Petrogenesis and Tectonic Implications of the Jabal Hadb Ad Dayheen Granitic Complex, Central Arabian Shield

The Jabal Hadb Ad Dayheen granitic complex in central Saudi Arabia is an alkaline granitic ring complex associated with a collapsed caldera. It mainly consists of monzogranite in the center, biotite-hornblende porphyritic granite, and biotite-aegirine-riebeckite granite, intruded by some felsic and mafic dikes. The petrological and geochemical characteristics show that the granitic suites consist of metalminous-peralkaline A-type granites. The secondary ion mass spectrometry(SImS) zircon U-Pb analysis yielded ^(206)Pb/^(238)U ages of 613.3 ± 8.1 – 603.8 ± 3.8, 602.4 ± 3.8, 596 ± 5.6 ma for biotitehornblende porphyritic granite, microgranite, and biotite-aegirine-riebeckite granite, respectively. The trace element characteristics and positive ε_(Hf)(t) values(3.2–12.2) indicate that the granitic rocks of the Dayheen Ring Complex are mainly derived from the juvenile crust with the involvement of mantlederived materials. Combined with the regional tectonic evolution, the formation of the Dayheen Ring Complex mainly covered four periods:(1) subduction initiation and formation of arc terranes(870–620 ma)—volcanic craters formed during this period provided the channel for alkaline complex intrusion;(2) collision between East and West Gondwana continents and formation of the north East African Orogen(640–613 ma)—monzogranite stock at the center of the ring complex emplaced during this period;(3) post-collision extension and collapse(613–602 ma)—red metaluminous biotite-hornblende porphyritic granite and microgranite sheets in the rim of the Dayheen Ring Complex emplaced during this period;(4) within-plate extension(602 – 545 ma) —white peralkaline biotite-aegirine-riebeckite granite and plenty of felsic and mafic dikes in the rim mainly formed during this period. Nitrogen (N) is a crucial nutrient vital for the growth and productivity of maize. However, excessive nitrogen application can result in numerous environmental and ecological problems, such as water pollution, biodiversity loss, and greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, breeding maize hybrids resilient to low nitrogen conditions is crucial for sustainable agriculture, especially under low nitrogen conditions. Consequently, this study aimed to evaluate the combining ability and heterosis of maize lines, recognize promising hybrids, and study gene action controlling key traits under low and recommended N stress conditions. The half-diallel mating design hybridized seven maize inbreds, resulting in 21 F1 hybrids. These hybrids, along with two high-yielding commercial hybrids (SC10 and TWC310), were evaluated in field trials under recommended (290 kg/ha) and low N (166 kg N/ha) conditions. Significant variations were observed among assessed hybrids for all measured traits, with non-additive gene action being predominant for grain yield and its related characteristics under recommended and low N conditions. Inbred lines P105 and P106 were recognized as effective combiners for earliness, with P105 also excelling in shorter plant height and lower ear placement. In addition, P101, P102, and P104 were identified as good combiners for increasing grain yield and related attributes under low N conditions. The crosses P105 × P106 and P106 × P107 demonstrated outstanding heterotic effects for earliness, while hybrids P101 × P102 and P102 × P104 exhibited remarkable heterotic effects for grain yield low nitrogen stress conditions. These promising hybrids could be considered for commercial use after further evaluation. Strong positive correlations were found between grain yield and ear height, plant height, number of kernels per row, and 1000-grain weight, highlighting their importance for indirect selection to enhance the grain yield of maize under low N stress conditions.

La3+ substitution-adjusted magnetic and optical properties with enhanced photocatalytic activity and stability of copper zinc nickel ferrites for wastewater treatment applications

Copper-zinc-nickel（Cu-Zn-Ni） ferrite nanoparticles are used for wastewater treatment ***,low degradation efficiency and stability are two main issues that make them unsuitable for actual production *** this paper,the citrate-nitrate auto-combustion method was applied for the formation of Cu0.5Zn0.25Ni0.25LaxFe2-xO4;（0≤x≤0.1;step 0.02）(CZNL) *** the substitution process entails the replacement of a small ion with a larger one,the lattice constant and crystallite size does not exhibit a consistent incremental *** behavior is justified and *** size of all the CZNL ferrite nanoparticles is in the range of 8-12 nm,and the lattice constant is in the range of 8.6230 to 8.4865 *** morphological analysis conducted using field emission-scanning electron microscopy（FE-SEm） reveals that the CZNL exhibits agglomerated spherical *** energy dispersive X-ray spectrameter（EDAX） analysis was employed to confirm the elemental composition of CZNL *** the process entails the substitution of Fe3+magnetic ions with nonmagnetic ions La3+,the magnetic parameters of CZNL nanoferrites show a general decreasing trend as *** 20 K,saturation magnetization ms shows an overall drop in its values from 59.302 emu/g at x=0.0-41.295 emu/g at x=0.1,the smallest value of 37.87 emu/g is recorded at x=*** highest coercivity（Hc=125.9 Oe） and remanence（mr=13.32 emu/g） are recorded for x=0.08 and x=0.04 nanoferrite,*** band gap of all the CZNL nanoferrites was determined using the Kubelka-munk function and Tauc plot for direct permitted *** doping modifies the band gap（within 1.86-1.75 eV）,increases light absorption,induces efficient e/h separation and charge migration to *** nanoferrite Cu0.5Zn0.25Ni0.25La0.06Fe1.94O4achieves a degradation efficiency of 97.3% for methylene blue（mB） dye removal after just 60 *** five recycling processes,the nanoc

We demonstrated a new type of mAX phase material,chromium titanium.aluminum carbide(Cr_(2)TialC_(2)) polymer film,to generate a passively Q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser(EDFL).The film thickness was measured to be around 45 μm,which was fabricated using the embedding method with polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) polymer as *** saturable absorber(SA) film demonstrates a dual-wavelength passively Q-switched EDFL which operates at 1 531 nm and 1 560.19 nm,*** Q-switching pulse duration could be varied from 2.46 μs to 770 ns,while the repetition rate varied from 92.76 kHz to 106.6 kHz with an increasing input pumping range from 154 mW to 300 *** maximum output power and pulse energy of 15.05 mW and 141.18 nJ were obtained at the maximum input power of 300 mW,respectively.

Structural,dielectric and magnetic properties of terbium doped strontium spinel ferrite（SrFe2O4） synthesized by sol-gel method

In this research work,sol-gel technique was employed to prepare the strontium based spinel ferrite nanoparticles（SrFe2O4） with different ratios of terbium（Tb）.Different characterization techniques were used to investigate the structural,morphological,dielectric and magnetic properties of the prepared samples.X-ray diffraction（XRD） result suggests that face-centered cube spinel nanocrystalline structure is *** size of the SrFe2O4decreases with rising of Tb *** morphology,shape and size of the SrFe2O4were examined by scanning electron microscopy（SEm） analysis and results reveal inhomogeneous distributions of the nanostructures with high *** electrical resistivity of the SrFe2O4increases with rising of Tb ratio,which is confirmed from the cyclic *** is observed that dielectric constant of all the samples decreases with the increasing frequency *** is determined that the dielectric constants of the spinel ferrites are frequency dependent and decrease with increasing the frequency of applied electric *** magnetic behavior of SrFe2O4with different ratios of Tb was studied and it is found that the saturation magnetization values of samples decrease with increase in the substitution of Tb3+at octahedral sites for Fe3+.This decrease in the values of msis also attributed to spin at surface of nanoparticles.

A process for purifying aqueous solutions containing heavy and toxic metals such as chromium(Cr) has been *** of the extremely harmful pollutants in rivers and seawater is the heavy metal ions due to their direct impacts on human,animals and plants are hexavalent Cr(Ⅵ).Consequently,highly sensitive sensor to detect Cr is *** plasmon resonance(SPR) technique has attracted huge research interest in detecting heavy metals *** this study,three types of prism-based SPR sensor,gold(Au)/silver(Ag),Au/polyaniline(PANI) and Au/titanium dioxide(TiO_(2)) nanostructured films,are investigated as potential sensing material to detect the presence of Cr(Ⅵ) ions in *** base Au layer with thickness of 48.3 nm is deposited on a glass slide for all *** Au/Ag,Au/PANI nanofibers and Au/TiO_(2) sensor films,the Cr(Ⅵ) concentration is varied from 1 ppm to 15 ppm with sensitivity of 0.270 °ppm^(-1),0.082 °ppm^(-1) and 0.039 °ppm^(-1),*** on these results,the Au/PANI nanofibers are the most sensitive to Cr(Ⅵ) among the tested sensing materials.

Role of Air Staging in a Batch-Type Fixed Bed Biomass Combustor under Constant Primary Air

Staged combustion of biomass is the most suitable thermo-chemical conversion for achieving lower gaseous emissions and higher fuel conversion *** a staged fixed bed combustion of biomass,combustion air is supplied in two *** the first stage,primary air is provided below the fuel,whereas in the later stage,secondary air is supplied in the freeboard *** available literature on the effects of air staging(secondary air location) at a constant primary air flow rate on combustion characteristics in a batch-type fixed bed combustor is limited and hence warrants further *** study resolves the effect of air staging,by varying the location of secondary air in the freeboard at five secondary to total air ratios in a batch-type fixed bed *** are reported for the effects of these controlled parameters on fuel conversion rate,overall gaseous emissions(CO_(2),CO and NO_x) and temperature *** fuel used throughout was densified hardwood *** show that a primary freeboard length(distance between fuel bed top and secondary air injection) of200 mm has higher fuel conversion rates and temperatures as well as lower CO emissions,at a secondary to total air ratio of 0.75 as compared to primary freeboard length of 300 ***,NO_x emissions were found to be lower for a primary freeboard length of 300 mm as compared to 200 *** increase in secondary to total air ratio from 0.33 to 0.75 resulted in higher freeboard temperatures and lower CO as well as NO_x *** outcomes of this study will be helpful in the effective design of commercial scale biomass combustors for more efficient and environmentally friendly combustion.
