Translation and Validation of the Japanese Version of the Family Sense of Coherence Scale-Short Form in Nurses

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to translate the Family Sense of Coherence Scale-short form (FSOC-S) into a Japanese version (J-FSOC-S) for Japanese nurses and to evaluate its reliability and validity. Methods: First, we obtained permission to translate the FSOC-S from the original author and translated it into Japanese using the translation/back translation technique. Second, the J-FSOC-S was reviewed by a panel of experts in nursing research and practice, then, a validation survey was conducted. The internal consistency of the J-FSOC-S was assessed using Cronbach’s α coefficient. Test-retest reliability was examined through intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC). Construct validity was investigated by measuring the correlation coefficients between the J-FSOC-S and Sense of Coherence (SOC) Scale (concurrent validity) and the Family Adaptability Partnership, Growth, Affection, and Resolve Index (Family APGAR) (convergent validity). Results: A total of 374 nurses (valid response rate = 58.6%) were recruited from seven hospitals. Thirty-four participants completed the questionnaire twice at an interval of 2 - 4 weeks to test the reliability. The mean age of the participants was 35.0 years (SD = 7.6, range = 25 - 59). The mean years of experience as a registered nurse were 11.0 years (SD = 7.1, range = 5 - 36). Of the total number of participants, 53.7% had children. The J-FSOC-S showed good internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = 0.85) and test-retest reliability (ICC = 0.77). The J-FSOC-S correlated positively with the SOC Scale (r = 0.41, p Conclusions: The J-FSOC-S is a reliable and valid instrument for measuring family sense of coherence in Japan.

Many Kinds of Reserved Judgement in No-Data Problem

The reserved judgment can be broadly categorized into three types: Re-Do, Re-Set, and Natural Flowing Case (i.e. step by step in Re-Try). hori et al. constructed the Bayes-Fuzzy Estimation and demonstrated that system theory can be applied to the possibility of Markov processes, and that decision-making approaches can be applied to sequential Bayes estimation. In this paper, we focus on the Natural Flowing Case within reserved judgment. Here, the possibility of oblique (or principal) factor rotation is considered as a part of the tandem fuzzy system that follows step by step for sequential Bayes estimation. Ultimately, we achieve a significant result whereby the expected utility can be calculated automatically without the need to construct a utility function for reserved judgment. There, this utility in Re-Do can be calculated by the prior utility, and that utility in Re-set does not exist by our research in this paper. Finally, we elucidate the relationship between fuzzy system theory and fuzzy decision theory through an applied example of Bayes-Fuzzy theory. Fuzzy estimation can be applied to only normal making decision, but it is impossible to apply abnormal decision problem. Our Vague, specially Type 2 Vague can be applied to abnormal case, too.

The Factors Associated with the Attitudes of Nurses Working in Medical Facilities towards Family Nursing

The aim of this study was to clarify the attitudes of nurses working in medical facilities towards family nursing and the related factors. A quantitative cross-sectional design was used. The study period was from December 2017 to February 2018. 638 nurses with more than 5 years clinical experience were recruited from seven medical facilities. The questionnaire included the Families’ Importance in Nursing Care-Nurses’ Attitudes (FINC-NA), the Family Sense of Coherence (FSOC), and items on nursing practice ability, job satisfaction, and background characteristics. A multiple regression analysis with FINC-NA as the dependent variable and a path analysis of nursing practice ability as the dependent variable were performed. Responses from 416 nurses (effective response rate, 65.2%) were analyzed. Variables that were significantly related to FINC-NA (p < 0.05) were nursing practice ability, FSOC, job satisfaction, family nursing learning experience, presence of a partner and experience in family nursing. Multiple regression analysis with FINC-NA as the dependent variable revealed significant regression coefficients for nursing practice ability, FSOC and job satisfaction. Moreover, path analysis with nursing practice ability as the dependent variable showed job satisfaction, FSOC, managerial experience, family nursing learning experience were significant. In addition, it was revealed that the direct effect of FSOC on FINC-NA to mediate nursing practice ability was higher than the indirect effect, but the direct effect of job satisfaction on FINC-NA was lower than the indirect effect. It was suggested that it is important that nurses recognize their own thoughts, behaviors and ways of coping with stress within their family, and establish a good work environment and strive to enhance their nursing practice ability.

Report for Type 2 Bayes-Fuzzy Estimation in No-Data Problem

It is well known that the system (1 + 1) can be unequal to 2, because this system has both observation error and system error. Furthermore, we must provide our mustered service within our cool head and warm heart, where two states of nature are existing upon us. Any system is regarded as the two-dimensional variable error model. On the other hand, we consider that the fuzziness is existing in this system. Though we can usually obtain the fuzzy number from the possibility theory, it is not fuzzy but possibility, because the possibility function is as same as the likelihood function, and we can obtain the possibility measure by the maximal likelihood method (i.e. max product method proposed by Dr. Hideo Tanaka). Therefore, Fuzzy is regarded as the only one case according to Vague, which has both some state of nature in this world and another state of nature in the other world. Here, we can consider that Type 1 Vague Event in other world can be obtained by mapping and translating from Type 1 fuzzy Event in this world. We named this estimation as Type 1 Bayes-Fuzzy Estimation. When the Vague Events were abnormal (ex. under War), we need to consider that another world could exist around other world. In this case, we call it Type 2 Bayes-Fuzzy Estimation. Where hori et al. constructed the stochastic different equation upon Type 1 Vague Events, along with the general following probabilistic introduction method from the single regression model, multi-regression model, AR model, Markov (decision) process, to the stochastic different equation. Furthermore, we showed that the system theory approach is Possibility Markov Process, and that the making decision approach is Sequential Bayes Estimation, too. After all, Type 1 Bays-Fuzzy estimation is the special case in Bayes estimation, because the pareto solutions can exist in two stochastic different equations upon Type 2 Vague Events, after we ignore one equation each other (note that this is Type 1 case), we can obtain both its

Associations of body mass index and hospital-acquired disability with post-discharge mortality in older patients with acute heart failure

OBJECTIVES To investigate the effect of hospital-acquired disability(HAD)on all-cause mortality after discharge according to the body mass index(BMI)in older patients with acute decompensated heart *** We included 408 patients aged≥65 years who were hospitalized for acute decompensated heart failure and had undergone an acute phase of cardiac rehabilitation at the Sakakibara Heart Institute between April 2013 and September 2015(me-dian age:82 years,interquartile range(IQR):76-86;52%male).Patients were divided into three groups based on BMI at hospital admission:underweight(<18.5 kg/m^(2)),normal weight(18.5 to 25 kg/m^(2)),and overweight(≥25 kg/m^(2)).HAD was defined as a decrease of at least five points at discharge compared to before hospitalization according to the Barthel *** The median follow-up period was 475(IQR:292-730)days,and all-cause mortality during the follow-up period was 84 deaths(21%).According to multivariate Cox regression analysis,being underweight(HR:1.941,95%CI:1.134−3.321,P=0.016)or overweight(HR:0.371,95%CI:0.171−0.803,P=0.012),with normal BMI as the reference,and HAD(HR:1.857,95%CI:1.062−3.250,P=0.030)were independently associated with all-cause *** with HAD exhibited a significantly lower cumulative survival rate in the underweight group(P=0.001)and tended to have a lower cumulative survival rate in the normal weight group(P=0.072).HAD was not significantly associated with cumulative survival in the overweight group(P=0.392).CONCLUSIONS BMI and HAD independently predicted all-cause mortality after discharge in older patients with acute de-compensated heart ***,HAD was significantly associated with higher all-cause mortality after discharge,espe-cially in the underweight group.

BACKGROUND Mucosal patterns(MPs)observed on blue laser imaging in patients with atrophic gastritis can be classified as spotty,cracked,and ***,we hypothesized that the spotty pattern may change to the cracked pattern after Helicobacter pylori(***)*** To further substantiate and comprehensively investigate MP changes after *** eradication in a larger number of *** We included 768 patients who were diagnosed with atrophic gastritis with evaluable MP using upper gastrointestinal endoscopy at the Nishikawa Gastrointestinal Clinic,*** them,325 patients were ***-positive,and of them,101 patients who underwent upper gastrointestinal endoscopy before and after *** eradication were evaluated for post-eradication MP *** patients’MPs were interpreted by three experienced endoscopists who were blinded to their clinical *** Among 76 patients with the spotty pattern before or after *** eradication,the pattern disappeared or decreased in 67 patients[88.2%,95%confidence interval(CI):79.0%-93.6%),appeared or increased in 8 patients(10.5%,95%CI:5.4%-19.4%),and showed no change in 1 patient(1.3%,95%CI:0.2%-7.1%).In 90 patients with the cracked pattern before or after *** eradication,the pattern disappeared or decreased in 7 patients(7.8%,95%CI:3.8%-15.2%),appeared or increased in 79 patients(87.8%,95%CI:79.4%-93.0%),and showed no change in 4 patients(4.4%,95%CI:1.7%-10.9%).In 70 patients with the mottled pattern before or after *** eradication,the pattern disappeared or decreased in 28 patients(40.0%,95%CI:29.3%-51.7%),appeared or increased in 35 patients(50.0%,95%CI:38.6%-61.4%),and showed no change in 7 patients(10.0%,95%CI:4.9%-19.2%).CONCLUSION After *** eradication,MPs changed from spotty to cracked in most patients,which may help endoscopists easily and precisely evaluate ***-related gastritis status.
