In the present study, the operational lifetime of a solid oxide fuel(SOFC) short stack is predicted by investigating the performance degradation of both the short stack and its cells throughout 1000 h at 800°C. The short stack and integral cell voltages are continuously measured during the long-term test, with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) conducted every 200 h. The short stack voltage decreased rapidly for the initial 200–300 h and afterwards, it decreased at a slow rate due to the increase in the Ohmic and polarization resistances in the same manner. Scanning electron microscopy results show that there is no delamination or cracking among constituent layers of the short-stack cells. The single degradation effects of the Ni coarsening in the anode, cation migration and surface segregation in cathode and oxide scale growth in metallic interconnect mesh are successfully integrated into a comprehensive lifetime prediction model. The experimentally measured voltage degradation data of the short stack fits well with the developed mathematical model and allows the successful prediction of the lifetime up to 50,000 h.

Numerical Simulation and Experimental Verification of CMOD in SENT Specimen: Application on FCGR of Welded Tool Steel

Single-edged notched tension （SENT） specimen is used to study the fatigue crack growth rate （FCGR） behavior of AISI 50100 steel using MTS 810. Calibration tests are run to get plots of crack mouth opening displacement （CMOD） vs. load and CMOD vs. crack length-to-width ratio with the known crack lengths. Numerical simulation is also done to try to establish a relation between crack length and CMOD. FCGR of welded and un-welded specimens are plotted against stress intensity factor range to show the effect of welding on fatigue crack growth rate of AISI 50100 steel. The experimentally obtained CMOD values are compared with values obtained by numerical simulation using ABAQUS/StandardTM software package. Results show that numerical values are in good agreement with experimental data for small crack lengths and lower values of applied load,

The fabrication of a highly dense and ultrathin Gd doped ceria(GDC) interlayer on a large-area, porous electrolyte-coated planar anode support using vacuum slurry coating is studied for application in solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs). The electrolyte-coated planar anode support body is fabricated by tape casting and pre-sintering is performed at 1100, 1150, and 1200°C. The GDC interlayer is coated onto the pre-sintered electrolyte-coated anode support using a vacuum slurry coating process with different immersion times(30–60 s). A highly dense and ultrathin GDC interlayer with a thickness of 1.48 μm is produced after co-sintering at 1400°C. The 1200°C pre-sintered electrolyte-coated anode support showed a thin and highly dense GDC interlayer which is attributed to a lower shrinkage difference between the coated GDC interlayer and pre-sintered body. The electrochemical performance of a vacuum slurry-coated GDC interlayer cell is 38 % higher compared to that of the screen-printed GDC-coated cell at 700°C due to the greatly reduced Ohmic and electrode polarization resistances. The considerable improvement in the performance is attributed to the ultrahigh GDC density which has prevented the secondary phase formation between the cathode and electrolyte. This study presents the economical, scalable, and reproducible process for the fabrication of highly robust GDC interlayer for the large-area planar anode-supported SOFCs.

BACKGROUND Studies have suggested that atrial fibrillation(AF)in patients with rheumatic diseases(RD)may be due to *** morbidity and mortality associated with AF in hospitalized patients with *** The National inpatient sample database from October 2015 to December 2017 was analyzed to identify hospitalized patients with RD with and without AF.A subgroup analysis was performed comparing outcomes of AF among different *** The prevalence of AF was 23.9%among all patients with RD(n=3949203).Among the RD subgroup,the prevalence of AF was highest in polymyalgia rheumatica(33.2%),gout(30.2%),and pseudogout(27.1%).After adjusting for comorbidities,the odds of having AF were increased with gout(1.25),vasculitis(1.19),polymyalgia rheumatica(1.15),dermatopolymyositis(1.14),psoriatic arthropathy(1.12),lupus(1.09),rheumatoid arthritis(1.05)and pseudogout(1.04).In contrast,enteropathic arthropathy(0.44),scleroderma(0.96),ankylosing spondylitis(0.96),and Sjorgen’s syndrome(0.94)had a decreased association of *** mortality,length of stay,and hospitalization costs were higher in patients with RD having AF vs without *** the RD subgroup,the highest mortality was found with scleroderma(4.8%),followed by vasculitis(4%)and dermatopolymyositis(3.5%).CONCLUSION A highest association of AF was found with gout followed by vasculitis,and polymyalgia rheumatica when compared to other *** was two-fold higher in patients with RD with AF.

Variation of Radiation Emission with Argon Gas Pressure in UM Plasma Focus with the Hollow Anode

A Plasma Focus device (2.2 kJ, 12 kV) is studied as a pulsed X-ray source, operated with Argon at a filling pressure in the range of 0.7 to 2.5 mbar. The time resolved X-ray signals are measured with an array of PIN diode detectors. The X-ray emission produced by the plasma focus discharge at various pressures is investigated and compared. It is found that at the high pressure regime of more than 1.5 mbar, very consistent and high output of X-ray radiation is obtained, at the peak of the discharge current. A remarkable increase of about five times of the average X-ray yield is achieved at optimum pressure 1.7 mbar compared to that obtained at other pressures. An indirect method to determine the electron temperature of the plasma is achieved by using the array of 5 channel PIN diode detector coupled with Al foil of different thicknesses. The result shows that the electron temperature of the plasma is 7 keV, when the operating pressure is at 1.7 mbar. The maximum total X-ray yield is about 2.53 mJ per shot at optimum pressure, equivalent to the efficiency of 0.00012%.

Wheat is a critical crop,extensively consumed worldwide,and its production enhancement is essential to meet escalating *** presence of diseases like stem rust,leaf rust,yellow rust,and tan spot significantly diminishes wheat yield,making the early and precise identification of these diseases vital for effective disease *** advancements in deep learning algorithms,researchers have proposed many methods for the automated detection of disease pathogens;however,accurately detectingmultiple disease pathogens simultaneously remains a *** challenge arises due to the scarcity of RGB images for multiple diseases,class imbalance in existing public datasets,and the difficulty in extracting features that discriminate between multiple classes of disease *** this research,a novel method is proposed based on Transfer Generative Adversarial Networks for augmenting existing data,thereby overcoming the problems of class imbalance and data *** study proposes a customized architecture of Vision Transformers(ViT),where the feature vector is obtained by concatenating features extracted from the custom ViT and Graph Neural *** paper also proposes a Model AgnosticMeta Learning(MAML)based ensemble classifier for accurate *** proposedmodel,validated on public datasets for wheat disease pathogen classification,achieved a test accuracy of 99.20%and an F1-score of 97.95%.Compared with existing state-of-the-art methods,this proposed model outperforms in terms of accuracy,F1-score,and the number of disease pathogens *** future,more diseases can be included for detection along with some other modalities like pests and weed.

The study was designed to find the prevalence of ANA antibodies and anti-dsDNA antibodies in samples tested at AFIP Rawalpindi and their correlation with age and gender and to find positive and negative predictive values of ANA *** this purpose,twelve thousand nine hundred sixty-seven(12,967)patients were analyzed for ANA with four hundred sixty-eight(468)healthy samples tested as control and four thousand seven hundred three(4,703)patients tested for ds-DNA *** data of all samples tested by indirect immunofluorescence(IF)for ANA antibodies and dsDNA antibodies was *** address positive and negative predictive values another control group(autoimmunity not suspected)of serum samples was taken from the healthy *** the first group,age,gender,ANA antibodies and ds-DNA antibodies results(both tests performed by IIF)data was collected from a computer record cell;for the second control group,ANA antibodies were performed by IIF.12,967 and 4,703 samples(Group 1)were tested for ANA antibodies and dsDNA antibodies,respectively,during this period.1,119(9%)and 99(2%)were found positive for ANA antibodies and ds DNA *** these positive samples,850(76%)and 73(74%)were females *** predisposition towards autoimmunity(ANA)was found significant with a P value of(P=0.001).Relation of age was also found significant with anti-ANA antibodies with a P value of(P=0.001).This study shows a negative correlation between age(P=0.025)and gender(P=0.001)with anti-dsDNA which is also *** prevalence was found below the mean age of 38 years(SD±16.635)for ANA antibodies and the mean age of 35 years(SD±15.066)for ds-DNA *** age of ANA antibodies and dsDNA antibodies positive patients ranged from 1 year old to 98 years old and 2 years old to 95 years old *** the second(autoimmunity-free)control group,a total of 468 samples were tested for ANA antibodies and 9(2%)were found ***
