A consensus meeting of national experts from all major national hepatobiliary centres in the country was held on May 26,2023,at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute&Research Centre(PKLI&RC)after initial consultations with the *** Pakistan Society for the Study of Liver Diseases(PSSLD)and PKLI&RC jointly organised this *** effort was based on a comprehensive literature review to establish national practice guidelines for hilar cholangiocarcinoma(hCCA).The consensus was that hCCA is a complex disease and requires a multidisciplinary team approach to best manage these *** coordinated effort can minimise delays and give patients a chance for curative treatment and effective *** diagnostic and staging workup includes high-quality computed tomography,magnetic resonance imaging,and magnetic resonance *** cytology or biopsy utilizing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography is a mainstay for ***,histopathologic confirmation is not always required before *** ultrasound with fine needle aspiration of regional lymph nodes and positron emission tomography scan are valuable adjuncts for *** only curative treatment is the surgical resection of the biliary tree based on the Bismuth-Corlette *** patients with unresectable hCCA can be considered for liver *** chemotherapy should be offered to patients with a high risk of *** use of preoperative biliary drainage and the need for portal vein embolisation should be based on local multidisciplinary *** with acute cholangitis can be drained with endoscopic or percutaneous biliary *** chemotherapy with cisplatin and gemcitabine has shown improved survival in patients with irresectable and recurrent hCCA.

Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L.) germplasm consisting 167 accessions including one check cultivar was evaluated for qualitative and quantitative traits. The present study was conducted to investigate genetic diversity and correlation among studied genotypes of B. juncea L. based on agro-morphological at NARC, Islamabad, Pakistan. To investigate the genetic diversity based on morphological characters, data was recorded on 20 quantitative and 12 qualitative traits. The calculated data was analyzed through two complementary methods, i.e. PCA (Principal Component Analysis) and cluster analysis. Among all the studied cultivars, significant diversity was recorded for different agro-morphological characters. Among all the parameters, maximum variance was recorded for pod shattering (427.2) followed by plant height (345.6), days to 100% flowering (336.2) and main raceme length (210.0). Among all the characters, the greatest and highly significant association (0.99) was found between days to maturity 50% and days to maturity 100% followed by correlation (0.86) among days to flowering 50% and days to flowering 100%, correlation value (0.71) was calculated among leaf length and leaf width. Using cluster analysis all the genotypes were divided into five major groups. It was observed that 7 out of 20 principal components with an Eigen value of ≥1.0 calculated for 73.92% of the total diversity observed between 167 accessions of Indian mustard (B. juncea L.). The contribution of first three PCs in the total PCs was 23.25, 12.87 and 11.24, respectively. Among all the investigated accessions two genotypes 26,813 and 26,817 showed great potential for seeds/silique, 1000-seed weight and seed yield/plant, respectively, so these genotypes are recommended for future breeding programs for achieving promising results.

Al7075-Cu composite joints were prepared by the squeeze overcast *** effects of melt temperature,die temperature,and squeeze pressure on hardness and ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of squeeze overcast Al7075-Cu composite joints were *** experimental results depict that squeeze pressure is the most significant process parameter affecting the hardness and *** optimal values of UTS(48 MPa)and hardness(76 HRB)are achieved at a melt temperature of 800℃,a die temperature of 250℃,and a squeeze pressure of 90 *** electron microscopy(SEM)shows that fractured surfaces show flatfaced morphology at the optimal experimental ***-dispersive spectroscopy(EDS)analysis depicts that the atomic weight percentage of Zn decreases with an increase in melt temperature and squeeze *** optimal mechanical properties of the Al7075-Cu overcast joint were achieved at the Al2Cu eutectic phase due to the large number of copper atoms that dispersed into the aluminum melt during the solidification process and the formation of strong intermetallic *** relational analysis integrated with the Taguchi method was used to develop an optimal set of control variables for multi-response parametric *** tests were performed to validate the effectiveness of the employed *** manufacturing of squeeze overcast Al7075-Cu composite joints at optimal process parameters delivers a great indication to acknowledge a new method for foundry practitioners to manufacture materials with superior mechanical properties.

Glaucoma is a progressive eye disease that can lead to blindness if left *** detection is crucial to prevent vision loss,but current manual scanning methods are expensive,time-consuming,and require specialized *** study presents a novel approach to Glaucoma detection using the Enhanced Grey Wolf Optimized Support Vector Machine(EGWO-SVM)*** proposed method involves preprocessing steps such as removing image noise using the adaptive median filter(AMF)and feature extraction using the previously processed speeded-up robust feature(SURF),histogram of oriented gradients(HOG),and Global *** enhanced Grey Wolf Optimization(GWO)technique is then employed with SVM for *** evaluate the proposed method,we used the online retinal images for glaucoma analysis(ORIGA)database,and it achieved high accuracy,sensitivity,and specificity rates of 94%,92%,and 92%,*** results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms other current algorithms in detecting the presence or absence of *** study provides a novel and effective approach to Glaucoma detection that can potentially improve the detection process and outcomes.

Cracking failure of cement-treated base(CTB)has always been the concern of highway *** cracking analysis is an important means to study the damage degradation mechanism,which is difficult to be characterized by experimental techniques *** objective of this paper is to develop a random aggregate modelling method to simulate the mesoscopic cracking of CTB material.A minimum rectangle area method was proposed to calculate the polygon aggregate size,which is closer to the sieving analysis than the average radius method.A buffer zone method was proposed to determine the distance between randomly generated polygon *** on the proposed random algorithm,finite element method(FEM)was adopted to build the mesoscopic model of CTB including aggregate,mortar,interfacial transition zone(ITZ)and air *** tests were conducted to validate the numerical *** the sensitivity analyses were conducted to study the influencing factors on cracking *** simulation results indicate that the higher aggregate content and the finer gradation lead to the increase of ITZ,thus reducing the cracking resistance of the CTB *** porosity content is able to significantly reduce the stress concentration and thus improves the cracking *** research results of this paper could be used to guide the crack resistant design of CTB material.

Manufacturing feature-based cost estimation of cast parts

Seventy percent of new product cost is committed in the design phase. Therefore, the cost needs to be minimized. Incorporating accurate cost estimation capabilities into manufacturing processes can help industries to minimize the cost and optimize the design. The casting process has been employed as a key process to manufacture parts having the advantage of low cost and customized products in foundry industry. This paper presents a cost estimation system for the casting process based on the design features, which incorporates the casting information at the design stage of castings. It aims to deliver the best cost-effective choice for casting design features of a product. Two kinds of knowledge, namely economical knowledge(describing the relation between the casting design considerations and the cost) and technical knowledge(involving the material of the casting features) were structured in this research work. On the basis of the minimum product cost, casting material selection can be carried out in detail. The developed system has been validated through an industrial case study.

作为抗渗透破坏的关键工程措施,反滤层被广泛应用于各种水工建筑物和岩土工程构筑物。基于各种反滤准则的反滤料包线设计方法,为反滤层的设计提供了直观依据。本文总结分析了国内外相关规范中反滤料包线设计方法的应用和存在的问题,提出了改进的反滤料包线设计方法。该方法通过引入自愈指标,对反滤料包线的上半部分进行约束,使得设计反滤料有效避免了潜在的渗透破坏风险,并且反滤料包线更加完整和直观。通过对已有文献中反滤试验结果进行验证和工程实例的应用分析表明,改进的反滤料包线设计方法对于各种不同的被保护土料均能显著区分出有效和无效的反滤料,其可靠性更高。这种改进的反滤料包线设计方法进一步完善了反滤料的设计思路,也为相关规范的修订提供了参考。

人们总是很好奇公司的股利政策,因为它体现了公司的财务健康状况,吸引着投资者的注意力。关于这方面的许多决定因素先前已经有了一些研究。研究旨在探究公司股利政策和它的银行关系之间的显著联系,这是尚待解决的一个关键问题。试图解释公司-银行关系及其对客户公司的股利支付的影响。针对上述原因,收集了在卡拉奇证券交易所上市的公司2008-2013年的数据。对于银行-公司的关系,使用了两个变量:一个虚拟变量用于银行关系(1,如果银行关系的数量超过0,否则为5),第二个变量是公司与银行保持的关系的实际数。对这些变量进行回归分析,大部分变量主要作为控制变量决定股利支付。结果发现,尽管系数低,但银行-公司关系采用的两个变量在5%的显著水平上显著。政策制定者和投资者可以考虑这些关系,作为他们决策的一个重要因素。这些研究也为以后的研究提供新思路。
