities in a Semi-Arid Soil Under Different Crop Types

There is a lack of quantitative assessments available on the effect of agricultural intensification on soil aggregate distribution and microbial properties. Here, we investigated how short-term nitrogen(N) intensification induced changes in aggregate size distribution and microbial properties in a soil of a hot moist semi-arid region(Bangalore, India). We hypothesised that N intensification would increase the accumulation of macroaggregates > 2 mm and soil microbial biomass and activity, and that the specific crop plant sowed would influence the level of this increase. In November 2016, surface(0–10 cm) and subsurface(10–20 cm) soil samples were taken from three N fertilisation treatments, low N(50 kg N ha-1), medium N(75 and 100 kg N ha-1 for finger millet and maize, respectively),and high N(100 and 150 kg N ha-1 for finger millet and maize, respectively). Distribution of water-stable aggregate concentrations,carbon(C) and N dynamics within aggregate size class, and soil microbial biomass and activity were evaluated. The high-N treatment significantly increased the concentration of large macroaggregates in the subsurface soil of the maize crop treatment, presumably due to an increased C input from root growth. Different N fertilisation levels did not significantly affect C and N concentrations in different aggregate size classes or the bulk soil. High-N applications significantly increased dehydrogenase activity in both the surface soil and the subsurface soil and urease activity in the surface soil, likely because of increased accumulation of enzymes stabilised by soil colloids in dry soils. Dehydrogenase activity was significantly affected by the type of crop, but urease activity not. Overall, our results showed that high N application rates alter large macroaggregates and enzyme activities in surface and subsurface soils through an increased aboveground and corresponding belowground biomass input in the maize crop.
