2D MXene Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)Enhanced Plasmonic Absorption in Metasurface for Terahertz Shielding

With the advancement of technology,shielding for terahertz(THz)electronic and communication equipment is increasingly *** metamaterial absorption technique is mostly used to shield electromagnetic interference(EMI)in THz sensing *** most widely used THz metamaterial absorbers suffer from their narrowband properties and the involvement of complex fabrication *** with multifunctional properties,such as adjustable conductivity,broad bandwidth,high flexibility,and robustness,are driving future development to meet THz shielding *** this article,a theoretical simulation approach based on finite difference time domain(FDTD)is utilized to study the absorption and shielding characteristics of a two-dimensional(2D)MXene Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) metasurface absorber in the THz *** proposed metamaterial structure is made up of a square-shaped array of MXene that is 50 nmthick and is placed on top of a silicon *** bottom surface of the silicon is metalized with gold to reduce the transmission and ultimately enhance the absorption at 1–3 *** symmetric adjacent space between theMXene array results in a widening of *** proposed metasurface achieves 96%absorption under normal illumination of the incident source and acquires an average of 25 dB shielding at 1 THz bandwidth,with the peak shielding reaching 65 *** results show that 2D MXene-based stacked metasurfaces can be proven in the realization of low-cost devices for THz shielding and sensing applications.

Regression testing is a widely used approach to confirm the correct functionality of the software in incremental *** use of test cases makes it easier to test the ripple effect of changed *** testingmay help in meeting the quality criteria that is based on the conformance to the requirements as given by the intended ***,a minimized and prioritized set of test cases may reduce the efforts and time required for testingwhile focusing on the timely delivery of the software *** this research,a technique named Test Reduce has been presented to get a minimal set of test cases based on high priority to ensure that the web applicationmeets the required quality criteria.A new technique TestReduce is proposed with a blend of genetic algorithm to find an optimized and minimal set of test *** ultimate objective associated with this study is to provide a technique that may solve the minimization problem of regression test cases in the case of linked *** this research,the 100-Dollar prioritization approach is used to define the priority of the new requirements.

Mechanical properties of steel, glass, and hybrid fiber reinforced reactive powder concrete

This study examines the properties of fiber-reinforced reactive powder concrete (FR-RPC). Steel fibers, glass fibers, and steel-glass hybrid fibers were used to prepare the FR-RPC. The non-fibrous reactive powder concrete (NF-RPC) was prepared as a reference mix. The proportion of fibers by volume for all FR-RPC mixes was 1.5%. Steel fibers of 13 mm length and 0.2 mm diameter were used to prepare the steel fiber-reinforced RPC (SFR-RPC). Glass fibers of 13 mm length and 1.3 mm diameter were used to prepare the glass fiber-reinforced RPC (GFR-RPC). The hybrid fiber-reinforced RPC (HFR-RPC) was prepared by mixing 0.9% steel fibers and 0.6% glass fibers. Compressive strength, axial load-axial deformation behavior, modulus of elasticity, indirect tensile strength, and shear strength of the RPC mixes were investigated. The results showed that SFR-RPC achieved higher compressive strength, indirect tensile strength and shear strength than NF-RPC, GFR-RPC, and HFR-RPC. Although the compressive strengths of GFR-RPC and HFR-RPC were slightly lower than the compressive strength of NF-RPC, the shear strengths of GFR-RPC and HFR-RPC were higher than that of NF-RPC.

Effects of bismuth on structural and dielectric properties of cobalt-cadmium spinel ferrites fabricated via micro-emulsion route

Spinel ferrites have a significant role in high-tech *** the present work nano-crystalline ferrites having general formula Co0.5Cd0.5BixFe2-xO4 with(x=0.0,0.05,0.1,0.15,0.2,and 0.25)are synthesized via micro-emulsion *** x-ray diffraction(XRD)studies discover the FCC spinel *** size is calculated in a range of 11 nm-15 *** parameter calculations are reduced due to its substitution which leads to the exchange of large ionic radius of Fe^3+for small ionic radius of Bi^3+.The x-ray density is analyzed to increase with *** transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)is performed to analyze absorption band *** two absorption bands are observed in a range of 400 cm^-1-600 cm^-1,and they are the characteristic feature of spinel ***-gravimetric analysis(TGA)reveals the total weight loss of nearly 1.98%.Dielectric analysis is carried out by impedance analyzer in a frequency span from 1 MHz to 3 GHz by using the Maxwell Wagner *** studies reveal the decrease of dielectric *** alternating current(AC)conductivity exhibits a plane behavior in a low frequency range and it increases with the applied frequency *** is attributed to the grain effects in a high frequency range or may be due to the reduction of *** and imaginary part of impedance show the decreasing trend which corresponds to the grain boundary *** imaginary modulus shows the occurrence of peak that helps to understand the interfacial ***-Cole graph shows a single semicircle which confirms that the conduction mechanism is due to the grain boundaries at low *** studies reveal the applicability of these ferrites in high frequency equipment,microwave applications,high storage media,and semiconductor devices.

Overexpression of the phytochrome B gene from Arabidopsis thaliana increases plant growth and yield of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum)

The phytochrome B (PHyB) gene of Arabidopsis thaliana was introduced into cotton through Agrobacterium *** and expression of PHyB gene in cotton plants were confirmed by molecular *** RNA (mRNA) expression in one of the transgenic lines,QCC11,was much higher than those of control and other transgenic *** cotton plants showed more than a two-fold increase in photosynthetic rate and more than a four-fold increase in transpiration rate and stomatal *** increase in photosynthetic rate led to a 46% increase in relative growth rate and an 18% increase in net assimilation *** recorded up to two generations,both in the greenhouse and in the field,revealed that overexpression of Arabidopsis thaliana PHyB gene in transgenic cotton plants resulted in an increase in the production of cotton by improving the cotton plant growth,with 35% more ***,the presence of the Arabidopsis thaliana PHyB gene caused pleiotropic effects like semi-dwarfism,decrease in apical dominance,and increase in boll size.

Two novel variants in CyP1B1 gene: a major contributor of autosomal recessive primary congenital glaucoma with allelic heterogeneity in Pakistani patients

AIM: To find the CyP1 B1 mutations associated with primary congenital glaucoma(PCG) in Pakistani consanguineous pedigrees. METHODS: After getting informed consent, 11 consanguineous pedigrees belonging to different ethnic groups were enrolled. Detailed medical history was recorded and pedigrees were drawn. The standard ophthalmological examination was done to characterize the phenotype. Genomic DNA was extracted from 10 mL whole blood and coding exons and exon intron boundaries of CyP1 B1 gene were directly sequenced. Bioinformatics tools were used to model the mutant protein and predict the effect of novel variants on protein structure and function. RESULTS: Sequencing analysis revealed 5 different CyP1 B1 variants in 7 families(7/11; 64%), including two novel variants. A common mutation, p.R390 H was found in four families, whereas p.P437 L was found once in a family. Two novel variants, a homozygous non sense variant p.L13* and a compound heterozygous variant, p.P350 T along with p.V364 M were segregating with PCGin two families. All the patients had the variable onset and severity of the disease. The success rate of early clinical interventions was observed dependent on mutation types and position. Two different haplotypes were associated with frequently found mutation, p.R390 H. CONCLUSION: Identification of novel CyP1 B1 variants reassert the genetic heterogeneity of Pakistani PCG patients. The patients with missense mutations show severe phenotypic presentations and poor vision after surgical interventions as compare to patients with null variants. This may help to better understand the role of CyP1 B1 mutations in the development of PCG and its course of pathogenicity.

A Fractal-Fractional Model for the MHD Flow of Casson Fluid in a Channel

An emerging definition of the fractal-fractional operator has been used in this study for the modeling of Casson fluid *** magnetohydrodynamics flow of Casson fluid has cogent in a channel where the motion of the upper plate generates the flow while the lower plate is at a static *** proposed model is non-dimensionalized using the Pi-Buckingham theorem to reduce the complexity in solving the model and computation *** non-dimensional fractal-fractional model with the power-law kernel has been solved through the Laplace transform *** Mathcad software has been used for illustration of the influence of various parameters,i.e.,Hartman number,fractal,fractional,and Casson fluid parameters on the velocity of fluid *** graphs and tables,the results have been implemented and it is shown that the boundary conditions are fully *** results reveal that the flow velocity is decreasing with the increasing values of the Hartman number and is increasing with the increasing values of the Casson fluid *** findings of the fractal-fractional model have elucidated that the memory effect of the flow model has higher quality than the simple fractional and classical ***,to show the validity of the obtained closed-form solutions,special cases have been obtained which are in agreement with the already published solutions.
