、Background:Using health coaching to improve the quality of life and health outcomes of the patients with diabetes mellitus,has emerged as a possible ***,the few published randomized controlled trials using health coaching for patients with diabetes mellitus have reported mixed *** present meta-analysis aimed to determine the effectiveness of health coaching on modifying health status and quality of life among diabetic patients and to clarify the characteristics of coaching delivery that make it most ***:This study searched for articles on randomized controlled trials of health coaching interventions targeting type 2 diabetic patients that were published in the English language from January 2005 through December 2018 in the Cochrane,Medline,PubMed,Trip,and Embase *** in the control group received usual diabetes mellitus care,and those in the experimental group received health coaching based on usual diabetes mellitus *** primary outcomes included Hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)and cardiovascular disease risk factors,including systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure,triglyceride,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,total cholesterol,and body *** secondary outcomes included quality of life,self-efficacy,self-care skills,and psychological ***:Health coaching intervention has a significant effect on HbA1c[mean difference(MD)=-0.35,confidence interval(CI)=-0.47,-0.22,I2=83%,P<0.001]and HDL-C(MD=-0.50,CI=-0.93,-0.07,I2=10%,P=0.02).The most effective strategy for health coaching delivery associated with improvement of HbA1c was decreasing the number of sessions and increasing the duration of each ***,no significant difference was found for weight,SBP,diastolic blood pressure,triglyceride,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,or total *** results were reported for the effect of health coaching on quality of life,self-efficacy,self-

Assessment of Image Quality Parameters for Computed Tomography in Sudan

X-ray-computed tomography (CT) has become one of the most important investigation procedures worldwide. The study aimed to assess image quality parameters, mainly noise, and radiation doses during abdominal examination. This study examined the diagnostic parameters (kilo voltage, tube current time product, slice thickness, and pitch) and their effects on image quality as well as the radiation doses received from computed tomography scanners using phantom. The study carried out in four CT centers in Sudan. The study applied prospective and experimental methods. The study demonstrated there was a linear correlation between diagnostic parameters and image noise. The reduction in milli-ampere second and peak kilo voltage increased the image noise. Moreover increasing the pitch led to an increase in the image noise, whereas increasing the slice thickness, reduced the image noise. There was also a linear relationship between kilo voltage and radiation dose at Elnileen diagnostic center characterized by an increase kilo voltages values which led to an increase in the radiation dose by 92% and a reduction in the image noise by 83%. However, at Antalya medical center, increasing in kilo voltage values led to an increase in the radiation dose by 35% and a reduction in the image noise by 26%. Also increasing in milli-ampere second values led to an increase in the radiation dose by 49% and a reduction in the image noise by 46% in a phantom compared with an increase in radiation dose by 82% and a reduction in the image noise by 51% in patients .The study found that an optimal protocol for adult abdominal scan at Antalya medical center was 4.22HU for image noise and 10.45 mGy for radiation dose when using 120 kVp, 300 mAs, 5 mm slice thickness and pitch of 0.8. At Elnileen diagnostic center, however, the optimal protocol was 5.4 HU for image noise and 5.4 mGy for radiation dose using 130 kVp, 50 mAs, 10 mm slice thickness and pitch of 2. Biochemical and radiological predictors of malignant biliary strictures

AIM: Differentiation of benign biliary strictures (BBS) from malignant biliary strictures (MBS) remains difficult despite improvement in imaging and endoscopic techniques. The aim of this study was to identify the clinical, biochemical and or radiological predictors of malignant biliary ***: We retrospectively reviewed all charts of patients who had biliary strictures (BS) on endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) or percutaneous cholangiography (PTC) in case of unsuccessful ERCP from March 1998 to August 2002. Patient characteristics, clinical features, biochemical, radiological and biopsy results were all recorded. Stricture etiology was determined based on cytology,biopsy or clinical follow-up. A receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve was constructed to determine the optimal laboratory diagnostic criterion threshold in predicting ***: One hundred twenty six patients with biliary strictures were enrolled, of which 72 were malignant. The mean age for BBS was 53 years compared to 62.4 years for MBS (P=0.0006). Distal bile duct stricture was mainly due to a malignant process 48.6% vs 9% (P=0.001). Alkaline phosphates and AST levels were more significantly elevated in MBS (P=0.0002). ROC curve showed that a bilirubin level of 84 μmol/L or more was the most predictive of MBS with a sensitivity of 98.6%, specificity of 59.3% and a positive likelihood ratio of 2.42 (95% CI=0.649-0.810). Proximal biliary dilatation was more frequently encountered in MBS compared to BBS, 73.8% vs39.5% (P=0.0001). Majority of BBS (87%) and MBS (78%) were managed ***: A serum bilirubin level of 84 μmol/L or greater is the best predictor of MBS. Older age, proximal biliary dilatation, higher levels of bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, ALT and AST are all associated with MBS. ERCP is necessary to diagnose and treat benign and malignant biliary strictures.

Background: Breast lymphomas are typical extranodal types of lymphoma, also known as Extranodal-lymphoma (ENL), which occur extremely infrequently, aggregating into a very small proportion of malignant breast tumors. The rarity of breast lymphomas is attributed to the scant lymphoid tissue content of the chest wall. Aims of Study: This case report is aimed at providing an up-to-date review of the literature on breast lymphomas for clinicians to, therefore, consider the possibility of this disease entity while treating a breast mass. Case Presentation: A case was reported of a 52-year man with chief mammary non-Hodgkin breast ENL when fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) was not leading to a firm conclusion or result. Following an incisional biopsy, he was found to have a primary breast lymphoma. Later, the patient was diagnosed with the diffuse large B-cell type of lymphoma also known as non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL). He had a complete reduction and disappearances of all the signs and symptoms of the disease after a course of neoadjuvant chemotherapy: Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, Vincristine and Prednisolone (CHOP). CONCLUSION: Based on the above case presentation, it is vital for health care professionals and oncologists to recognize the disease by assessing the breast mass accurately with more entities so that proper diagnosis via core biopsy (incisional biopsy) can eliminate the PBL before further treatment is required.

Actual Practical Attitude and Knowledge of Dental Implants among Senior Dental Students and General Dentists Graduated from Some Saudi and Non-Saudi Dental Schools

Objective: To assess the actual practical attitude and knowledge of dental implants among senior dental students and general dentists graduated from some Saudi and Non-Saudi dental schools. Methods: A total of 300 senior dental students and general dentists participated in the study. Hard copies of the self-designed, multiple-choice questionnaires were distributed to all participants. The questionnaire consisted of 31 questions in five parts. Data were collected and analyzed using Chi-square test and t-test, where p Results: There is a statistically significant relationship between the participants’ answers, and their dental schools. Participants’ general knowledge, training, and teaching of dental implants, as well as information about restorations retained for the dental implants, were higher among participants from Saudi dental schools than participants from non-Saudi dental schools, while the information about dental implants was higher among participants from non-Saudi dental schools than participants from Saudi dental schools. Conclusion: We conclude that the actual practical attitude and knowledge of dental implants among participants in the current study was insufficient. Therefore, dental implant education in the undergraduate curricula of dental schools surveyed should be updated to include teaching, laboratory training, and preclinical and clinical training.

Are Radiology Technologists Satisfied with Their Work? A Cross-Sectional Study from Taif Hospitals

Background: Job satisfaction can affect workers’ behaviour, thereby influencing organisational performance. Workers with low levels of job satisfaction have negative attitudes toward their jobs and may cause depression and anxiety. Purpose: The main aim of this study is to measure the overall job satisfaction among radiographers in Taif city. Methods: This study used the Minnesota Scoring Questionnaire to measure job satisfaction. The data collection was conducted between September 2018 and April 2019 in all major hospitals in Taif. Results: This study revealed that the overall job satisfaction of radiographers was moderate. It is, however, higher among radiographers in armed forces hospitals compared with their counterparts in the Ministry of Health hospitals. The job satisfaction of male radiographers was greater than their female peers. Finally, job satisfaction was high in those who work in advanced modality departments. Conclusion: Job satisfaction is critical for healthcare workers. This study indicated that job satisfaction is moderate for radiographers in Taif hospitals. Factors affecting their satisfaction include the feel of independence and recognition.

The Temperature of Electrochromically-Colored WO3 under Solar Radiation

The temperature variations of electrochromically-colored WO3 thin films, bare substrates (glass and FTO), and ambient air were investigated as a function of increasing incident solar radiation. Thin films of WO3 were deposited using an electron beam coating unit at a substrate temperature of 250 °C, and produced amorphous films with mean roughnesses of approximately 15 nm. The electrochromically-colored WO3 increased the visible light absorbance of the substrate by more than a factor of four. As a result, the colored WO3 increased the maximum temperature of the substrate under solar radiation during the day by more than 10 °C. The temperature of the electrochromically-colored WO3 layer reached 88 °C after peak solar radiation during the day and 23 °C during the night. The rates of temperature increase as a function of incident power density were calculated to be 0.066, 0.056, and 0.01 °C/W/m2 for the electrochromically-colored WO3, substrate, and ambient air, respectively.

Injury Pattern among Road Traffic Accidents’ Victims in Najran City, Saudi Arabia

Traffic accidents constitute the substantial cause of disability and mortality in the young Saudi individuals reaching horrible figures. The aim of this study was to review and identify the pattern of injury among road traffic accident (RTA) victims as well as the peak time of accidents and their implications. This retrospective hospital-based cross-sectional study was carried out in the period between April 2016 to March 2017 in King Khalid Hospital, Maternity and Children Hospital and Najran General Hospital, Najran, Saudi Arabia. All RTA victims admitted to the emergency departments of the pre-mentioned hospitals. Data collected from 435 Saudis and non-Saudis’ files were statistically analyzed with regard to age, gender, the timing of road traffic accidents, injury pattern, and neurological deficits incidence. Most of the RTAs’ cases (92%) were male victims with the highest peak in the age group 20 - 29 years. 58% of the RTAs happened in the evening (6:00 PM-9:00 PM) while 20% occurred in the morning. Head injury represented the most frequent pattern (36%) followed by the spinal injury (23%), lower limb injury (23%), upper limb injury (20%), thoracic injury (17%), pelvic injury and abdominal injury (8%). 4.4% of RTAs resulted in death whilst 9% of cases experienced neurological deficits. In conclusion, young male drivers in Najran recorded the highest frequency of RTAs. Initiation of road safety education and expansion of speed detectors (Saher) system deployment is highly recommended.
