To coordinate the resonant wavelength of the plasmonic nanoparticles(NPs),the emission band of the reduced graphene oxide(rGO)photodetector at the NIR-region is crucial for the optimal plasmon-enhanced luminescence in the *** contrast to monometallic NPs,where limits the dimensions and extended resonant wavelength,we integrated an Au-Ag bimetallic NPs(BMNPs)to enable resonance tuning at the longer wavelength at the excitation source of 785 *** features showed an increase in radiative recombination rates as well as the quantum yield efficiency of the *** BMNPs were produced from the dewetting process of 600℃and 500℃,both at 1 min after the deposition thickness layer of Au(8 nm)and Ag(10 nm)on the Si substrate using the electron-beam evaporation *** BMNPs-rGO photodetector exhibited the responsivity of 2.25 A·W^(–1),Jones of specific detectivity of 2.45×10^(11)Jones,and external quantum efficiency(EQE)of 356%.The rise time and fall time for the photodetector were 32 ns and 186 ns,*** work provided an essential information to enable the versatile plasmon-enhanced application in 2-dimensional(2D)material optoelectronic devices.

Juri is a biodiversity-rich primary forest in Bangladesh, which remains ecologically unexplored. We identified tree species and examined the richness, alpha（a）diversity and floristic similarity patterns within the identified communities. Vegetation and environmental data were sampled in 120（0.04 ha） study plots. Tree communities were delimited by two-way indicator species analysis（TWINSPAN）. In total, 78 tree species of 35 families and58 genera were identified. TWINSPAN identified six tree communities： A—Tricalysia singularis; B—Kydia calycina-Castanopsis tribuloides; C—Polyalthia simiarum-Duabanga grandiflora; D—Ficus roxburghii; E—Artocarpus lacucha; F—Artocarpus lacucha. Mean richness, Shannon and Gini-Simpson indices were highest for the Polyalthia simiarum-Duabanga grandiflora community, while Ficus roxburghii showed lowest diversity. Significant differences（p = 0.05） in three diversity indices were recorded between Polyalthia simiarum-Duabanga grandiflora and Ficus roxburghii. Tree compositional similarity was greatest between Kydia calycina-Castanopsis tribuloides and Polyalthia simiarum-Duabanga grandiflora（0.712）.

Adsorptive removal and dynamic interaction of three different pharmaceutical pollutants,namely rifampicin(RIF),streptomycin(STM),and ibuprofen(IBU)onto chitosan were systematically investigated using a batch adsorption technique at different processing *** this study,chitosan was derived from mud-crab shells,as an innovative way to use the waste from marine foods as *** kinetics,intraparticle diffusion,mechanism,and thermodynamics of the adsorption were systematically evaluated and analyzed using kinetic models,Boyd mass transfer and WebereMorris intraparticle diffusion models,Langmuir,Freundlich,DubinineRadushkevich,and Temkin isotherm models,and the Gibbs *** adsorption isotherm of the larger molecules,RIF and STM,could be explained by the Langmuir isotherm model,in contrast,that of IBU,which is a much smaller molecule,followed the Freundlich isotherm *** maximum adsorption capacity of RIF,STM,and IBU on chitosan was estimated to be 66.91 mg g^(-1),11.00 mg g^(-1),and 24.21 mg g^(-1),respectively,which are higher compared to those on a variety of agricultural wastes,suggesting that this biopolymer is a potential practical and economical adsorbent to remove the pharmaceutical compounds from *** adsorption mechanism of the pharmaceutical compounds on chitosan is proposed based on the vibrational spectroscopic analyses,XRD patterns,and DSC thermograms of the biopolymer before and after adsorption process.

BACKGROUND Recently, gut microbiota has been associated with various diseases other than intestinal disease. Thus, there has been rapid growth in the study of gut microbiota. Considering the numerous factors influencing gut microbiota such as age, diet, etc., area-based research is required. Indonesia has numerous different tribes and each of these tribes have different lifestyles. Hence, it is expected that each tribe has a specific gut microbiota. A deeper insight into the composition of gut microbiota can be used to determine the condition of gut microbiota in Indonesians and to consider which treatment may be suitable and effective to improve health *** To investigate the gut microbiota of Indonesian subjects represented by Javanese and Balinese tribes by analyzing fecal *** Fecal samples were collected from a total of 80 individuals with 20 in each of the young groups ranging from 25-45 years and the elderly group aged 70 years or more from two different regions, Yogyakarta and Bali. Fecal sample collection was performed at the end of the assessment period(day 14 ± 1 d) during which time the subjects were not allowed to consume probiotic or antibiotic *** quantification of various Clostridium subgroups, Lactobacillus subgroups,Enterococcus, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Bacteroides fragilis group and Prevotella,Bifidobacterium and Atopobium cluster, Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas was performed using the Yakult intestinal flora-scan(YIF-SCAN).RESULTS The bacterial population in younger subjects' feces was higher than that in the elderly population, with a total of approximately 10.0 – 10.6 log10 bacterial cells/g feces. The most abundant bacteria in all groups were Clostridium, followed by Prevotella, Atopobium, Bifidobacterium and Bacteroides. In the elderly, an increase in Enterobacteriaceae, Coliform and Escherichia coli was found. In terms of bacterial counts in Yogyakarta, total bacteria, Clostridium coccoides(C. coccoides)

Biochemical Traits and Physico-Chemical Attributes of Aromatic-Fine Rice in Relation to Yield Potential

Aromatic rice has great potential to attract rice consumer for its taste and deliciousness, and high price to boost up the economic condition of the rice grower in the developing countries. A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the morpho-physiological and biochemical attributes in relation to yield potentials of fine aromatic rice varieties in Bangladesh. Two aromatic fine rice cultivars, Ukunmadhu and Kataribough (local land races), one hybridized variety BRRIdhan-32 and one mutant variety Binasail were used in the experiment. The results revealed that rice varieties BRRIdhan-32 and Binasail showed the greater number of branches of panicle, grain size, grain yield and harvest index as compared to aromatic varieties. On the other hand, aromatic rice showed taller plant stature, more tiller, plant biomass and larger panicle but lower number of primary and secondary branches, grain size, yield and harvest index. The biochemical attributes namely chlorophyll and soluble protein content were higher at vegetative stage as compared to panicle initiation and flowering stages. The aromatic rice Kataribhough and Ukonmondhu contained higher amount of total free amino acid as compared to that of Binasail and BRRIdhan32. Other biochemical parameters namely nitrate reductase activity (NRA), total sugar and free amino acid contents were higher at flowering stage compared to those contained at tillering and panicle initiation stages. Physico-chemical properties of grain viz. length, breadth, L/B ratio, nitrogen (%) and protein (%) were significantly higher in fine rice as compared to aromatic rice. From the results it may be concluded that the high yielding varieties were more efficient in transfer of photosynthate to the grain i.e. economic yield and that is why BRRIdhan32 recorded the highest yield. Poor yield in Ukonmodhu and Kataribhough was due to low harvest index indicating minimum translocation of assimilates to the grains.

The emergence of novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2)has caused the global outbreak and major public health *** the outbreak human-to-human transmission was confirmed with or without symptoms of upper and lower respiratory tract *** to date,there has been evidence that COVID-19 is beyond that of a typical pulmonary disease and revealing pathomechanics of COVID-19-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome(CARDS),which include severe inflammation and pulmonary edema leading to impaired alveolar homeostasis,and resulting in an alteration of lung physiology,lung fibrosis,inflammation of endothelium,vascular thrombosis,as well as exaggerated immune re*** this pathophysiology,the use of quercetin as phytotherapeutic may merit in the management of COVID-19 *** this review,the authors wish to elaborate on the molecular effect of quercetin on SARS-CoV-2 by giving a detailed mechanism of quercetin against the binding of the S-protein of the virus to angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)receptors,the main protease(M^(pro))or 3C-like protease(3CL^(pro)),papain-like protease(PL^(pro)),and RNA-dependent RNA polymerase(RdRP).Recent clinical evidence supporting the use of quercetin in COVID-19 management is also discussed in this paper.

Microwave-assisted solvent extraction of castor oil from castor seeds

This study was aimed at evaluating the physicochemical properties and oxidation stability of castor oil using microwave-assisted solvent extraction(MAE). MAE was performed using 5% ethanol in hexane as solvent at different extraction times, power intensities and solvent-to-feed(S/F, ml of solvent to gram of feed) *** process parameters were optimized by statistical approach using historical data design of response surface method(RSM). The oils were characterized for yield, physicochemical properties, dielectric properties and oxidation stability, and comparison was also made with oil extracted using Soxhlet method. Results show that the maximum oil yield of 37% was obtained at 20 min with microwave power intensity of 330 W and S/F ratio of 20. The main fatty acid composition of castor oil is ricinoleic acid. The density, refractive index, dielectric properties and oxidation stability of oils are not affected by the extraction methods and extraction parameters of MAE. However, the MAE-extracted oil is more viscous compared to that by Soxhlet method. With extra caution on oil oxidation, MAE could be a promising solvent extraction method with an 86% less in processing time and a higher yield.

Effects of moisture damage on asphalt mixtures

The reduction in the ability of bitumen to bond with the aggregate surface due to the infiltration of moisture has been recognised for years, and this deterioration phenomenon is called moisture damage. In general, the loss of bonding between bitumen and aggregate shortens the service life of the top layer of the pavement. Many investigations have been conducted to understand the mechanisms of moisture damage due to the loss of bonding strength between bitumen and aggregate and to find ways to improve and strengthen the bond to mitigate the effect of moisture. This paper reviews the extensive literature on the loss of bitumen-aggregate bonding strength due to moisture damage in asphalt *** general description of the theories and mechanisms that explain the effect of the thermodynamic, chemical, physical and mechanical characteristics of the bitumen and aggregate on the bonding phenomenon are discussed in this paper. In addition, the causes of and contributing factors to moisture damage and methods to improve the bond between bitumen and aggregates are also discussed. Moreover, a description of the test methods that can be used to evaluate moisture damage in poorly bonded and compacted mixtures are also presented. Special attention is given to a well-known method, known as the pulloff test, which has been successfully used to evaluate aggregate-binder bond strength, both for laboratory and in-situ tests. This includes the test methods, the factors that affect the bonding strength results and their correlation with other test method. A review of the failure mode of bitumen under the pull-off loading test is discussed in the final section of this paper.
