We propose a polarization-insensitive design of a hybrid plasmonic waveguide(HPWG)optimized at the 3.392µm wavelength which corresponds to the absorption line of methane *** waveguide design is capable of providing high mode sensitivity(Smode)and evanescent field ratio(EFR)for both transverse electric(TE)and transverse magnetic(TM)hybrid *** modal analysis of the waveguide is performed via 2-dimension(2D)and 3-dimension(3D)finite element methods(FEMs).At optimized waveguide parameters,Smode and EFR of 0.94 and 0.704,can be obtained for the TE hybrid mode,respectively,whereas the TM hybrid mode can offer Smode and EFR of 0.86 and 0.67,*** TE and TM hybrid modes power dissipation of~3 dB can be obtained for a 20-µm-long hybrid plasmonic waveguide at the 60%gas *** believe that the highly sensitive waveguide scheme proposed in this work overcomes the limitation of the polarization controlled light and can be utilized in gas sensing applications.

Herein,an attention-grabbing and up-to-date review related to major multiplexing techniques is presented which in-cludes wavelength division multiplexing(WDM),polarization division multiplexing(PDM),space division multiplexing(SDM),mode division multiplexing(MDM)and orbital angular momentum multiplexing(OAMM).Multiplexing is a mech-anism by which multiple signals are combined into a shared channel used to showcase the maximum capacity of the op-tical ***,it is critical to develop hybrid multiplexing methods to allow enhanced channel *** this re-view,we have also included hybrid multiplexing techniques such as WDM-PDM,WDM-MDM and *** is prob-able to attain N×M channels by utilizing N wavelengths and M guided-modes by simply utilizing hybrid WDM-MDM(de)*** the best of our knowledge,this review paper is one of its kind which has highlighted the most prom-inent and recent signs of progress in multiplexing techniques in one place.

Rise in environmental pollution is a critical problem faced by mankind *** interventions have been made to reduce the carbon emissions and other greenhouse ***,such as the introduction of electric cars,and innovative techniques to harness energy from renewable sources have been *** is also very focused on exploiting its renewable energy sources and many sources have been *** energy is considered to have a promising potential and numerous sites have been identified for installation of wind *** this paper,we have collected data for the sites with the capacity factor(key determinant of value of power plant)of 25%or above for 600 kW wind turbine and applied Multi-Criteria Decision Method to find the most suitable to least suitable site for the installation of wind farm with respect to different factors/*** Hierarchy Process is used to evaluate four potential sites based on the criteria of wind speed(m/s),wind power density(W/m^(2)),distance from grid station(km),capacity factor,transport cost and population *** show that the preference of site largely depends on the average annual wind speed and wind power *** study is helpful for government as they verify the findings of Pakistan Meteorological Department but with different approach.

This paper examines the long-and short-run dynamics of asymmetric adjustment between the nominal exchange rate and commodity prices,namely oil,palm oil,rubber,and natural gas prices,in Malaysia using monthly data from January 1994 to December *** relationship between exchange rate and each commodity price is examined in terms of Engle-Granger and threshold *** estimated results provide evidence of long-run threshold cointegration and show that the adjustments towards the long-run equilibrium position are asymmetric in the short ***,this study finds evidence of a unidirectional causal relationship running from the nominal exchange rate to oil price in the long and short run using a spectral frequency domain causality *** is also empirical evidence of bidirectional causality between the nominal exchange rate and palm oil price,rubber price,and natural gas price in the long and short ***,the findings have significant implications for the current debate on the future of primary commodities in Malaysia.

Transition Metal Oxides have drawn significant attention due to their reversible chemical redox reaction and long-life *** agglomeration and shrinkage/expansion of transition metal oxides in the nanosize regime have a noticeable effect on their electrochemical *** in this work,mesoporous nanowires(NWs)with a typical composition of iron-nickel-cobalt ternary oxide(FNCO)are synthesized using a simple,facile and cost-effective hydrothermal process followed by furnace *** NWs are then extensively investigated as an electrode material for supercapacitor *** compare the electrochemical properties,nanowires of nickel-cobalt oxide(NCO),iron-cobalt oxide(FCO)and cobalt oxide(CO)were also produced by following the same *** FNCO NWs are found to overcome the shortcomings in the electrochemical energy storage devices by exhibiting higher values of specific capacitance(2197 Fg^(-1))and energy density(109 Whkg^(-1))at 1 Ag^(-1) current ***,the FNCO NWs also showed a cyclic charge/discharge stability of 96%even up to 20,000 ***,a FNCO//graphene asymmetric device,fabricated with FNCO NWs and graphene as positive and negative electrodes,respectively,which exhibit high energy density(47 Whkg^(-1)),power density(375 Wkg^(-1))and excellent capacitance retention(86%)after 15,000 cycles.

Corner cube retroreflectors(CCRs)have applications in sensors,image processing,free space communication and wireless *** ability to construct low-loss wavelength filters embedded in CCRs can enable the development of wavelength multiplexing,tunable lasers and photonic integrated *** we created an~10-μm-thick holographic corner cube retroreflector(HCCR)array that acted as a color-selective wavelength filter and diffracted light at broad ***-resolved spectral measurements showed that the Bragg peak of the diffracted light from the HCCR array could be tuned from 460 to 545 nm by varying the incident *** HCCR array also exhibited a wavelength-selective tuning capability based on the rotation angle in the visible *** projected holographic images with the rotational property in the far *** utility of the HCCR was demonstrated as optical temperature and relative humidity sensors that produced a visible colorimetric response for rapid diagnostics.

BACKGROUND Cardiogenic shock(CS)is a life-threatening complication of acute myocardial infarction with high morbidity and mortality *** percutaneous coro-nary intervention(PCI)has been shown to improve outcomes in patients with *** To investigate the immediate mortality rates in patients with CS undergoing primary PCI and identify mortality *** We conducted a retrospective analysis of 305 patients with CS who underwent primary PCI at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases,Karachi,Pak-istan,between January 2018 and December *** primary outcome was immediate mortality,defined as mortality within index ***-variate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to identify predictors of immediate *** In a sample of 305 patients with 72.8%male patients and a mean age of 58.1±11.8 years,the immediate mortality rate was found to be 54.8%(167).Multivariable analysis identified Killip class IV at presentation[odds ratio(OR):2.0;95%co-nfidence interval(CI):1.2-3.4;P=0.008],Multivessel disease(OR:3.5;95%CI:1.8-6.9;Pality rate in patients with CS undergoing primary PCI remains high despite advances in treatment *** class IV at presentation,multivessel disease,and high thrombus burden(grade≥4)were identified as independent predictors of immediate *** findings underscore the need for aggressive management and close monitoring of patients with CS undergoing primary PCI,particularly in those with these high-risk characteristics.
