AIM： To clarify the innervation of the antro-pyloric region in humans from a clinico-anatomical perspective. METHODS： The stomach, duodenum and surrounding structures were dissected in 10 cadavers, and immersed in a 10mg/L solution of alizarin red S in ethanol to stain the peripheral nerves. The distribution details were studied to confirm innervations in the above areas using a binocular microscope. Similarly, innervations in 10 Suncus murinus were examined using the method of whole-mount imm unohistochemistry. RESULTS： The innervation of the pyloric region in humans involved three routes： One arose from the anterior hepatic plexus via the route of the suprapyloric/supraduodenal branch of the right gastric artery; the second arose from the anterior and posterior gastric divisions, and the third originated from the posterior-lower region of the pyloric region, which passed via the infrapyloric artery or retroduodenal branches and was related to the gastroduodenal artery and right gastroepiploic artery. For Suncus murinus, results similar to those in humans were observed. CONCLUSION： There are three routes of innervation of the pyloric region in humans, wherein the route of the right gastric artery is most important for preserving pyloric region innervation. Function will be preserved by more than 80% by preserving the artery in pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy （PPPD）. However, the route of the infrapyloric artery should not be disregarded. This route is related to several arteries （the right gastroepiploic and gastroduodenal arteries）, and the preserving of these arteries is advantageous for preserving pyloric innervation in PPPD. Concurrently, the nerves of Latarjet also play an important role in maintaining innervation of the antro-pyloric region in PPPD. This is why pyloric function is not damaged in some patients when the right gastric artery is dissected or damaged in PPPD.

AIM： To clarify the innervation of human gallbladder,with special reference to morphological understanding of gallstone formation after gastrectomy.METHODS： The liver, gallbladder and surrounding structures were immersed in a 10 mg/L solution of alizarin red S in ethanol to stain the peripheral nerves in cadavers （n = 10）. Innervation in the areas was completely dissected under a binocular microscope. Similarly,innervation in the same areas of 10 Suncus murinus （S. murinus） was examined employing whole mount immunohistochemistry.RESULTS： Innervation of the gallbladder occurred predominantly through two routes. One was from the anterior hepatic plexus, the innervation occurred along the cystic arteries and duct. Invariably this route passed through the hepatoduodenal ligament. The other route was from the posterior hepatic plexus, the innervation occurred along the cystic duct ventrally. This route also passed through the hepatoduodenal ligament *** results were obtained in S. murinus.CONCLUSION： The route from the anterior hepatic plexus via the cystic artery and/or duct is crucial for preserving gallbladder innervation. Lymph node dissection specifically in the hepatoduodenal ligament may affect the incidence of gallstones after ***, the route from the posterior hepatic plexus via the common bile duct and the cystic duct to the gallbladder should not be disregarded. Preservation of the plexus may attenuate the incidence of gallstone formation after gastrectomy.

OBJECTIVE:To examine whether specific stimulation of Shenshu(BL23)affects sympathetic nervous activity(SNA)-associated plasma renin concentration(PRC).METHODS:Eight healthy volunteers participated in three pattern conditions in random order:control(Cont),stimulation of Shenshu(BL23),and stimulation of sham point(Sham).All participants were initially in the supine position for>60 min,and then remained in the standing position during the experimental procedure to increase *** electrocardiogram was used to calculate low frequency/high frequency(LF/HF)ratio;blood was collected to analyze ***:The LF/HF ratio was significantly increased in the standing position when compared with the supine position(P<0.01).There was no difference in LF/HF ratio during or after stimulation of Shenshu(BL23)in the standing position when compared with before the stimulation in the supine position;however,the LF/HF ratio was significantly increased in Cont and Sham conditions(P<0.01).There was no difference in PRC after stimulation of Shenshu(BL23)in the standing position when compared with before the stimulation in the supine position;however,there was a significant increase in PRC in the Cont and Sham conditions(Cont P<0.05,Sham P<0.01).CONCLUSION:Our results demonstrated that specific acupuncture stimulation of Shenshu(BL23)in the standing position decreased SNA-associated PRC,which was not observed during acupuncture stimulation of the sham point.

Aim： To determine the biochemical effect of di-（2-ethylhexyl） phthalate （DEHP） on testes, liver, kidneys and pancreas on day 10 in the process of degeneration of the seminiferous epithelium. Methods： Diets containing 2% DEHP were given to male Crlj：CDI（ICR） mice for 10 days. The dose of DEHP was 0.90±0.52 mg/mouse/day. Their testes, livers, kidneys and pancreata were examined for detection of mono-（2-ethylhexyl） phthalate （MEHP）, nitrogen oxides （NOx） produced by peroxidation of nitric oxide （NO） with free radicals, and lipid peroxidation induced by the chain reaction of free radicals. Results： Histological observation and serum analysis showed the presence of severe sperrnatogenic disturbance, Leydig cell dysfunction, liver dysfunction and dehydration. Unexpectedly, the concentration of MEHP in the testes was extremely low compared with that in the liver. However, the concentration of the NOx in the testes was as high as the hepatic concentration. Furthermore, free radical-induced lipid peroxidation was histochemically detected in the testes but not in the liver. Conclusion： The results indicate that DEHP-induced aspermatogenesis is caused by the high sensitivity of the testicular tissues to MEHP rather than the specific accumulation or uptake of circulating MEHP into the testes.

Silica nanoparticles （SiNPs） have been widely engineered for biomedical applications, such as bioimaging and drug delivery, because of their high tunability, which allows them to perform specific functions. In this review, we discuss the functionalization and performance of SiNPs for nucleic acid delivery. Nucleic acids, including plasmid DNA （pDNA） and small interfering RNA （siRNA）, constitute the next generation molecular drugs for the treatment of intractable diseases. However, their low bioavailability requires delivery systems that can circumvent nuclease attack and kidney filtration to ensure efficient access to the target cell cytoplasm or nucleus. First, we discussed the biological significance of nucleic acids and the parameters required for their successful delivery. Next, we reviewed SiNP designing for nucleic acid delivery with respect to nucleic acid loading and release, cellular uptake, endosomal escape, and biocompatibility. In addition, we discussed the co-delivery potential of SiNPs. Finally, we analyzed the current challenges and future directions of SiNPs for advanced nucleic acid delivery.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of pre-cooling and fluid replacement with either crushed ice or cold ***: On 2 separate occasions, in a counterbalanced order, 9 recreationally-trained males ingested 1.25 g/kg(80–100 g) of either crushed ice(0.5℃)or cold water(4℃) every 5 min for 30 min before exercise. They also ingested 2.0 g/kg(130–160 g) of the same treatment drink at 15 min, 30 min, and45 min after the commencement of cycling to exhaustion at 60%VO_(2max) until voluntary exhaustion in a hot environment(35℃ and 30% relative humidity).Results: The cycling time to exhaustion in the crushed ice trial(50.0 ± 12.2 min) was longer than the cold water trial(42.2 ± 10.1 min; p = 0.02).Although the rectal temperature fell by 0.37℃± 0.03℃(p = 0.01) at the end of the resting period after the crushed ice ingestion, the rates of rise in rectal temperature during the exercise period were not significantly different between these 2 conditions(crushed ice: 0.23℃± 0.07℃, 5 min;cold water: 0.22℃± 0.07℃, 5 min; p = 0.94).Conclusion: Crushed ice ingestion before and during exercise in a hot environment may be a preferred and effective approach for minimizing thermal strain, and for improving endurance performance as compared with cold water ingestion.

Boninitic rocks and associated high-magnesian basalt and high-iron tholeiite in the Xiangcheng area constitute the basal horizon of the arc volcanic sequence in the Triassic Yidun Island-Arc, southwestern China. The boninite occurs as pillow, massive and ocellar lavas; the last one possesses well-developed globular structure and alternates with the former two. The boninite is characterized by the absence of phenocrysts of olivine and low-Ca pyroxenes and by low CaO/Al2O3 ratios (1000 ppm) and Ni (>250 ppm). The normalized abundance patterns (NAP) of trace elements to primitive mantle are similar to the NAP of low-Ca modern boninites and SHMB in the Archaean and Proterozoic.

Objectives:The relationship between eating and swallowing function,and lifestyle among community-dwelling elderly people has not been extensively *** study aimed to analyze the characteristics of eating and swallowing function and their association with the lifestyle among the ***:A self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted on 419 elderly people who participated in the oral function improvement project operated by the Community Comprehensive Support Center.A total of 288 valid responses(58 males,230 females,average age 73.6 years)were *** survey items included basic demographics,health status,lifestyle,and eating and swallowing *** chi-square(χ2)test was used to compare for a difference in the risk of ***:72 patients(25.0%)were judged to be at risk for dysphagia,and 216(75.0%)were judged to be not at risk for dysphagia using the revised dysphagia risk assessment *** mean score for oral preparatory dysphagia was the highest,while the mean score for pharyngeal dysphagia was the *** group at risk of dysphagia had significant difficulty in chewing and had bad sleep quality as compared to the group that was not at ***:Concerning the risk of dysphagia,there is a need to maintain and improve masticatory *** addition,improving the swallowing function of the elderly may prevent insomnia and improve sleep quality.
