Te(Ⅳ),Se(Ⅳ),V(Ⅲ),nb(Ⅴ)and Ta(Ⅴ)complexes of indole-3-acetic acid(IAAH)ligand were synthesized,characterized by elemental analysis and various spectroscopic techniques like,IR,1H-NMR,X-ray powder diffraction,UV-Visible,thermogravimetry analysis,magnetic measurements,molar conductance and surface morphology using *** the synthesized complexes of IAAH ligand have 1∶2 stoichiometry of the types[Te(IAA)2(NH 3)2]·2Cl(Ⅰ),[Se(IAA)2(NH 3)2]·2Cl(Ⅱ),[V(IAA)2(NH 3)(Cl)](Ⅲ),[nb(IAA)2(Cl)3](Ⅳ),and[Ta(IAA)2(Cl)3](Ⅴ).Spectral analysis indicates octahedral geometry for the Te(Ⅳ),Se(Ⅳ)and V(Ⅲ)complexes,whereas both nb(Ⅴ)and Ta(Ⅴ)have a *** bonding sites are the oxygen atoms of carboxylate group for the deprotonated indole-3-acetic acid(IAA)*** thermogravimetry analysis studies gave evidence for the presence of other coordinated molecules(Cl or NH 3)in the composition of IAA complexes,which were further supported by IR and micro analytical *** higher molar conductance data of tellurium and selenium(Ⅳ)complexes reveal that these chelates are electrolytes,while low conductivity values for the vanadium(Ⅲ),niobium and tantalum(Ⅴ)chelates indicated a *** test the antibacterial property of the five complexes in this study,four bacterial strains Klebsiella(G-),Escherichia coli(G-),Staphylococcus aureus(G+)and Staphylococcus epidermidis(G+)were used in the *** effects of the five complexes in the cytotoxicity of Caco-2 and Mcf-7 human cancer cell lines were studied Neutral red uptake assay for the estimation of cell viability/cytotoxicity protocol.

The aim of this study is to investigate the surface quality of the melt spinning wheel, which was changed from smooth type to textured structure, to atomize liquid metal to form powders. The effects of melt spinning process parameters like wheel speed, gas ejection pressure, molten metal temperature, nozzle–wheel gap and wheel surface quality on the morphological and microstructural features of 6060 aluminum alloy powders and ribbons were investigated. It was observed that ribbon type material was obtained with the smooth wheel and the powder was produced with textured type. The sizes of produced ribbons with smooth surface wheel varied in the range of 30-170 μm in thickness, 4-8 mm in width, and 0.5-1 m in length. The average powder size of the powders manufactured using the textured wheel was in the range of 161-274 μm, depending on the process *** the wheel speed, melt temperature and decreasing gas ejection pressure, nozzle-wheel gap resulted in the decrease of both ribbon thickness and powder size. The microstructures of the powders and ribbons were the equiaxed cellular type, and the average grain sizes diminished with decreasing the ribbon thickness and powder size. The maximum cooling rates were 2.00×10^5 and 1.26×10^4 K/s for the ribbon with thickness of 30 μm and for the powder with size of 87 μm, respectively.

Traumatic injuries to maxillary anterior teeth are a common finding in children because of falls while playing. Sequelae of trauma to dental hard tissue include broken, lost, aspirated and swallowed teeth. One additional hazard is the embedding of fractured tooth fragments in the soft tissues, particularly in the lip. A 10-year-old male patient complained of pain in the lower lip. There was a history of trauma to the upper anterior tooth 10 months previously. Clinical examination showed scarring and discoloration over the lower lip, and the presence of a hard mass was felt on palpation. Intraoral examination revealed an Ellis and Davey class II fracture of number 11. A radiograph of the lip was taken, which showed a radiopaque structure similar to the shape of the missing tooth fragment. Under local anesthesia, the tooth fragment was removed successfully, and the class II fracture was restored with composite. Therefore, proper clinical and complete radiographic examination of both hard and soft tissues following dental trauma is essential to rule out such occurrences.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which comprises ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, is characterized by inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. The trefoil factors 1, 2, and 3 (TFF1-3) are a family of peptides that play important roles in the protection and repair of epithelial surfaces, including the gastrointestinal tract. TFFs may be involved in IBD pathogenesis and are a potential treatment option. In the present review, we describe the TFF family and their potential role in IBD by summarizing the current knowledge of their expression, possible function and pharmacological role in IBD.

AIM:To investigate the effect of transjugular intra-hepatic porto-systemic shunt (TIPS) on malnutrition in portal hypertensive cirrhotic ***: Twenty-one patients with liver cirrhosis and clinical indications for TIPS insertion were investigated before and 1, 4, 12, 52 wk after TIPS. For each patient we assayed body composition parameters [dry lean mass, fat mass, total body water (TBW)], routine liver and kidney function tests, and free fatty acids (FFA). Glucose and insulin were measured for the calculation of the homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance (HOMA-IR); liver function was measured by the galactose elimination capacity (GEC); the severity of liver disease was graded by model for end-stage liver disease (MELD).RESULTS: Porto-systemic gradient decreased after TIPS (6.0±2.1 mmHg vs 15.8±4.8 mmHg, P<0.001). Patients were divided in two groups according to initial body mass index. After TIPS, normal weight patients had an increase in dry lean mass (from 10.9±5.9 kg to 12.7±5.6 kg, P=0.031) and TBW (from 34.5±7.6 L to 40.2±10.8 L,P=0.007), as well as insulin (from 88.9±49.2 pmol/L to 164.7±107.0 pmol/L,P=0.009) and HOMA-IR (from 3.36%±2.18% to 6.18%±4.82%,P=0.023). In overweight patients only FFA increased significantly (from 0.59±0.24 mmol/L to 0.93±0.34 mmol/L, P=0.023).CONCLUSION: TIPS procedure is effective in lowering portal pressure in patients with portal hypertension and improves body composition without significant changes in metabolic parameters.

The objective of this paper is to present results of numerical simulations for the flow over cavities modeling the scale structures on the upper surface of a typical butterfly wing. The numerical results,obtained using a vortex method, show that the dynamics of the flow are strongly dependent on the Reynolds number of the flow. The large coherent structures, formed in the cavity of adjoining scales, exhibit a stationary behaviour for low Reynolds number flows, while they exhibit strong dynamics and instabilities for high Reynolds number flows. The numerical results are in very good agreement with corresponding experimental results available in the literature.

BACKGROUND Progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis(PFIC)encompasses a group of autosomal recessive disorders with high morbidity and *** in the gene encoding tight junction protein-2(TJP2)have been linked to PFIC type 4(PFIC4),which predominantly presents in ***,there are only limited data from adults with TJP2-related *** report a family with an autosomal recessive disorder with a novel variant in the TJP2 gene in adults with very variable expression of *** SUMMARY The index patient presented at 19 years old with liver cirrhosis and variceal bleeding and was treated with endoscopic banding and *** 2018,he developed primary liver cancer that was treated with radiofrequency ablation followed by liver transplantation in *** testing revealed a novel homozygous TJP2 variant causing PFIC4(TJP2([NM_004817.3]:c.[3334C>T];[3334C>T])).The consanguineous family consists of the father and mother(both heterozygous)and their 12 children,of which five carry the variant in a homozygous state;however,these five siblings have highly variable expression of *** homozygous brothers had cirrhosis and portal hypertension at diagnosis at the ages of 19 and *** other homozygous brothers,age 23 and 19,and the homozygous sister,age 21,have elevated liver enzymes but presently no cirrhosis,which may suggest an age-dependent *** addition,five sisters had severe and mild intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy and carry the TJP2 variant in a homozygous and heterozygous state,*** This novel TJP2 variant is associated with PFIC4 causing severe liver disease with cirrhosis and primary liver cancer in adolescents/adults.
