Solid-state sodium metal batteries utilizing inorganic solid electrolytes(SEs)hold immense potentials such as intrinsical safety,high energy density,and environmental sustainability.However,the interfacial inhomogeneity/instability at the anode-SE interface usually triggers the penetration of sodium dendrites into the electrolyte,leading to short circuit and battery failure.Herein,confronting with the original nonuniform and high-resistance solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)at the Na-Na_(3)Zr_(2)Si_(2)PO_(12)interface,an oxygen-regulated SEI innovative approach is proposed to enhance the cycling stability of anode-SEs interface,through a spontaneous reaction between the metallic sodium(containing trace amounts of oxygen)and the Na_(3)Zr_(2)Si_(2)POi_(2)SE.The oxygen-regulated spontaneous SEI is thin,uniform,and kinetically stable to facilitate homogenous interfacial Na^+transportation,Benefitting from the optimized SEI,the assembled symmetric cell exhibits an ultra-stable sodium plating/stripping cycle for over 6600 h under a practical capacity of 3 mAh cm^(-2).Qua si-sol id-state batteries with Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)cathode deliver excellent cyclability over 500 cycles at a rate of 0.5 C(1 C=117 mA cm^(-2))with a high capacity retention of95.4%.This oxygen-regulated SEI strategy may offer a potential avenue for the future development of high-energy-density solid-state metal batteries.

Effect of rare earth Nd^(3+)doping contents on physical,structural,and magnetic properties of Co-Ni spinel ferrite nanoparticles

Rare earth(RE)low doping has a significant influence on the structural,morphological,and magnetic properties of spinel ferrite nanoparticles.Therefore,rare earth neodymium(Nd)oxide was fully doped into spinel ferrite with a composition of Co_(0.80)Ni_(0.20)Nd_xFe_(2-x)O_4(x=0.0,0.05,0.10,and 0.15)using the sol-gel auto combustion method.Structural analysis of the synthesized samples with low doping of Nd using X-ray diffraction(XRD)and Rietveld refinements reveals a pure single-phase cubic structure,while the second phase appears with increasing content of Nd^(3+)at x=0.10 and 0.15.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HR-TEM)show well-shaped spherical grains within the nanometer range of the pure Co_(0.80)Ni_(0.20)Fe_(2)O_(4) sample,while larger grains with the presence of agglomeration are observed with doping of Nd^(3+)into the spinel ferrite nanoparticles.The magnetic parameters,i.e.,saturation magnetization M_s,remanence and magnetic moments exhibit decreasing trend with Nd^(3+)doping and M_s values are in 65.69 to 53.34 emu/g range.The coercivity of the Nd-doped Co-Ni spinel ferrite sample was calculated to be 1037.76 to~827.24 Oe.This work demonstrates remarkable improvements in the structural and magnetic characteristics of Nddoped Co-Ni spinel ferrite nanoparticles for multiple versatile applications.

Enhancing PDF Malware Detection through Logistic Model Trees

Malware is an ever-present and dynamic threat to networks and computer systems in cybersecurity,and because of its complexity and evasiveness,it is challenging to identify using traditional signature-based detection approaches.The study article discusses the growing danger to cybersecurity that malware hidden in PDF files poses,highlighting the shortcomings of conventional detection techniques and the difficulties presented by adversarial methodologies.The article presents a new method that improves PDF virus detection by using document analysis and a Logistic Model Tree.Using a dataset from the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity,a comparative analysis is carried out with well-known machine learning models,such as Credal Decision Tree,Naïve Bayes,Average One Dependency Estimator,Locally Weighted Learning,and Stochastic Gradient Descent.Beyond traditional structural and JavaScript-centric PDF analysis,the research makes a substantial contribution to the area by boosting precision and resilience in malware detection.The use of Logistic Model Tree,a thorough feature selection approach,and increased focus on PDF file attributes all contribute to the efficiency of PDF virus detection.The paper emphasizes Logistic Model Tree’s critical role in tackling increasing cybersecurity threats and proposes a viable answer to practical issues in the sector.The results reveal that the Logistic Model Tree is superior,with improved accuracy of 97.46%when compared to benchmark models,demonstrating its usefulness in addressing the ever-changing threat landscape.

Ammonia（NH3） is an irreplaceable chemical that has been widely demanded to keep the sustainable development of modern society.However,its industrial production consumes a huge amount of energy and releases extraordinary greenhouse gases（GHGs）,leading to various environmental issues.Achieving the green production of ammonia is a great challenge,which has been extensively pursued in the last decade.In this review,the most promising strategy,electrochemical nitrate reduction reaction（e-NO3RR）,is comprehensively investigated to give a complete understanding of its development and mechanism and provide guidance for future directions.However,owing to the complex reactions and limited selectivity,a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms is crucial to further development and commercialization.Moreover,NO3-RR is a promising strategy for simultaneous water treatment and NH3production.A detailed overview of the recent progress in NO3-RR for NH3production with nontransition and transition metal based electrocatalysts is summarized.In addition,critical advanced techniques,future challenges,and prospects are discussed to guide future research on transition metal-based catalysts for commercial NH3synthesis by NO3-reduction.

CONSPECTUS:With the development of nanotechnology and characterization techniques,it has been realized that the reactivity of metal nanoparticles mainly depends on some unsaturated coordination atoms on the surface.However,only a small fraction of the surface exposed atoms can access the reactants and act as reactive sites,resulting in low utilization of metal atoms.Moreover,due to the complex structure of metal nanoparticles,the metal atoms exposed on the surface are likely to be in different chemical environments and may act as multiple active centers to catalyze the reactants,which brings great difficulties in the establishment of the structure−activity relationship of metal nanoparticles.

An indicator model for assessing community resilience to the COVID-19 pandemic and its validation: A case study in Hong Kong

The COVID-19 outbreak had a significant negative impact on the world,and the fifth wave of COVID-19 in Hong Kong brought a considerable shock to Chinese society.There is a growing call for more resilient cities.However,empirical evidence and validation of modeling studies of resilience indicators for urban community responses to the COVID-19 pandemic still need to be provided.In this study,a resilience assessment indicator model comprising 4 subsystems,7 indicators,and 12 variables was developed to assess the resilience of Hong Kong communities in response to COVID-19(i.e.,Resilience Index).Furthermore,this study utilized regression models such as geographically weighted regression(GWR)and multiscale GWR(MGWR)to validate the resilience model proposed in this study at the model and variable levels.In the regression model,the Resilience Index and the individual variables in the resilience model are explanatory variables,and the outcomes of the COVID-19 pandemic(confirmed cases,confirmation rate,discharged cases,discharge rate)are dependent variables.The results showed that:(i)the resilience of Hong Kong communities to the COvID-19 pandemic was not strong in general and showed some clustered spatial distribution characteristics;(i)the validation results at the model level showed that the Resilience Index did not explain the consequences of the COvID-19 pandemic to a high degree;(ii)the validation results at the variable level showed that the MGWR model was the best at identifying the relationships between explanatory variables and the dependent variable;and(iv)compared with the model-level assessment results,the variable-level assessment explained the consequences of the COvID-19 pandemic better than the model level assessment results.The above analysis and the spatial distribution maps of the resilience variables can provide empirically based and targeted insights for policymakers.

Consequences of Rényi entropy on the thermal geometries and Hawking evaporation of topological dyonic dilaton black hole

The thermodynamics of black holes(BHs)has had a profound impact on theoretical physics,providing insight into the nature of gravity,the quantum structure of spacetime and the fundamental laws governing the Universe.In this study,we investigate thermal geometries and Hawking evaporation of the recently proposed topological dyonic dilaton BH in anti-de Sitter(Ad S)space.We consider Rényi entropy and obtain the relations for pressure,heat capacity and Gibbs free energy and observe that the Rényi parameter and dilaton field play a vital role in the phase transition and stability of the BH.Moreover,we use Weinhold,Ruppeiner and Hendi Panahiyah Eslam Momennia models to evaluate the scalar curvature of the BH and find out that the divergence points of the scalar curvature coincides with the zero of specific heat.Finally,using Stefan–Boltzmann law,we determine that the BH without a dilaton field evaporates far more quickly compared to the dilaton BH in Ad S space.

The present study is focused on evaluation of deep marine pelagic sediments of Late Cretaceous Kawagarh Formation of Kala-Chitta Range in the context of microfacies analysis,paleoenvironmental interpretation,planktonic foraminiferal biostratigraphy,sequence stratigraphy and diversification of species.A total of thirty three rock samples were collected from the measured section.Three microfacies are interpreted,namely planktonic foraminifera wackestone,planktonic foraminifera mudstone and sandy mudstone indicating low energy depositional environment i.e.,outer ramp.The biostratigraphic studies show plentiful planktonic foraminifera species of Globotruncana,Heterohelix and Globotruncanita.However,no association of benthic or siliceous organisms was observed.On the basis of available species assemblage,a single local planktonic foraminifera biozone i.e.,Globotruncana-Heterohelix-Globotruncanita Assemblage Biozone is established.The biozone information is combined with published literature and Lower Santonian to Middle Maastrichtian age has been assigned to the Kawagarh Formation.The trend of species occurrences evinces that species number decreases over time with pulsated rise in the Kawagarh Formation.The Kawagarh Formation carbonates show an overall Transgressive Systems Tract(TST).The Kawagarh Formation of Pakistan evinces analogous characteristics to that of the Late Cretaceous Gurpi Formation of Iran based on the geologic age,outcrop lithology,microfacies,planktonic foraminiferal assemblages,depositional setting and sequence stratigraphy.

Cold plasma-induced effects on electromagnetic wave scattering in waveguides:a mode-matching analysis

This article presents advancements in an analytical mode-matching technique for studying electromagnetic wave propagation in a parallel-plate metallic rectangular waveguide.This technique involves projecting the solution onto basis functions and solving linear algebraic systems to determine scattering amplitudes.The accuracy of this method is validated via numerical assessments,which involve the reconstruction of matching conditions and conservation laws.The study highlights the impact of geometric and material variations on reflection and transmission phenomena in the waveguide.
