Optimized synthesis and photovoltaic performance of TiO_2 nanoparticles for dye-sensitized solar cell

This paper presents response surface methodology （RSM） as an efficient approach for modeling and optimizing TiO2 nanoparticles preparation via co-precipitation for dye-sensitized solar cell （DSSC） perfor- mance. Titanium （IV） bis-（acetylacetonate） di-isopropoxide （DIPBAT）, isopropanol and water were used as precursor, solvent and co-solvent, respectively. Molar ratio of water, aging temperature and calcina- tion temperature as preparation factors with main and interaction effects on particle characteristics and performances were investigated, Particle characteristics in terms of primary and secondary sizes, crys- tal orientation and morphology were determined by X-ray diffractometry （XRD） and scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. Band gap energy and power conversion efficiency of DSSCs were used for perfor- mance studies. According to analysis of variance （ANOVA） in response surface methodology （RSM）, all three independent parameters were statistically significant and the final model was accurate. The model predicted maximum power conversion efficiency （0.14%） under the optimal condition of molar ratio of DIPBAT-to-isopropanol-to-water of 1 ： 10：500, aging temperature of 36 C and calcination temperature of 400 ℃. A second set of data was adopted to validate the model at optimal conditions and was found to be 0.14 ± 0.015%, which was very close to the predicted value. This study proves the reliability of the model in identi（ving the optimal condition for maximum performance.

Neutral Delay Differential Equation(NDDE)is a differential problem that has regularly existed in numerous occurrences and has represented a significant role in dealing with real-life phenomena,especially on their application in biological and physiological processes.A fifth-order two-point hybrid implicit multistep block method(2PIH5)has been formulated in this research for the numerical solution of Neutral Delay Differential Equation(NDDE).A Taylor series interpolation polynomial has been implemented in the formulation of the proposed *** order,consistency,and zero-stability for 2PIH5 have been *** analyses of convergence and stability test have been performed and *** initial value problems for the first-order NDDE with constant or proportional delay have been solved using the proposed block *** numerical results for the proposed method have been presented to prove the adaptability and applicability of the proposed method in solving *** proposed method is proved to be comparable with the other existing *** is assumed to be reliable and efficient for solving the first-order NDDE with constant or proportional delay.

The novel (G'/G)-expansion method is a powerful and simple technique for finding exact traveling wave solutions to nonlinear evolution equations (NLEEs). In this article, we study explicit exact traveling wave solutions for the (1 + 1)-dimensional combined KdV-mKdV equation by using the novel (G'/G)-expansion method. Consequently, various traveling wave solutions patterns including solitary wave solutions, periodic solutions, and kinks are detected and exhibited.

Coconut wood（Cocos nucifera） is used as alternative and complementary raw material for making house and furniture. Decorative style and material strength of coconut wood started gaining attention as an alternative material in the furniture industry. The needs of furniture industries to determine the quality of a good coconut wood to make good product quality, requiring control during the selection process until the end of the process material to be a ready-made product. Determining the level of quality（grading） visually for coconut wood needs to be created automatically, so that it can be used for the determination of material suitable for use as furniture or construction materials for buildings and reducing dependence on human grader. This research presents our experimental work on coconut wood quality classification using k-Nearest Neighbors（k-NN）, Discriminant Analysis（DA）, Na?ve Bayes（NB） and Decision Tree（DT）. The Gray-Level Co-occurrence Matrix（GLCM） is used to extract the texture features of coconut wood images. Minimum Redundancy Maximum Relevance（m RMR） feature selection is used to improve accuracy of classifier. Experiment result shows that Decision Tree（DT） based on GLCM + m RMR gives the best accuracy rate at 84.12%, which is slightly better than 81.80% of KNN2 based on GLCM.

Potential use of nanofiltration like-forward osmosis membranes for copper ion removal

The discharge of industrial effluent containing heavy metal ions would cause water pollution if such effluent is not properly *** this work,the performance of emerging nanofiltration(NF)like-forward osmosis(FO)membrane was evaluated for its efficiency to remove copper ion from ***,copper ion is removed from aqueous solution via adsorption and/or ion-exchange *** engineered osmosis method as proposed in this work considered four commercial NF membranes(i.e.,NF90,DK,NDX and PFO)where their separation performances were accessed using synthetic water sample containing 100 mg·L-1 copper ion under FO and pressure retarded osmosis(PRO)*** findings indicated that all membranes could achieve almost complete removal of copper regardless of membrane orientation without applying external driving *** high removal rates were in good agreement with the outcomes of the membranes tested under pressuredriven mode at 1 *** use of appropriate salts as draw solutes enabled the NF membranes to be employed in engineered osmosis process,achieving a relatively low reverse solute *** findings showed that the best performing membrane is PFO membrane in which it achieved N 99.4%copper rejection with very minimum reverse solute flux of<1 g·m-2·h-1.

The viscosity of a substance or material is intensely influenced by the temperature,especially in the field of lubricant engineering where the changeable temperature is well *** this paper,the problem of temperature-dependent viscosity on mixed convection flow of Eyring Powell fluid was studied together with Newtonian heating thermal boundary *** flow was assumed to move over a vertical stretching *** model of the problem,which is in partial differential equations,was first transformed to ordinary differential equations using appropriate *** approach was considered to reduce the complexity of the ***,the transformed equations were solved using the Keller box method under the finite difference scheme *** validation process of the results was performed,and it was found to be in an excellent *** results on the present computation are shown in tabular form and also graphical *** major finding was observed where the skin friction and Nusselt number were boosted in the strong viscosity.

Surface physicochemical properties of semi-anthracitic coal from Painan-Sumatra during air oxidation

Painan coals of West Sumatra were selected as semi-anthracitic coal sample for studying the physicochemical properties such as measurement, evaluation and description of the changes of surface characteristic of coal sample and their oxidation in the atmospheric air at a temperature ranging from 105 to 400 ℃ for 30 min. Several methods are adopted to analyze and discuss several phenomena of the oxidized Painan coal surface during oxidation process for the change in the physicochemical properties as determined by Atomic Force Microscope （AFM）, contact angle, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy （FTIR）, Thermogravimetric and Differential Thermal Analysis （TG-DTA） analyses as well as other supporting analytical equipment. AFM analyses revealed some changes in adhesion force and surface morphology with more adhesion force available between 0.6 and 8.6 nN on polished coal surfaces due to the increased oxidation temperature. The study revealed that the extent of hydrophobicity of coal surface decreased with the increased of oxidation temperature expressed as contact angles at about 80° and 20°. Another phenomenon occurred during the experiment was hydrophilicity index of coal surface increase at approximately 1.3 and 2.9. Oxidation of coal that occurred with increased temperature also indicated an increase in oxygen content from 3.8% to 22.9 wt%. Increased oxygen functional group also noted that oxidation of coal took place during the treatment. We also found that oxidation treatment also affected the combustion properties of coal： decreasing ignition temperature between 452.9 and 317.6, lowering the reactivity of coal at maximum combustion rate temperature, and reflecting their char characteristics as burnt out, ranging from 652.3 to 648.5 ℃.

Cold shock domain(CSD)-containing proteins are one of the groups of the evolutionarily conserved nucleic acid-binding proteins in all three domains of life consisting of an ancient beta-barrel fold that serves to bind nucleic *** c DNA of a novel protein-coding gene containing CSD was cloned from Glaciozyma antarctica designated as *** full length of Ga16676 gene with the size of 1335 bp encodes for an N-terminal CSD with conserved nucleic acids binding motif RNP1 and *** Ga16676 gene was cloned in p ET30 Ek/LIC,sequenced,expressed and its resistance towards cold was *** protein expression of Ga16676 showed overexpressed soluble expression in both supernatant and pellet forms at 20℃.The effects of recombinant CSD protein overexpression on colony formation shows that *** cells were able to grow at 37℃and 20℃but not at 4℃while ***_Ga16676 cells were able to grow at all temperatures *** addition,***_Ga16676 cells showed higher growth rate compared to empty *** cells at 10℃.Structural analysis of Ga16676 reveals some interesting findings such as more aromatic interactions for efficient binding in low energy environment,a longer loop that may contribute to structural flexibility and clustering of charged amino acids on the protein surface that is important for protein stability and flexibility.

The prebiotic functions of chocolate to improve the function and health benefit of the chocolate when enriched with probiotics has not been fully *** study investigated the role of chocolates enriched with probiotics in the production of SCFAs and vitamin B_(12) during the in-vitro colonic *** probiotic bacteria were encapsulated using a mixture of cocoa powder(10%),FOS(2%)and Na-alginate(1%)before added to *** results revealed that encapsulated Lactobacillus plantarum and Bifidobacterium animalis *** BB12 produced significantly higher amounts(1876.5±105.16 and 1348.51±77.37 mmol,respectively)of acetic acid after 48h of colonic *** with encapsulated BB12,La5,Lactobacillus sanfranciscensis and Streptococcus thermophilus yielded higher amounts of propionic,isobutyric,butyric and isovaleric ***-chocolates with 70%cocoa produced significantly more acetic,propionic,and butyric acids than that of 45%***,Probiotic-chocolates with 45%cocoa produced greater amounts of vitamin B_(12) than 70%*** data demonstrate that probiotic-chocolate could be a functional snack with additional health benefits.
