Nematode identification serves as an important param-eter to study their behaviour,importance and pathogenic-ity.Application of classical morphometric based identifica-tion methods prove to be lacking due to insufficient knowledge on morphological variations among closely related taxa.Molecular approaches such as DNA and protein-based information,microarray,probing,sequence-based methods and others have been used to supplement morphology-based methods for nematode identification.Ascarosides and certain protein-based nematode-associated molecular patterns(NAMPs),can be perceived by the host plants,and can initiate a signalling cascade.This review primarily emphasizes on an updated account of different classical and modern tools used for the identification of nematodes.Besides we also summa-rize the mechanism of some important signalling pathways which are involved in the different plant nematode interactions.Nematodes constitute most diverse and least studied group of soil inhabiting invertebrates.They are ecologically and physiologically important,however,wide range of nematodes show harmful impact on the individuals that live within their vicinity.Plant parasitic nematodes(PPNs)are transparent,pseudocoelomate,free living or parasitic microorganisms.PPNs lack morphometric identification methods due to insufficient knowl-edge on morphological variations among closely related taxa.As such,molecular approaches such as DNA and protein-based information,microarray,probing,sequence-based methods and others have been used to supplement morphology-based methods for their identification.To invade the defense response of different plant species,parasitic nematodes have evolved different molecular strategies.Ascarosides and certain protein-based nematode-associated molecular patterns(NAMPs),can be perceived by the host plants,and can initiate a signaling cascade.To overcome the host confrontation and develop certain nematode feeding sites,some members can inject effectors into the cells of susceptible hosts to reprogram the

Türkiye is located in a seismically active region,where the Anatolian,African,and Arabian tectonic plates converge.High seismic hazards cause the region to be struck repeatedly by major earthquakes.On February 06,2023,a devastating M_(W)7.7 earthquake struck Türkiye at 01:17 am local time(01:17 UTC).In this regard,near and far-field ground motion data within the distance of 120 km are compiled and later characterized to identify the key ground motion intensity measures.Additionally,the vertical components of ground motions were examined to capture the complete three-dimensional nature of the seismic event.Moreover,the effect of Pulse-Like(PL)and Non-Pulse-Like(NPL)ground motion on a representative RC frame structure built as per the Türkiye code was investigated.The results indicate that PL behavior was observed in both horizontal and vertical components of ground motions and PL behavior were noted both near the epicenter and at higher distances from the epicenter.Moreover,the ratio of the peak vertical acceleration to peak horizontal acceleration at certain stations was found to be close to 1.Finally,the non-linear time history analysis of the representative reinforced concrete frame structure for ground motions recorded at stations located equidistant from the epicenter,indicated that PL ground motions led to more significant damage compared to NPL ground motions.

A comparative study of the Precambrian Sonakhan(SGB)and Mahakoshal(MGB)greenstones belts of Central India has been undertaken to decipher their provenance,paleoweathering,paleogeography,and tectonics.As compared to the Upper Continental Crust(UCC),the MGB samples are enriched while the SGB samples are depleted in mafic elements indicating the presence of mafic rocks in the source of the MGB.This is complemented by the Ni–Cr diagram.The REE concentrations,LREE fractionated patterns and negative Eu anomalies of the MGB and SGB samples indicate derivation of sediments from a highly fractionated granitic source.Since MGB samples also contain the geochemical signature of mafic rocks,it is,therefore proposed that the MGB clastic load were derived from two sources(mafic+felsic)with arc character.This is attested by Cr and Zr relationships,and LILE enrichment,and HFSE depletion.These features suggest that the SGB developed as autochthonous while the MGB developed as an allochthonous belt.The chemical alteration indices such as chemical index of alteration(CIA),plagioclase index of alteration(PIA),and index of compositional variability for MGB samples indicate that they were dominantly derived as the first cycle(with minor recycled)sediments from bimodal sources(dominantly continental arcs)by intense chemical weathering as compared to the SGB samples,which were derived from felsic sources(dominantly cratonic rocks),and partly by recycling through a low chemical weathering.The CIA and PIA values of the samples reveal a change in the climatic conditions from Late Archean to Late Paleoproterozoic.Such change is interpreted in terms of migration of the Indian plate from high latitudes in the Late Archean to lower latitudes during the Late Paleoproterozoic.This is consistent with the paleomagnetic data that placed India in the configuration of 2.45 Ga Ur and 1.78 Ga Columbia supercontinents.

Enhanced photocatalytic degradation of organic dyes from aqueous environment using neodymium-doped mesoporous layered double hydroxide

Neodymium-doped Zn-Al layered double hydroxide(Nd/Zn-Al LDH) with excellent photocatalytic activity was prepared by a one-step hydrothermal method. The morphology and physicochemical properties of as-synthesized photocatalysts were well analyzed by Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR), X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), photoluminescence(PL), UV-diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(UV-DRS), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)surface analysis. Doping Nd^(3+) into Zn-Al LDH enhances the overall catalytic activity of the nanocomposite, like better electron-hole pair separation, increase in interplanar distance, fast electron transfer, and large surface area. The as-prepared nanocomposite shows excellent degradation of three different dyes under visible light irradiation. The degradation efficiency of these dyes follows the order of Congo red > rose Bengal > fast green. Furthermore, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS)was employed to propose a possible photocatalytic degradation pathway for Congo Red and Rose Bengal dyes by Nd/Zn-Al LDH. With the help of radical trapping experiments, it is revealed that during the photoexcitation process, the primary reactive intermediates are hydroxyl radicals.

Influence of replacement of wheat flour by rice flour on rheo-structural changes, in vitro starch digestibility and consumer acceptability of low-gluten pretzels

This study aimed to access the influence of rice flour incorporation on various quality attributes of low-gluten wheat-based pretzels viz., functional, rheological, starch digestibility, color, textural and sensorial properties. Significant increase in swelling power (18.33 ± 0.51) and bulk density (0.58 ± 0.04) was observed in flour blend upon incorporation of rice flour, whereas, significant decrease in oil absorption capacity (0.62 ± 0.09), solubility index (6.72 ± 0.17), foaming capacity (9.67 ± 0.34), and foaming stability (3.39 ± 0.15) was recorded. Pasting properties of samples were studied using a Rapid Visco Analyser which indicated that all the pasting properties increased with an increase in rice flour incorporation. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic studies revealed no difference in the basic functional groups of flour blend upon the incorporation of rice flour, however, it had a pronounced effect on elastic modulus (G′) of flour blend. In vitro starch digestion characteristics revealed 7.23% surge in slowly digestible starch and 13.36% reduction in rapidly digestible starch of developed low-gluten pretzels upon the incorporation of rice flour. Apparent amylose content (27.3 ± 1.45) and resistant starch content (6.12 ± 0.97) increased and starch digestibility index (69.87 ± 1.72) decreased in developed low-gluten pretzels. In conclusion, the developed low-gluten pretzels had significantly (p < 0.05) higher mineral profile and lightness (L*) and lower breaking strength in addition to having better overall acceptability. This study indicated that substituting wheat flour with rice flour up to a level of 35% affected the quality attributes of developed low-gluten pretzels.

Aconitum heterophyllum(Patrees)is a critically endangered medicinal herb of the northwestern Himalayas and has enormous pharmacological potential.It is the only nonpoisonous member of the genus Aconitum,and has been used as a medicinal herb since ancient times.A.heterophyllum is an important ingredient in many traditional systems of medicine.Mostly,it is harvested for its roots,and its medicinal properties are due to the presence of diverse bioactive secondary metabolites,commonly known as aconites.Our understanding of the pharmacological properties of this intriguing genus is continuously growing due to its broad chemical diversity.The therapeutic uses identified by traditional medicinal practice are receiving extensive study.Multiple in vitro experimental investigations of A.heterophyllum have reported the analgesic,anti-inflammatory,antiarrhythmic,antiparasitic and anticancer properties,as well as its effects on the central nervous system.In this review,we highlight the classification,distribution,commerce,traditional uses,phytochemistry,pharmacology and conservation measures relevant to this species.Additionally,this review includes the biosynthetic pathways of A.heterophyllum’s key constituents,which could be targeted to enhance the expression levels of desired metabolites via genetic interventions.Studying the genomics,transcriptomics,proteomics and metabolomic aspects of this species would be helpful in developing highly designed genotypes and chemotypes of this species to be used in commercial production.

This paper presents an investigation on the self-focusing/defocusing of chirped Gaussian laser beam in collisional plasma with linear absorption. We have derived the differential equation for the beam width parameter by using WKB and paraxial approximations and solved it numerically. The effect of chirp and other laser plasma parameters is seen on the behavior of beam width parameter with dimensionless distance of propagation. The results are discussed and presented graphically. Our simulation results show that the amplitude of oscillations decreases with the distance of propagation. Due to collisional frequency, the laser beam shows fast divergence which can be minimized by the introduction of chirp parameter. The chirp decreases the effect of defocusing and increases the ability of self-focusing of laser beam in collisional plasma.

Improving hydrocarbons production via catalytic co-pyrolysis of torrefied-biomass with plastics and dual catalytic pyrolysis

To increase the low yield and selectivity of aromatic hydrocarbons during the biomass pyrolysis process,we torrefied the biomass and then co-pyrolyzing with plastics such as high-density polyethylene(HDPE),polystyrene(PS),ethylene-vinyl acetate(EVA)and polypropylene(PP)and also single and dual catalyst layouts were investigated by Py-GC/MS.The results showed that non-catalytic fast pyrolysis(CFP)of raw bagasse(RBG)generated no aromatics.After torrefaction non-CFP of torrefied bagasse(TBG)generated low aromatic yield.Indicating that torrefaction would enhance the proportion of aromatics during the pyrolysis process.The CFP of TBG_(200℃)and TBG_(240℃)over ZSM-5 produced the total aromatic yield of 1.96 and 1.88 times higher,respectively,compared to non-CFP of TBG.Furthermore,the addition of plastic could increase H/Ceff ratio of the mixture,consequently,increase the yield of aromatic compounds.Among the various torrefied-bagasse/plastic mixtures,the CFP of TBG/EVA(7:3 ratio)mixture generated the highest the total aromatic yield of 7.7 times more than the CFP of TBG alone.The dual catalyst layout could enhance the yield of aromatics hydrocarbons.The dual-catalytic co-pyrolysis of TBG_(200℃)/plastic(1:1)ratio over USY(ultra-stable Y zeolite)/ZSM-5,improved the total aromatics yield by 4.33 times more than the catalytic pyrolysis of TBG_(200℃)alone over ZSM-5 catalyst.The above results showed that the yield and selectivities of light aromatic hydrocarbons can be improved via catalytic co-pyrolysis and dual catalytic co-pyrolysis of torrefied-biomass with plastics.
