The zeolite synthesis using waste as silicon source is a promising low-cost process. Sugarcane bagasse ash is a hazardous solid waste generated in large amounts in the sugar industry. Thus, development of new procedures for its productive reuse is relevant. Therefore, this waste was used to prepare a new ZCNT (zeolite/carbon nanotube material). In this work, ZCNT was applied in a CO2/CH4 separation. The adsorption took place at 303 K under pressure of 0.1 until 20 bar and the data were fitted by Langmuir, Toth and Freundlich equations. The adsorbed amount at 20 bar found was 4.7 mmol of CO2/g and 4.1 mmol of CH4/g; at 3 bar the adsorbed amount was 4.1 mmol of CO2/g and 1.2 mmol of CH4/g. This result indicates that ZCNT has potential application in CO2/CH4 separation at low pressures.

New recycling alternative for multilayer films was successfully presented. Food packaging formed from different materials is difficult to recycle. The use of aluminum, glass, paper, paints, varnishes, and other materials in the rolling processes from plastic packaging is intended to optimize the efficiency of packaging. Nevertheless, these materials prevent the recycling of packaging because they become contaminants to the recycling process. Food multilayered packaging containing poly (ethylene terephthalate) PET, poly (ethylene) PE and aluminum was used as filler in the preparation of composites with post-consumer high density polyethylene matrix. Composites containing up to 50 wt% of filler were feasible to prepare, allowing the obtention of a material with varied mechanical and thermal properties. This feature allows the preparation of composites suitable for specific application. The addition of multilayer matter in the polyethylene matrix provided a material with excellent mechanical properties such as higher tensile impact strength (148 J/m) and elasticity (350 MPa) as compared to pure polyethylene (40 J/m and 450 MPa).

The micropropation is an important biotechnological tool for obtaining and maintaining mother vine plants with high quality plant health. The objective was to evaluate the establishment and multiplication in vitro and ex vitro acclimatization of grape genotypes with potential for Southern Brazil. Vine nodal segments were cultured in five culture medium formulations without adding growth regulators. It was evaluated the number of leaves and roots, length of roots and shoots, replication rate, relative chlorophyll index, percentage of regenerated and rooted plants, dry biomass of shoot, root and total plants grown in vitro and after acclimatization. In vitro propagation of IAC 571-6 rootstock and cv. Poloskei Muskotaly through nodal segments provided high rates of regeneration and rooting. High survival rates were obtained in the acclimatization of IAC 571-6 and P?l?skei Muskotaly. Considering all the variables, the culture medium Roubelakis showed the best growth rates and development for shoots and roots, and in vitro multiplication rate for IAC 571-6 and Poloskei Muskotaly grape varieties.
