The recently deployed Transition Region Explorer(TREx)-RGB(red-green-blue)all-sky imager(ASI)is designed to capture“true color”images of the aurora and *** the 557.7 nm green line is usually the brightest emission line in visible auroras,the green channel of a TREx-RGB camera is usually dominated by the 557.7 nm *** this rationale,the TREx mission does not include a specific 557.7 nm imager and is designed to use the RGB green-channel data as a proxy for the 557.7 nm *** this study,we present an initial effort to establish the conversion ratio or formula linking the RGB green-channel data to the absolute intensity of 557.7 nm auroras,which is crucial for quantitative uses of the RGB *** illustrate two approaches:(1)through a comparison with the collocated measurement of green-line auroras from the TREx spectrograph,and(2)through a comparison with the modeled green-line intensity according to realistic electron precipitation flux measurements from low-Earth-orbit satellites,with the aid of an auroral transport *** demonstrate the procedures and provide initial results for the TREx-RGB ASIs at the Rabbit Lake and Lucky Lake *** RGB response is found to be *** conversion ratios or formulas between RGB green-channel data and the green-line auroral intensity are given and can be applied immediately by TREx-RGB data *** methodology established in this study will also be applicable to the upcoming SMILE ASI mission,which will adopt a similar RGB camera system in its deployment.

The issue of opacity within data-driven artificial intelligence(AI)algorithms has become an impediment to these algorithms’extensive utilization,especially within sensitive domains concerning health,safety,and high profitability,such as chemical engineering(CE).In order to promote reliable AI utilization in CE,this review discusses the concept of transparency within AI utilizations,which is defined based on both explainable AI(XAI)concepts and key features from within the CE *** review also highlights the requirements of reliable AI from the aspects of causality(i.e.,the correlations between the predictions and inputs of an AI),explainability(i.e.,the operational rationales of the workflows),and informativeness(i.e.,the mechanistic insights of the investigating systems).Related techniques are evaluated together with state-of-the-art applications to highlight the significance of establishing reliable AI applications in ***,a comprehensive transparency analysis case study is provided as an example to enhance ***,this work provides a thorough discussion of this subject matter in a way that—for the first time—is particularly geared toward chemical engineers in order to raise awareness of responsible AI *** this vital missing link,AI is anticipated to serve as a novel and powerful tool that can tremendously aid chemical engineers in solving bottleneck challenges in CE.

The aim of this study was to develop near infrared spectroscopy(NIRS)calibrations to predict quality parameters,dry matter(DM,g kg1)and crude protein(CP,g kg1 DM),in fresh un-dried *** of these parameters would enable more precise allocation of quality herbage to grazing *** ryegrass samples(n=1615)were collected over the 2017 and 2018 grazing seasons at Teagasc Moorepark to develop a NIRS calibration *** samples were collected for an independent validation dataset(n=197)during the 2019 grazing *** were scanned using a FOSS 6500 spectrometer at 2 nm intervals in the range of 1100~2500 nm and absorption was recorded as log 1/Reflec*** wet chemistry analysis was carried out for both parameters and the resultant data were calibrated against spectral data by means of modified partial least squares regression.A range of mathematical spectral treatments were examined for each calibration,which were ranked in order of standard error of prediction(SEP)and ratio of percent deviation(RPD).Best performing calibrations achieved high predictive precision for DM(R2=0.86 SEP=9.46 g kg1,RPD=2.60)and moderate precision for CP(R2=0.84 SEP=20.38 g kg1 DM,RPD=2.37).These calibrations will aid the optimisation of grassland management and the development of precision agricultural technologies.

The triple-junction solar cell is designed to exploit a wide range of the solar spectrum *** triple-layers consisting of GaInP/GaInAs/Ge,it is monolithically stacked,leading to high conversion *** describe and understand it’s operating behaviour,this paper presents a performance analysis of a triple-junction solar cell,based on estimation modelling.A model was developed to determine the performance characteristic of the solar ***,the J-V curve is characterising the performance of solar cells,which used to optimise and improve the design of the *** has been discussed the effects of thermal load related to cell temperature increases on the cell’s operating performance *** temperature increases from 25 to 125℃ have resulted variances,which causes a significant decrease in efficiency to approximately−17%,open circuit voltage by−15%and fill factor by−4.5%.On the other hand,the current density slightly increased by+5.5%.Finally,ought to consider the thermal management while designing and developing solar CPV technology;therefore,it’s significant to improve cell efficiency and to maintain cell integrity from thermal damage.

The desire for moieties that are multifunctional is becoming greater and more of a necessity as nanotechnology becomes synonymous with medicine. Cancer detection and therapy remains a global concern. Many experiments have been promising but have only had modest results in clinical trials. Therefore, researchers continue to look at the forefront of science to divulge suitable platforms to alleviate the negative consequences from cancer. Discussed in this thesis is a multifunctional platform that provides gene therapy, drug delivery, and molecular detection. By combining the promises of nanotechnology, aptamers, and DNA antisense, we present a moiety that can better fight and decipher cancer. Aptamers are single strands of DNA that can be made target specific to certain cell membranes. Their ability to detect molecular differences makes them attractive for delivering nanocargo to specific cells and as a molecular detection platform. In this thesis, the use of aptamers to guide antisense therapy, the cancer drug Doxorubicin, and nanoparticles has been analyzed. Furthermore, the third experiment studied the efficacy of creating a universal aptamer platform for detection through the use of hydrophobic dyes. Unfortunately, the project for the universal aptamer only provided humble results at best. The other two projects showed positive results.There is no denying the potential of antisense therapy for fighting diseases. Recently, epigenetics has received much attention. However, efficient delivery of genetic therapy remains elusive. This project investigates one route of delivering antisense therapy while also offering a targeted approach for delivery. Structurally, a spherical geometry has been shown to provide for an effective delivery of antisense.
