Introduction: The study of mortality is an indicator that allows a control and a review of the therapeutic measures in the hospital environment. The purpose of this work was to determine the epidemiological profile of the patients who died and analyse the circumstances of the death in a hospital service. Material and Methods: It is a retrospective descriptive study conducted in the service of Stomatology, maxillofacial and plastic surgery of the face over a period of 10 years (from January 1999 to December 2008). Seventy-two cases have been taken into account. Results: The crude death rate was 4.29%. Higher level of male has been noted with a sex ratio of 1.77. The most affected age groups were the 3rd and 2nd decades, respectively with 20.8% and 19.4% with an average age of 39 years. Cellulitis of the face and their complications were responsible for deaths in 58.33% of cases. The majority of deaths occurred between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. (65.28%). These deaths were preventable in 5.6% of cases. Conclusion: Facing the lack of description of the ultimate circumstances of death in the medical records, the conclusion of this study has been the establishment of a regular medical audit in the service, which would track mortality in order to reduce its rate.

Intrumer:A Multi Module Distributed Explainable IDS/IPS for Securing Cloud Environment

Federated Learning’s Role in Next-Gen TV Ad Optimization

In the rapidly evolving landscape of television advertising,optimizing ad schedules to maximize viewer engagement and revenue has become *** methods often operate in silos,limiting the potential insights gained from broader data analysis due to concerns over privacy and data *** article introduces a novel approach that leverages Federated Learning(FL)to enhance TV ad schedule optimization,combining the strengths of local optimization techniques with the power of global Machine Learning(ML)models to uncover actionable insights without compromising data *** combines linear programming for initial ads scheduling optimization with ML—specifically,a K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN)model—for predicting ad spot *** into account the diversity and the difficulty of the ad-scheduling problem,we propose a prescriptivepredictive approach in which first the position of the ads is optimized(using Google’s OR-Tools CP-SAT)and then the scheduled position of all ads will be the result of the optimization ***,this output becomes the target of a predictive task that predicts the position of new entries based on their characteristics ensuring the implementation of the scheduling at large scale(using KNN,Light Gradient boosting Machine and Random Forest).Furthermore,we explore the integration of FL to enhance predictive accuracy and strategic insight across different broadcasting networks while preserving data *** FL approach resulted in 8750 ads being precisely matched to their optimal category placements,showcasing an alignment with the intended diversity ***,there was a minimal deviation observed,with 1133 ads positioned within a one-category variance from their ideal placement in the original dataset.

An air quality forecasting system in beijing-Application to the study of dust storm events in China in May 2008

An air pollution forecast system,ARIA Regional,was implemented in 2007–2008 at the beijing Municipality Environmental Monitoring Center,providing daily forecast of main pollutant *** chemistry-transport model CHIMERE was coupled with the dust emission model Mb95 for restituting dust storm events in springtime so as to improve forecast *** storm events were sporadic but could be extremely intense and then control air quality indexes close to the source areas but also far in the beijing area.A dust episode having occurred at the end of May 2008 was analyzed in this article,and its impact of particulate matter on the Chinese air pollution index （API） was *** our estimation,about 23 Tg of dust were emitted from source areas in Mongolia and in the Inner Mongolia of China,transporting towards *** episode of dust storm influenced a large part of North China and East China,and also South *** model result was then evaluated using satellite observations and in situ *** simulated daily concentrations of total suspended particulate at 6：00 UTC had a similar spatial pattern with respect to OMI satellite aerosol *** evolution of dust plume was evaluated by comparing dust aerosol optical depth （AOD） calculated from the simulations with AOD derived from MODIS satellite ***,the comparison of reported Chinese API in beijing with API calculated from the simulation including dust emissions had showed the significant improvement of the model results taking into accountmineral dust correctly.

Water balance prediction in stormwater infiltration basins using 2-D modeling:An application to evaluate the clogging process

Sustainable urban drainage systems are built along roads and in urban areas to collect urban runoff and avoid flooding, and to filter water pollutants. Sediment collected by runoff is deposited in the stormwater basin and progressively reduces water infiltration efficiency, leading to the clogging of the basin. To help stormwater basin managers and stakeholders better understand and predict clogging rates in order to elaborate maintenance plans and schedules, water transport prediction models are necessary. However,because of the heterogeneous sediment hydrodynamic properties inside the stormwater basin, a twodimensional(2-D) water flow model is required to predict water levels and possible overflow as accurately as possible. Saturated hydraulic conductivity(Ks) and sediment water retention curves were measured in the overall sediment layer of the stormwater basin, in addition to sediment layer thickness and organic matter content(11 sampling points). Sediment depth was used to predict organic matter(OM) content, and the OM was used to predict Ks. Water height in the basin was modeled with the HYDRUS-2 D model by taking into account the sediment hydrodynamic properties distribution. The HYDRUS-2 D model gave a satisfactory representation of the measured data. Scenarios of the hydraulic properties of stormwater basin sediment were tested over time, and hydraulic resistance, R, was calculated to assess the stormwater basin performance. Presently, after 20 years of functioning, the stormwater basin still ensures efficient water infiltration, but the first outflow(Hydraulic resistance,R > 24 h)) is expected to appear in the next 5 years, and clogging(R > 47 h) in the next 13 years. This 2-D water balance model makes it possible to integrate the hydrodynamic heterogeneity of a stormwater basin. It gives interesting perspectives to better predict 2-D/3-D contaminant transport.

The Sichuan–Yunnan–Guizhou(SYG)Zn–Pb metallogenic zone in SW China contains>400 carbonatehosted hydrothermal Zn–Pb *** of these,such as the Huize,Tianbaoshan,and Daliangzi deposits,are super-large deposits with significant reserves of Cd,Ge,and ***,the sources of these metals remain *** study investigated the Cd isotopic geochemistry of the Huize deposit,the largest Zn–Pb deposit in the SYG *** formed at three stages in the deposit have different colors:black or dark brown(Stage I),red(Stage II),and light-yellow(Stage III).The d^(114/110)Cd values of the sphalerites are in the order Stage IIIbeing responsible for the still lower values of the Stage III *** galena,the δ^(114/110)Cd values are inversely correlated with Cd contents and tend to be higher in high-Zn *** speculate that Cd isotopic fractionation was significant during the precipitation of sphalerite and galena,with light Cd isotopes being enriched in galena rather than *** of the Cd isotopic signatures and Zn/Cd ratios of different endmembers suggests that the δ^(114/110)Cd values and Zn/Cd ratios of sphalerite from the Huize deposit,as well as other largescale deposits from the SYG area,are lie in those range of Emeishan basalts and sedimentary rocks and the mean δ^(114/110)Cd values of these deposits show good negative correlation with 1/Cd,suggesting that the ore-forming materials of these deposits were derived from the mixing of Emeishan basalts and sedimentary *** study demonstrates that Cd isotopes can be useful proxies in elucidating ore genesis in large Zn–Pb deposits.
