An experiment was conducted to compare the forage yield and qualify of oat (Avena sativa L.) genotypes (F-413, sGD-46, F-408, F-301, sGD-2011, sGD-3, sGD-37, sGD-40, sGD-5 and s-2000) at Fodder Research Institute, sargodha, Pakistan during the year 2011 to 2012. Experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design (RCBD) having three replications and a net plot of size 1.6 × 5 m. The varieties were differed significantly (P ≤ 0.05) in yield, growth and quality parameters. The variety sGD-40 produced significantly higher green forage yield (80.00 t·ha-1) and dry matter yield (10.95 t·ha-1) than other varieties due to taller plants (145.73 cm), more number of tillers (7.78 m-2) and leaf area per plant (95.08 cm2). It also had the highest crude protein percentage (13.84%). Correlation analysis of quantitative and qualitative characters indicated the strongly positive association of green forage yield with dry matter, crude protein and ash content. While green forage yield was negatively correlated with the number of tillers per plant, keeping in view both forage yield and crude protein contents the genotype sGD-40 grown under the condition of sargodha (Pakistan).

This paper presents the results of a diagnostic study of a typical case of very heavy rainfall during the south Asian summer monsoon when a mesoscale low in a desert climate merged with a diffused tropical depression. The former low was located over Pakistan's desert region and the latter depression originated over the Bay of Bengal. surface and NCEP reanalysis data supported by satellite and radar images were incorporated in the diagnosis. The relationship between the heavy precipitation process and large-scale circulations such as monsoon trough, subtropical high, westerly jet, low level jet and water vapor transport were investigated to further understand the mechanism of this peculiar interaction. It was found that: (1) the mesoscale low developed as a result of cold air advection aloft from northern latitudes and strong convection over the region of humidity convergence on 24 July 2003 over the Indian Rajistan area. (2) On the same day, a low that formed over the Bay of Bengal was transformed into a monsoon depression and moved westward to the mesoscale low which existed over southwest India and the adjoining southeastern parts of Pakistan. (3) Initially, the mesoscale low received moisture supply from both the Bay of Bengal as well as the Arabian sea, whereas the Bay of Bengal maintained the continuous supply of moisture to the monsoon depression. (4) After the depression crossed central India, the Bay's moisture supply was cut off and the Arabian sea became the-only source of moisture to both the closely located systems. On 27 July, both of the systems merged together and the merger resulted in a heavy downpour in the Karachi metropolitan and in its surroundings. (5) With the intensification as well as the southeastward extension of the subtropical high and the shift of the monsoon trough axis from southwest-west to northeast-east, the monsoon depression moved southwestward. In this situation, there existed a very favourable condition for a merger of the two

salacca zalacca(Gaertn.) Voss(family Arecaceae) is the snake fruit commonly known in Malay language as salak in Malaysia. This exotic fruit has diverse and potential pharmacological properties due to its high antioxidant content. It is often consumed due to its sweet taste. The abundant natural sugar and fibre along with minerals and vitamin makes it a nutritious fruit. Phytochemical investigation on this fruit has revealed the presence of flavonoids, phenolics, glycosides as well as some volatile and aromatic compounds, including gallic acid, quercetin, chlorogenic acid, epicatechin, proanthocyanidins, lycopene and β-carotene. Pharmacological studies on the fruit flesh and peel have shown some tremendous antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer and antidiabetic potential. This review provides the botanical information of salacca zalacca as well as its scientific investigations involving the distinct pharmacological and phytochemical benefits. This could help in highlighting the lacking data and research gaps on this plant.

The bulk Ti3siC2 specimens with less than 1 wt% TiC impurity were prepared by vacuum sintering technique, and the average grain size was about 5-6 μm in the elongated direction. When the sintering temperature, soaking time and heating rate were 1 400 ℃, 1 h and 10℃·min-1, respectively, the highest relative density of Ti3siC2 specimens could reach 97.8%. Meanwhile, the lowest coefficient of friction （COF） and wear rate （WR） of the Ti3siC2 samples were 0.55 and 1.37×10-3 mm3（Nm）-1 at a sliding speed of 0.35 m/s, load pressure of 10 N and ambient condition, respectively. The COF of the Ti3siC2 sample reduced with the increasing of the load pressure, while the WRs fluctuated little. The WR increased with the increasing of the sliding speed, and weakly influenced the COF. These changing behaviors could be attributed to the presence and coverage of the amorphous mixture oxide film ofTi, si, A1, and Fe on the Ti3siC2 friction surface. The self- antifriction mechanism led to reducing of the COF. The increasing of the WR was attributed to the wearing consumption.

A virus disease of garden sage (salvia splendens Ker-Gawl.) was observed and characterized showing symptoms of severe mosaic, mottling and distortion of leaves being remain shortened and growth retarded. The virus was transmitted to the healthy plants of salvia spp. as well as many other hosts by mechanical inoculation, Myzus persicae sulzer and Aphis gossypii Glover transmit the virus in non-persistent manner. Purified sample in EM showed spherical particles c.28 nm in diameter. DAC- ELIsA [1] was performed with crude sap, specific polyclonal anti-serum (PVAs 242a, ATCC, UsA) and alkaline phosphatase-linked secondary antibodies (Deutsche sammlung von Mikroorganismen und Zellkulturen GmbH or DsMZ, Germany). The mean absorbance at 405 nm for negative and positive controls were 0.061 ± 0.008 and 0.349 ± 0.003 respectively, while infected samples were recorded four-times more than the value of negative controls with values that ranged between 0.289 ± 0.005 and 0.325 ± 0.003. RT-PCR was performed using total RNA as templates and CMV Coat Protein (CP) gene specific reverse and forward primers, gel was electrophoresed on 1% agarose, an amplification of expected size 650 bp fragment was obtained only in the infected sample which proved that the present virus is a strain of CMV, the type member of the genus cucumovirus belonging to the family Bromoviridae.

准确描述并预测裂缝空间分布是裂缝型潜山油藏储层开发的前提条件,裂缝型潜山油藏构造复杂、断层发育、地震反射多表现为空白或杂乱反射,传统的依赖模型的反演方法难以表征复杂的潜山断裂系统。为此,提出了以测井裂缝敏感参数FIC c为训练目标的深度信念网络反演方法。首先基于碳酸盐岩裂缝在测井曲线上的响应特征,综合伽马、井径等曲线,构建敏感性裂缝识别参数FIC c;然后以基于优选井计算的FIC c曲线作为训练目标、以井旁地震数据作为训练特征构成训练样本,通过训练深度信念网络,建立井旁地震数据与FIC c曲线之间的非线性映射关系;最后将训练成熟的网络模型应用到整个地震数据体,反演得到裂缝识别参数FIC c,进而预测裂缝空间分布。s区潜山裂缝预测的应用结果表明,测井裂缝识别参数FIC c识别结果与成像测井裂缝识别结果基本吻合,FIC c作为训练目标在s区裂缝预测中具有较好的可靠性;应用深度信念网络反演的解释结果表明s区潜山主要发育北东向裂缝,呈带状沿断层大面积发育,与熵属性刻画的裂缝发育带一致性较好,钻井吻合率达71%。
