The work deals with the thermal behavior of a conventional partition wall incorporating a phase change material(PCM).The wall separates two environments with different thermal *** first one is conditioned,while the adjacent space is characterized by a temperature that changes sinusoidally in *** effect of the PCM is assessed through a comparative analysis of the cases with and without *** performances are evaluated in terms of dimensionless energy stored within the wall,comfort temperature and variations of these quantities as a function of the amount of PCM and its emplacement.

Objective To report the first Bahrain national registry for ART treatments initiated from January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2005. Methods The ＂World Report on ART＂ forms, prepared by the International Committee for Monitoring Assisted Reproductive Technology （ICMART）, were filled from database records of all procedures and their respective outcome carried out at Banoon ART Centre, the Military Hospital, Bahrain during the period of 2000-2006. Results A total of 1490 completed cycles were performed. ICSI constituted 42.68% （636）, IVF constituted 35.50% （529）, while frozen-thawed embryo replacement cycles represented only 21.18% （325） of all ART cycles. The clinical pregnancy rates per transfer for IVF and ICSI cycles were 26.65% and 21.70%, respectively. The distribution of singleton, twin and triplet deliveries for IVF,, ICSI and FET combined were 80. 0%, 16.3% and 3.7%, respectively. The average delivery rate per clinical pregnancy for fresh and frozen cycles was 57.3%. As a result of ART services, 266 neonates were born. Complications of ART were solely due to ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome （OHSS） which constituted 2.26% of all aspirated cycles. Conclusion Multiple pregnancy rate was high due to transferring 〉3 embryos. Pregnancy loss and OHSS were relatively high thus preventative measures were recommended. This report paves the way for the other IVF centers in Bahrain to provide their own data for the national ART registry.

BACKGROUND: The improvement of the upper limb disability,which is mainly caused by stroke,is still one of the rehabilitation treatment ***,the effectiveness of Task-Based Mirror Therapy（TBMT）on subacute stroke with moderate and severe upper limb impairment has not been deeply ***: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of TBMT,in comparison to occupational therapy,in moderate and severe upper limb impairment by analyzing the motor function and activities of daily living in subacute stroke ***: 30 patients with moderate and severe subacute stroke recruited from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University have been randomly divided into two groups;the Task-Based Mirror Therapy group（N = 15）and the control group（N =15）.The first group received TBMT while the control group underwent only occupational therapy without a mirror *** into consideration that both groups received conventional *** intervention time was equal for both groups consisting of 25 minutes per day for 25 ***-Meyer Assessment（FMA）,Brunnstrom Assessment（BRS）,Modified Barthel Index（MBI）,and Modified Ashworth Scale（MAS）were used to assess the outcomes for this ***: After 25 sessions of treatment,the patients in both groups have shown improvement in the activates of daily living,motor recovery,and motor *** significant differences between the two groups were observed on BRS and ***,interestingly,the results of the TBMT group were significantly better than the control group in FMA（P ＜ 0.05）and certain aspects of MAS（elbow flexion,wrist flexion,wrist extension,and fingers extension with P＜ 0.05）.CONCLUSION: This study shows that the combination of conventional rehabilitation treatment and TBMT is an effective way to improve the functional recovery in the upper limb stroke patients.

Objective: To evaluate the ameliorator property of silymarin or/and Nigella sativa(N. sativa) extract against N-acetyl-p-aminophenol(APAP)-induced injury in male mice at the biochemical, histological and ultrastructural ***: The mice were divided into seven groups(10/group). The first group was served as control. While, the second group was treated with dose of APAP. The third and fourth groups were treated with silymarin alone and N. sativa extract alone respectively. The fifth and sixth groups were treated with combination of APAP with silymarin and APAP with N. sativa extract respectively. The seventh group was treated with combination of both ameliorative compounds(silymarin and N. sativa extract) with APAP and all animals were treated for a period of 30 days. Results: Exposure to APAP at the treated dose to mice led to an alteration of liver functions, increased the alanine transaminase, aspartate aminotransferase and lactate dehydrogenase levels, decreased total protein level as well as the increasing the superoxide dismutase and malondialdehyde while decreased catalase, glutathione peroxidase and glutathione reduced activities. The effects of APAP on the biochemical parameters of mice were dose-dependent. Administration of silymarin or/and N. sativa extract to APAP-treated mice attenuates the toxicity of this compound, objectified by biochemical, histological and ultrastructural improvement of liver. But the alleviation was more pronounced with the both antioxidants. Conclusions: The synergistic effect of silymarin and N. sativa extract is the most powerful in reducing the toxicity induced by APAP and improving the liver functions and antioxidant capacities of mice.

Efficient extraction of light from a high refractive index silicon waveguide out of a chip is difficult to *** inverse design approach was employed using the particle swarm optimization method to attain a vertical emitting meta-grating coupler with high coupling efficiency in a 220-nm-thick silicon-on-insulator *** carefully selecting the figure of merit and appropriately defining parameter space,unique L-shape and U-shape grating elements that boosted the out-of-plane radiation of light were *** addition,a 65.7%(-1.82 dB)outcoupling efficiency and a 60.2%(-2.2 dB)fiber-to-chip vertical coupling efficiency with an 88 nm 3 dB bandwidth were demonstrated by numerical *** fabrication constraints,the optimized complex meta-grating coupler was modified to correspond to two etching steps and was then fabricated with a complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor-compatible *** modified meta-grating coupler exhibited a simulated coupling efficiency of 57.5%(-2.4 d B)with a 74 nm 3-dB bandwidth in the C-band and an experimentally measured coupling efficiency of 38%(-4.2 dB).

The present study was conducted in 4 × 4 half diallel cross fashion using the genotypes named as NL-2002, NL-2006, Punjab Masoor-2009 and Markaz-2009 for the evaluation of gene action in the inheritance of economic traits of lentil by following the Griffing (1956) Method of analysis. Minirap 13.1 Copyright© 2000, Minitab inc. Method II, Model I was used for the analysis and gene action was computed by variance component analysis using Mixed Model with GLM (general linear model) procedure. The F1 direct crosses along with the parental genotypes were then evaluated by framing the experiment in RCBD in 3 replications. The data were recorded for the characters which are under the study are, plant height (cm), number of primary branches, number of secondary branches, number of pods per plant, number of seed per pod, seed yield per plant, biomass (gram), 100 seeds weight (gram), harvest index (%), yield per plant. The simple ANOVA for all the characters revealed that difference among genotypes was highly significant. As significant differences were present between the genotypes, it permitted subsequent analysis of the data. The Combining Ability (CA) results showed that value of variance for GCA (General Combining Ability) was significantly higher than that of those of the values of variance of SCA (Specific Combining Ability). Hence current results clearly depicted the role of additive type of gene action governing the characters under study.

Xiangxi River Basin, located in western Hubei Province in central China, is a karst ridge-trough area with an inhomogeneous and complicated distribution of water resources. This paper compares the characteristics of surface and subsurface floods in this karst basin, utilizing a one-parameter Darcian model and the traditional exponential model. The observed hydrographs and inferred water components are strikingly similar for surface and subsurface floods. The Darcian model and the exponential model are based on different views of the flood generation process, with the former fitting the entire hydrograph with a single time constant, and the latter fitting only the recession limb with multiple time constants. Due to the anisotropy and heterogeneity of karst media, a combination of physical and chemical techniques including the use of 3S（remote sensing, geographical information system, global positioning system） method is proposed for an enhanced hydrological investigation to assess and characterize karst water resources in mountainous areas.

An efficient design for erosion-control structures of any watershed in the world is entrusted with the delicate forecasting of sediment *** outlook yields are usually inferred by extrapolations from past *** runoff,as the transporting vehicle,is more closely correlated with sediment yields than any other ***,calibration as well as validation of process-based hydrological models are two major processes while estimating the sediment yield in *** actual survey is fulfilled with the aim of developing a trustworthy hydrologic model simulating stream flow discharge and sediment concentration with least uncertainty among the parameters picked out for calibration so as to verify the effect of the scenarios on the spatial distribution of sediment yield(sediments transported from sub-basins to the main channel during the step of time).Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT,version 2012)model integrated with Geographic Information System(GIS,version 10.1)was used to simulate the stream flow and sediment concentration of Kalaya catchment situated in north of Morocco for the period from 1971 to *** calibration and validation were performed for monthly time periods using Sequential Uncertainty Fitting 2(SUFI-2,version 2)within SWAT-CUP using 16 *** calibration outputs for monthly simulation for the period from 1976 to 1984 showed a good model performance for flow rates with NSE and PBIAS values of 0.76 and11.80,respectively;also a good model performance for sediment concentration with NSE and PBIAS values of 0.69 and 7.12,***,during validation period(1985–1993)for monthly time step,the NSE and PBIAS values were 0.67 and14.44,respectively for flow rates and these statistical values were 0.70 and 15.51,respectively for sediment concentration;which also means a good model performance for *** calibration,the inclusive effect of each parameter used was ranked using global sensitivity function
