Objective:To determine the barriers of joining in-vitro fertilization(IVF)programs among infertile couples in developing countries.Methods:This study assessed infertile couples and the barriers or associated factors resulting in delayed decision-making of joining IVF program by searching databases PubMed,ScienceDirect,EBSCO,ClinicalKey,and Cochrane Library from inception until December 31,2021.Additional search strategies were snowballing literature search and citation tracking.Results:Eleven articles were included in the scoping review.The cost was the greatest barrier of joining IVF program.Limited access and lack of assisted reproductive technology centers,few qualified infertility trained staff,insufficient government support,low priority in government policy,along with sociocultural factors,such as religion and false beliefs or myths were also majorly considered to be associated obstacles.Conclusions:The main barrier associated with IVF program among infertile couples in developing countries is the high cost of the IVF services.

Ocean thermal energy conversion(OTEC)is a process of generating electricity by exploiting the temperature difference between warm surface seawater and cold deep seawater.Due to the high static and dynamic pressures that are caused by seawater circulation,the stiffened panel that constitutes a seawater tank may undergo a reduction in ultimate strength.The current paper investigates the design of stiffening systems for OTEC seawater tanks by examining the effects of stiffening parameters such as stiffener sizes and span-over-bay ratio for the applied combined loadings of lateral and transverse pressure by fluid motion and axial compression due to global bending moment.The ultimate strength calculation was conducted by using the non-linear finite element method via the commercial software known as ABAQUS.The stress and deformation distribution due to pressure loads was computed in the first step and then brought to the second step,in which the axial compression was applied.The effects of pressure on the ultimate strength of the stiffener were investigated for representative stiffened panels,and the significance of the stiffener parameters was assessed by using the sensitivity analysis method.As a result,the ultimate strength was reduced by approximately 1.5%for the span-over-bay ratio of 3 and by 7%for the span-over-bay ratio of 6.

Cerebral intracranial aneurysms are serious problems that can lead to stroke,coma,and even death.The effect of blood flow on cerebral aneurysms and their relationship with rupture are unknown.In addition,postural changes and their relevance to haemodynamics of blood flow are difficult to measure in vivo using clinical imaging alone.Computational simulations investigating the detailed haemodynamics in cerebral aneurysms have been developed in recent times not only to understand the progression and rupture but also for clinical evaluation and treatment.In the present study,the haemodynamics of a patient-specific case of a large aneurysm on the left side internal carotid bifurcation(LICA)and no aneurysm on the right side internal carotid bifurcation(RICA)was investigated.The simulation of these patient-specific models using fluid–structure interaction provides a valuable comparison of flow behavior between normal and aneurysm models.The influences of postural changes were investigated during standing,sleeping,and head-down(HD)position.Significant changes in flow were observed during the HD position and quit high arterial blood pressure in the internal carotid artery(ICA)aneurysm model was established when compared to the normal ICA model.The velocity increased abruptly during the HD position by more than four times(LICA and RICA)and wall shear stress by four times(LICA)to ten times(RICA).The complex spiral flow and higher pressures prevailing within the dome increase the risk of aneurysm rupture.

Research on dynamics and stability of machin-ing operations has attracted considerable attention. Cur-rently, most studies focus on the forward solution ofdynamics and stability in which material properties and thefrequency response function at the tool tip are known topredict stable cutting conditions. However, the forwardsolution may fail to perform accurately in cases whereinthe aforementioned information is partially known or var-ies based on the process conditions, or could involve sev-eral uncertainties in the dynamics. Under thesecircumstances, inverse stability solutions are immenselyuseful to identify the amount of variation in the effectivedamping or stiffness acting on the machining system. Inthis paper, the inverse stability solutions and their use forsuch purposes are discussed through relevant examples andcase studies. Specific areas include identification of processdamping at low cutting speeds and variations in spindledynamics at high rotational speeds.

The aim of this study was to determine how well the landslide susceptibility parameters,obtained by data-dependent statistical models,matched with the parameters used in the literature.In order to achieve this goal,20 different environmental parameters were mapped in a well-studied landslide-prone area,the Asarsuyu catchment in northwest Turkey.A total of 4400 seed cells were generated from 47 different landslides and merged with different attributes of 20 different environmental causative variables into a database.In order to run a series of logistic regression models,different random landslide-free sample sets were produced and combined with seed cells.Different susceptibility maps were created with an average success rate of nearly 80%.The coherence among the models showed spatial correlations greater than 90%.Models converged in the parameter selection peculiarly,in that the same nine of 20 were chosen by different logistic regression models.Among these nine parameters,lithology,geological structure(distance/density),landcover-landuse,and slope angle were common parameters selected by both the regression models and literature.Accuracy assessment of the logistic models was assessed by absolute methods.All models were field checked with the landslides resulting from the 12 November 1999,Kaynas¸li Earthquake(Ms7.2).

Stress is a normal reaction of the human organism which triggered in situations that require a certain level of activation.This reaction has both positive and negative effects on everyone’s life.Therefore,stress management is of vital importance in maintaining the psychological balance of a person.Thermal-based imaging technique is becoming popular among researchers due to its non-contact conductive nature.Moreover,thermal-based imaging has shown promising results in detecting stress in a non-contact and non-invasive manner.Compared to other non-contact stress detection methods such as pupil dilation,keystroke behavior,social media interaction and voice modulation,thermal-based imaging provides better features with clear boundaries and requires no heavy methodology.This paper presented a brief review of previous work on thermal imaging related stress detection in humans.This paper also presented the stages of stress detection based on thermal face signatures such as dataset type,thermal image face detection,feature descriptors and classification performance comparisons are presented.This paper can help future researchers to understand stress detection based on thermal imaging by presenting the popular methods previous researchers use for stress detection based on thermal images.

The thermal-based imaging technique has recently attracted the attention of researchers who are interested in the recognition of human affects dueto its ability to measure the facial transient temperature, which is correlated withhuman affects and robustness against illumination changes. Therefore, studieshave increasingly used the thermal imaging as a potential and supplemental solution to overcome the challenges of visual (RGB) imaging, such as the variation oflight conditions and revealing original human affect. Moreover, the thermal-basedimaging has shown promising results in the detection of psychophysiological signals, such as pulse rate and respiration rate in a contactless and noninvasive way.This paper presents a brief review on human affects and focuses on the advantages and challenges of the thermal imaging technique. In addition, this paper discusses the stages of thermal-based human affective state recognition, such asdataset type, preprocessing stage, region of interest (ROI), feature descriptors,and classification approaches with a brief performance analysis based on a number of works in the literature. This analysis could help beginners in the thermalimaging and affective recognition domain to explore numerous approaches usedby researchers to construct an affective state system based on thermal imaging.

Coagulation of a giant hemangioma in glans penis with holmium laser

A 21-year-old man presented with an enlarged giant hemangioma on glans penis which also causes an erectile dysfunction （ED） that partially responded to the intracavernous injection stimulation test. Although the findings in magnetic resonance imaging （MRI） indicated a glandular hemangioma, penile colored Doppler ultrasound revealed an invaded cavernausal hemangioma to the glans. Surgical excision was avoided according to the broad extension of the gland lesion. Holmium laser coagulation was applied to the lesion due to the cosmetically concerns. However, the cosmetic results after holmium laser application was not impressive as expected without an improvement in intracavernous injection stimulation test. In conclusion, holmium laser application should not be used to the hemangiomas of glans penis related to the corpus cavernosum, but further studies are needed to reveal the effects of holmium laser application in small hemangiomas restricted to the glans penis.

A municipal solid waste(MSW)management system needs solid waste management(SWM)techniques where the presence of a sanitary landfill is vital.One of the most important issues of sanitary landfilling is to locate the facility to an optimal location.Despite the versatility and case-dependent nature of conventional expert-based site selection procedures,the number of sites to be chosen increases with increased population forcing a number of constraints.Consequently,constraints and environmental regulations mechanically mask unsuitable areas,leaving very little areas to be assessed.This turns the situation into a challenging issue for a geographical information system(GIS)used with multicriteria decision analysis(MCDA),to select optimal site.The study aims to apply MCDA integrated with GIS to select possible sites of a MSW landfill with the same expert and same cognitive parameters while compared with the already present one.Results of this study revealed that conventional expert-based methods could not always evaluate all constraints at the same time and map reproduction is limited when parameter maps are changing rapidly in time.In order to produce cognitive and reproducible analyses,GIS with MCDA integration offers a good solution for site selection issue and forms a good alternative for conventional methods.
