Artificial Intelligence Based Meteorological Parameter Forecasting for Optimizing Response of Nuclear Emergency Decision Support System

This paper presents a novel artificial intelligence (AI) based approach to predict crucial meteorological parameters such as temperature,pressure,and wind speed,typically calculated from computationally intensive weather research and forecasting (WRF) *** meteorological data is indispensable for simulating the release of radioactive effluents,especially in dispersion modeling for nuclear emergency decision support *** of meteorological conditions during nuclear emergencies using the conventional WRF model is very complex and ***,a new artificial neural network (ANN) based technique was proposed as a viable alternative for meteorological prediction.A multi-input multi-output neural network was trained using historical site-specific meteorological data to forecast the meteorological *** evaluation of this technique was conducted to test its performance in forecasting various parameters including atmospheric pressure,temperature,and wind speed components in both East-West and North-South *** performance of developed network was evaluated on an unknown dataset,and acquired results are within the acceptable range for all meteorological *** show that ANNs possess the capability to forecast meteorological parameters,such as temperature and pressure,at multiple spatial locations within a grid with high accuracy,utilizing input data from a single ***,accuracy is slightly compromised when predicting wind speed *** mean square error (RMSE) was utilized to report the accuracy of predicted results,with values of 1.453℃for temperature,77 Pa for predicted pressure,1.058 m/s for the wind speed of U-component and 0.959 m/s for the wind speed of *** conclusion,this approach offers a precise,efficient,and wellinformed method for administrative decision-making during nuclear emergencies.

Background: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a contagious infection caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-COV-2) and it has infected and killed millions of people across the ***: In the absence or inadequate provision of therapeutic treatments of COVID-19 and the limited convenience of diagnostic techniques, there is a necessity for some alternate spontaneous screening systems that can easily be used by the physicians to rapidly recognize and isolate the infected patients to circumvent onward surge. A chest X-ray (CXR) image can effortlessly be used as a substitute modality to diagnose the ***: In this study, we present an automatic COVID-19 diagnostic and severity prediction system (COVIDX) that uses deep feature maps of CXR images along with classical machine learning algorithms to identify COVID-19 and forecast its severity. The proposed system uses a three-phase classification approach (healthy vs unhealthy, COVID-19 vs pneumonia, and COVID-19 severity) using different conventional supervised classification ***: We evaluated COVIDX through 10-fold cross-validation, by using an external validation dataset, and also in a real setting by involving an experienced radiologist. In all the adopted evaluation settings, COVIDX showed strong generalization power and outperforms all the prevailing state-of-the-art methods designed for this ***: Our proposed method (COVIDX), with vivid performance in COVID-19 diagnosis and its severity prediction, can be used as an aiding tool for clinical physicians and radiologists in the diagnosis and follow-up studies of COVID-19 infected ***: We made COVIDX easily accessible through a cloud-based webserver and python code available at https://***/view/wajidarshad/software and https://***/wajidarshad/covidx, respectively.

The regulatory effects of gut microbiota on breast health and human milk composition via gut-mammary gland axis

The gut-mammary gland axis connects the communication between the gut microbiota and the mammary gland. Studies have reported that dysbiosis in gut microbiota is involved in the pathogenesis of breast diseases such as mastitis and breast cancer. In addition， different diets， including the supplementation of probiotics or prebiotics， which are closely related to the alteration of gut microbiota， were found to affect the nutritional contents of human milk and contribute to the development or alleviation of breast diseases. These studies suggested that the gut microbiota might be a new target for the regulation of human milk components or breast diseases. In this article， we summarized recent research advances in the gut-mammary gland axis and discussed some of the effective mechanisms and pathways involved， including distal translocation of gut microbiota， circulation of metabolites across the blood-milk barrier， the delivery of immune cells and their secreted antibodies to the mammary gland. This article also provides new strategies for preventing women's breast diseases and improving the composition of human milk through the gut-mammary axis.

The development of low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells(LT-SOFCs)is of significant importance for realizing the widespread application of *** has stimulated a substantial materials research effort in developing high oxide-ion conductivity in the electrolyte layer of *** this context,for the first time,a dielectric material,CaCu_(3)Ti_(4)O_(12)(CCTO)is designed for LT-SOFCs electrolyte application in this *** individual CCTO and its heterostructure materials with a p-type Ni_(0.8)Co_(0.15)Al_(0.05)LiO_(2−δ)(NCAL)semiconductor are evaluated as alternative electrolytes in LT-SOFC at 450–550℃.The single cell with the individual CCTO electrolyte exhibits a power output of approximately 263 mW cm^(-2) and an open-circuit voltage(OCV)of 0.95 V at 550℃,while the cell with the CCTO–NCAL heterostructure electrolyte capably delivers an improved power output of approximately 605 mW cm^(-2) along with a higher OCV over 1.0 V,which indicates the introduction of high hole-conducting NCAL into the CCTO could enhance the cell performance rather than inducing any potential short-circuiting *** is found that these promising outcomes are due to the interplay of the dielectric material,its structure,and overall properties that led to improve electrochemical mechanism in CCTO–***,density functional theory calculations provide the detailed information about the electronic and structural properties of the CCTO and NCAL and their heterostructure CCTO–*** study thus provides a new approach for developing new advanced electrolytes for LT-SOFCs.

This paper presents the experimental and numerical studies conducted on a steel column and a steel frame structure using free vibration *** effects of damages on structures were investigated,which were simulated by introducing multiple cracks at different locations in the experimental and numerical *** acceleration responses of the test models,were recorded through an accelerometer,and were used to calibrate the numerical models developed in finite element based *** frequencies of damaged and undamaged structures were compared and analyzed,to derive relationships for damaged and undamaged structures’frequencies in terms of crack *** was found that,due to the presence of cracks,the mechanical properties of a structure changes,whereby,the modal frequencies *** approximately linear trend was observed for the frequency decrease with the increase in crack depth,which was also confirmed by the numerical *** derived relationships were extended to further develop a mechanics-based damage scale for steel structures,to help facilitate structural health monitoring and screening of vulnerable structures.

Dynamic instability of decentralized wind energy farms is a major issue to deliver continuous green energy to electricity *** instability is caused by variations of voltage and frequency parameters due to intermittencies in wind ***,droop control and inverter-based schemes have been proposed to regulate the voltage by balancing reactive power,while inertial control,digital mapping tech-nique of proportional-integral-differential(PID)controller and efficiency control strategy have been developed to regulate the *** this paper,voltage stability is improved by a new joint strategy of distribution static compensator(DSTATCOM)six-pulse controller based reactive power management among decentralized wind turbines and controlled charging of capacitor *** frequency stability is ensured by a joint coordinated utilization of capacitor bank and distributed wind power turbines dispatching through a new DSTATCOM six-pulse controller *** both strategies,power grid is contributed as a backup source with less *** new joint strategies for voltage and frequency stabilities will enhance the stable active power delivery to end users.A system test case is developed to verify the proposed joint *** test results of the proposed new schemes are proved to be effective in terms of stability improvement of voltage,frequency and active power generation.
