Objective : Papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC) is the one of the most common types of endocrine cancer and has a heterogeneous prognosis. Tumors from patients with poor prognosis may differentially express specific genes. Therefore, an analysis of The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)database was performed and revealed that cytokine receptor-like factor 1(CRLF1) may be a potential novel target for PTC treatment. The objective of the current study was to explore the expression of CRLF1 in PTC and to investigate the main functions and mechanisms of CRLF1 in PTC. Method:The expression level of CRLF1 was measured in PTC tissues and normal thyroid tissues as well as PTC/normal thyroid epithelial cell lines by qRT-PCR and Western Blotting. Immunohistochemical analysis(IHC) was carried out for paraffin-embedded clinical PTC tissue samples with follow-up to analyze the correlation between CRLF1 expression, clinical pathological features and recurrence of disease. In vitro, overexpression and knockdown experiments were carried out to examine the impact of CRLF1 on proliferation, migration and invasion. In vivo, xenografts were established to evaluate the effects of CRLF1 on proliferation. An MAPK phosphorylation antibody array and pathway inhibitors were then used to investigate the mechanism CRLF1 may involve. Result:PTC tissues exhibited higher CRLF1 expression at both the mRNA and protein levels than it did with normal thyroid tissues. High CRLF1 levels were associated with aggressive clinicopathological features and poor disease-free survival rates. By using loss-of-function and gain-of-function assays, we found that CRLF1 not only increased cell migration and invasion in vitro but also promoted tumor growth both in vitro and in *** addition, CRLF1 induced epithelial–mesenchymal transitions. In nature, aflatoxins, especially aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), are the common mycotoxins, which cause serious health problems for humans and animals. This paper aimed to study the effects of AFB1 on flesh flavor and muscle development of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) and its mechanism. There were 1440 individual fish in total, with 6 treatments and each treatment replicated 3 times. The 6 treatments were fed a control diet with different doses of AFB1 (0.04, 29.48, 58.66, 85.94, 110.43 and 146.92 mu g/kg diet) for 60 d. AFB1 increased myofiber diameter, as well as decreased myofiber density of grass carp muscle (P muscle of grass carp. Recycling spent lithium-ion batteries is integral to today's low-carbon environmental protection *** concept of direct regeneration,acknowledged for its environmental sustainability,economic viability,and consistent performance of recycled materials,is gaining *** study presents an efficient and nondestructive approach by utilizing an ultrafast microwave technology to directly regenerate spent lithium cobaltate(LCO)cathode *** contrast to conventional furnacebased processes,this method significantly reduces the regeneration *** subjecting the spent LCO mixed with lithium sources to three microwave heating cycles(at approximately 1,350 K),LCO regeneration is achieved,yielding a specific capacity of 140.8 mAh g^(-1)(0.2 C)with a robust cycle *** further environmental and economic benefits,the ultrafast microwave technology holds scientific promise for directly regenerating cathode materials,while establishing competitiveness for industrial applications.

为探究现有高压直流输电线路纵联差动保护对混合级联特高压直流输电系统的适应性,结合混合级联特高压直流输电系统的运行方式,理论分析和仿真分析3种特殊运行方式下直流系统不同位置故障的故障特性和保护适应性。理论分析发现纵联差动保护适应性较好。仿真分析发现直流线路分布电容和逆变侧模块化多电平型换流器(modular multilevelconverter,MMC)控制特性影响在直流线路故障时直流线路电流延时自减值长时间处于波动状态,导致纵联差动保护长时间处于闭锁状态,此时,系统长时间承受MMC超大故障电流冲击。直流线路区外故障时整流侧与逆变侧直流电流差值的绝对值数值较大且长时间处于波动变化状态,纵联差动保护存在误动的风险。

Development of a nomogram to predict overall survival among non-metastatic breast cancer patients in China:a retrospective multicenter study

The accurate prediction of overall survival(OS)is important in clinical decision-making for breast cancer *** developed a model to predict the OS of non-metastatic breast cancer patients in *** multicenter study included 1844 non-metastatic breast cancer patients who underwent breast cancer surgery between January 2009 and December 2011 in 3 tertiary teaching hospitals in *** were collected retrospectively from the database of each *** used univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression analyses to screen for predictors.A nomogram was developed in the training cohort(from Sun Yatsen Memorial Hospital[SYSMH]),externally validated in 2 validation cohorts(from the First People’s Hospital of Foshan[FPHF]and Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center(SYUCC)),and compared with CancerMath,a mathematical-based *** used Receiver Operating Characteristic curves and calibration plots to assess the *** median follow-ups of 65.9,68.6,and 66.2 months,the 5-year OS rates were 93.0%,86.7%,and 91.0%in the SYSMH,FPHF,and SYUCC cohorts,*** identified age,T stage,lymph node status,estrogen receptor,and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 statuses as significant prognostic factors.A nomogram was developed and externally validated in the FPHF(area under the curve=0.74)and SYUCC(area under the curve=0.77)*** plots showed that the predicted OS was consistent with the actual *** nomogram outperformed CancerMath in our study *** summary,we developed a nomogram to predict survival among non-metastatic breast cancer patientsin *** nomogram is superior to the CancerMath model in Chinese populations.

Effects of oral probiotics on inflammation and intestinal function in adult patients after appendectomy:Randomized controlled trial

BACKGROUND Appendectomy is an acute abdominal surgery that is often accompanied by severe abdominal *** probiotics are one of the postoperative treatments for rapid ***,there is a lack of prospective studies on this topic after *** To investigate whether the postoperative probiotics can modulate the inflammatory response and restore intestinal function in patients following *** This was a prospective,randomized trial.A total of 60 emergency patients were randomly divided into a control group(n=30)and a probiotic group(n=30).Patients in the control group started to drink some water the first day after surgery,and those in the probiotic group were given water supplemented with Bacillus licheniformis capsules for 5 consecutive days *** indices of inflammation and postoperative conditions were recorded,and the data were analyzed with RStudio 4.3.2 *** A total of 60 participants were *** with those in the control group,the C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin 6 and procalcitonin(PCT)levels were significantly lower in the probiotic group at 2 d after surgery(P=2.224e-05,P=0.037,and P=0.002,respectively,all P<0.05).This trend persisted at day 5 post-surgery,with CRP and PCT levels remaining significantly lower in the probiotic group(P=0.001 and P=0.043,both P<0.05).Furthermore,probiotics0.028,both P<0.05).CONCLUSION Postoperative oral administration of probiotics may modulate the gut microbiota,benefit the recovery of the early inflammatory response,and subsequently enhance recovery after appendectomy.
