A Brief Study on the Ignition of the Non-Thermal Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Jet from a Double Dielectric Barrier Configured Plasma Pencil

To understand the self sustained propagation of the plasma jet/bullet in air under atmospheric pressure, the ignition of the plasma jet/bullet, the plasma jet/bullet ignition point in the plasma pencil, the formation time and the formation criteria from a dielectric barrier configured plasma pencil were investigated in this study. The results were confirmed by comparing these results with the plasma jet ignition process in the plasma pencil without a dielectric barrier. Electrical, optical, and imaging techniques were used to study the formation of the plasma jet from the ignition of discharge in a double dielectric barrier configured plasma pencil. The investigation results show that the plasma jet forms at the outlet of the plasma pencil as a donut shaped discharge front because of the electric field line along the outlet＇s surface. It is shown that the required time for the formation of the plasma jet changes with the input voltage of the discharge. The input power calculation for the gap discharge and for the whole system shows that 56% of the average input power is used by the first gap discharge. The estimated electron density inside the gap discharge is in the order of 1011 cm^-3. If helium is used as a feeding gas, a minimum 1.48× 10^-8 C charge is required per pulse in the gap discharge to generate a plasma jet.

Rare earth doped materials are an important type of phosphors due to their excellent performance such as stability at high temperature and light emission covering the entire visible domain. The combustion synthesis at acid pH of the monoclinic LaPO4： Eu（5%） powders was described. A mixture of La（NO3）3·6H2O, EuCly6H2O and （NH4）2HPO4 was used as anion precursor and glycin as fuel. The synthesis was followed by structure, morphology characterisation and luminescent properties of the obtained compound. The room temperature emission measurements under ultraviolet excitation at 254 nm were made for the emission transition ^5D0→^7FJ of this phosphor. The CIE （Commission Intemationale de L＇Eclairage） chromatic coordinates, dominant wavelength and colour purity were determined and compared to other luminescent materials obtained by other methods.

Influence of the layer parameters on the performances of the CdTe solar cells is analyzed by SCAPS-1 D. The Zn O: Al film shows a high efficiency than SnO_2:F. Moreover, the thinner window layer and lower defect density of Cd S films are the factor in the enhancement of the short-circuit current density. As well, to increase the open-circuit voltage, the responsible factors are low defect density of the absorbing layer CdTe and high metal work function. For the low cost of cell production, ultrathin film CdTe cells are used with a back surface field(BSF) between CdTe and back contact, such as PbTe. Further, the simulation results show that the conversion efficiency of 19.28% can be obtained for the cell with 1-μm-thick CdTe, 0.1-μm-thick PbTe and 30-nm-thick CdS.

The aim of this research is to assess the seismic performance of reinforced concrete columns under different axial load and transverse reinforcement ratios. These two parameters are very important as for the ductility, strength, stiffness, and energy dissipation capacity for a given reinforced concrete column. Effects of variable axial load ratio and transverse reinforcement ratio on the seismic performance of reinforced concrete columns are thoroughly analyzed. The finite element computer program Seismo-Structure was used to perform the analysis of series of reinforced concrete columns tested by the second author and other researchers. In order to reflect the reality and grasp the actual behavior of the specimens, special attention was paid to select the models for concrete, confined concrete, and steel components. Good agreements were obtained between the experimental and the analytical results either for the lateral force-drift relationships or for the damage progress prediction at different stages of the loading.

Numerical simulation has been performed to improve the performance of Cu_(2)ZnSnS_(4)(CZTS)solar cells by replacing CdS with Zn_(1−x)Sn_(x)O buffer *** influences of thickness,donor concentration and defect density of buffer layers on the performance of CZTS solar cells were *** has been found that Zn_(1−x)Sn_(x)O buffer layer for Sn content of 0.20 is better for CZTS solar cell.A higher efficiency can be achieved with thinner buffer *** optimized solar cell demonstrated a maximum power conversion efficiency of 13%.

A rapid, sensitive and simple chromogenic method was developed for quantitative determination of monosodium glutamate(MSG) in food samples. The method incorporated a glutamate oxidase and peroxidase. The librated H 2 O 2 from a glutamate sample as a result of enzymatic action was measured using 4-aminoantipyrine and phenol as a chromogenic reagent at 502 nm. Glutamate calibration curve was linear up to 125 mmol L-1 with a detection limit of 2 mmol L-1. The results of analyzing L-glutamate in various food samples using the approach were compared to those of a standard procedure employing HPLC method. MSG concentration in different samples ranged from 0.93 to 4.9 g/kg. This method is relatively sensitive and specifi c, without the need of pre-treatment for sample. Fig 5, Tab 1, Ref

This thesis proposes a space vector modulation algorithm for an asymmetrical six-phase open-end winding permanent magnet synchronous motor（OEWPMSM）supplied by two two-level six-phase voltage source inverters（VSIs）with common mode voltage *** topologies are *** first topology consists of the dual inverter with separated DC supplies,and the second topology is the dual-inverter fed from a single DC source.A six-phase open-end winding PMSM with open-end windings model is developed based on the vector space decomposition（VSD）*** voltage concept,namely,common mode voltage（CMV）is investigated on both topologies and its effect on the drive system such as motor shaft voltage;zero sequence current and common mode current are presented.A space vector pulse width modulation（SVPWM）method is then proposed which is capable of not only suppressing the current harmonics in non-torque producing sub-spaces,but also eliminating the *** switching states providing zero CMV are identified and the corresponding space vectors are *** the proposed scheme,two two-level six-phase space vector modulators are utilized,where the resultant reference voltage is decomposed into two components and each component is controlled *** performance of the proposed PWM technique is evaluated using total harmonic distortion of motor voltage and current,the current components in different sub-spaces and a comparison in CMV profile between conventional SVPWM and the proposed SVPWM is provided using Matlab/Simulink software.
