Hydrocarbon generating-potential and maturity-related changes of the Khatatba Formation, Western Desert, Egypt

The petroliferous province of the Western Desert comprises several sedimentary basins with different hydrocarbon potentiality and production *** middle Jurassic Khatatba Formation was proved a potential source rock in some basins and active/effective in *** current study aims to give a comprehensive assessment and evaluation of the potential organic-rich intervals of the Khatatba Formation across JG and JD fields,northeast Abu Gharadig Basin(NEAG).The hydrocarbon generating capability and sourcing of the Khatatba Formation studied through organic geochemistry calibrated with well ***,the efficiency of some widely used plots of geochemistry is re-evaluated according to their accuracy and *** cuttings,thirteen cores and two oil samples obtained from three wells(JG-2,JG-3 and JD-4)were *** samples revealed total organic carbon(TOC)values ranging from 1 to 9 wt%,exhibiting a good-excellent potential source rock.A single sample in the JD-4 well attained a TOC value of 21.3 wt%with a generating potential(represented by S2 parameter)exceeding 146 mgHc/g rock required a special *** of the samples(mainly in the JD-4 well)attained a sufficient level of thermal maturity for hydrocarbon generation with a Tmax up to 449*** vitrinite reflectance(%Ro)values(a common maturity-related indicator)acquired from the JD-4 well ranging between 0.76%and 0.92%.These values are tediously increasing with depth indicating a uniform geothermal *** Khatatba organofacies,with wide variety of kerogen types(I,II,II-S and II/III),contain marine organic matter with a slight terrigenous input,exhibiting anoxic-suboxic environmental ***-source correlations define the organic-rich intervals responsible for charging the accumulated hydrocarbon in the NEAG concession.

Western Desert represents a major oil and gas province in Egypt producing more than 50%of the country’s oil *** and gas blend occurs in most producing fields,however,the genetic link between gas and liquid hydrocarbon phases are not *** sub-basin in the Western Desert where oil and gas phases coexist in the Middle Jurassic sandstones of the Khatatba Formation provides an ideal place to investigate the link between oil and gas *** analyses on rock samples(Rock–Eval pyrolysis,vitrinite reflectance,R_(o))and gases(molecular and isotopic composition)were conducted in order to identify the genetic characteristics of the hydrocarbon phases ***-relevant parameters(Rock–Eval T_(max),vitrinite reflectance R_(o))elucidate that only Middle Jurassic Khatatba organofacies capable of generating wet and dry hydrocarbon ***,the enrichment of C_(7)normal alkanes,mono-branched alkanes relative to polybranched components in the Obayied gases reflect their generation via cracking of *** modelling results confirm gas generation through both primary and secondary ***,secondary cracking of liquid hydrocarbon phases is volumetrically more *** cracking of the Khatatba organofacies likely predate and catalyze the secondary cracking of the liquid phases and therefore the volume of generated gas increases incrementally eastward where both processes *** present study highlights the significant role of secondary cracking in the generation and accumulation of huge gas accumulations in the basins containing oil-prone source intervals.

Inflammatory bowel disease in rats:Bacterial and chemical interaction

AIM：To develop a novel model of colitis in rats, using a combination of iodoacetamide and enteropathogenic E. coli（EPEC）, and to elucidate the pathophysiologic processes implicated in the development of ulcerative colitis （UC）. METHODS： Hale Sprague-Dawley rats （/7 = 158） were inoculated intrarectally on a weekly basis with 4 different combinations：（a） 1% methylcellulose （HC）, （b） 100 μL of 6% iodoacetamide （IA） in 1% HC, （c） 200 p.L containing 4×10^8 colony factor units （CFU） of EPEC, and （d） combined treatment of （IA） followed by bacteria （13） after 2 d. Thirty days post treatment, each of the four groups was divided into two subgroups; the inoculation was stopped for one subgroup and the other subgroup continued with biweekly inoculation until the end of the experiment. Colitis was evaluated by the clinical course of the disease, the macroscopic and microscopic alterations, activity of myeloperoxidase （HPO）, and by TNF-α gene expression. RESULTS： Findings indicative of UC were seen in the combined treatment （IA ＋ B） as well as the IA continued treatment groups： the animals showed slow rate of increase in body weight, diarrhea, bloody stools, high colonic ulcer score, as well as histological alterations characteristic of UC, with an extensive inflammatory reaction. During the course of the experiment, the MPO activity was consistently elevated and the TNF-α gene expression was upregulated compared to the control animals. CONCLUSION： The experimental ulcerative colitis model used in the present study resembles, to a great extent, the human disease. It is reproducible with characteristics indicative of chronicity.

This paper presents a radio optical network simulation tool(RONST)for modeling optical-wireless *** a typical optical and electrical chain environment,performance should be optimized concurrently before system *** a result,simulating such systems turns out to be a multidisciplinary *** governing equations are incompatible with co-simulation in the traditional environments of existing software(SW)*** ultra-wideband(UWB)technology is an ideal candidate for providing high-speed short-range access for wireless *** limited wireless reach of this technology is a significant limitation.A feasible solution to the problem of extending UWB signals is to transmit these signals to endusers via optical *** concept implies the need for the establishment of a dependable environment for studying such ***,the essential novelty of the proposed SW is that it provides designers,engineers,and researchers with a dependable simulation framework that can accurately and efficiently predict and/or optimize the behavior of such systems in a single optical-electronic simulation ***,it is supported by a strong mathematical foundation with integrated algorithms to achieve broad flexibility and low computational *** validate the proposed tool,RONST was deployed on an ultra-wideband over fiber(UWBoF)*** bit error rate(BER)has been calculated over a UWBoF system,and there is good agreement between the experimental and simulated results.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)provide a reliable and energyefficient solution for data collection from the Narrowband Internet of Things(NB-IoT)***,the UAV’s deployment optimization,including locations of the UAV’s stop points,is a necessity to minimize the energy consumption of the UAV and the NB-IoT devices and also to conduct the data collection *** this regard,this paper proposes GainingSharing Knowledge(GSK)algorithm for optimizing the UAV’s *** GSK,the number of UAV’s stop points in the three-dimensional space is encapsulated into a single individual with a fixed length representing an entire *** superiority of using GSK in the tackled problem is verified by simulation in seven *** provides significant results in all seven scenarios compared with other four optimization algorithms used before with the same ***,the NB-IoT is proposed as the wireless communication technology between the UAV and IoT devices.

Vertically aligned one-dimensional ZnO/V2O5 core-shell hetero-nanostructure for photoelectrochemical water splitting

The vertically aligned one-dimensional(1 D)core-shell structure can maximize the exposure and use of the functionally active surface while maintaining the geometric effects caused by the underlying ***,we have fabricated 1 D vertically aligned ZnO/V2O5 core-shell hetero-nanostructure nanorod arrays(NRs)for photoelectrochemical(PEC)water ***/V2O5 NRs were prepared through the hydrothermal growing of ZnO NRs and then radio frequency(RF)magnetron sputtering deposition of V2O5 for 300,600 and 900 *** photocurrent density of ZnO/V2O5-based photoanodes was gradually increased with the sputtering time,reaching the maximum value of 1.21 m A/cm^2 at 1.23 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE)for ZnO/V2O5-600,whereas for pure ZnO-based photoanode was 0.42 mA/cm^*** incident photon to electron conversion efficiency(IPCE)of ZnO/V2O5-600 evaluated to be 82.3%which was 2.3 times higher than that of ZnO(36.4%).The improved PEC performance of ZnO/V2O5-600 is because the core-shell structure with a moderate thickness of the V2O5 layer has the extremely high carrier density,largest electrochemically active surface area(ECSA),largest carrier density,lowest charge recombination rate,and the longest lifetime of e-h pairs due to the formation of the staggered gap *** study provides an effective way to design and fabrication of hetero-nanostructures for highefficiency photoelectrodes.

Hydrocarbon-source correlation in the Obayied sub-basin， north Western Desert， Egypt: controls on generation of natural gas and light crude hydrocarbon blend

Obayied sub-basin provides one-third of the annual natural gas production in the Egyptian Western Desert. The origin of the Obayied hydrocarbons are however poorly constrained. In this study， the molecular biomarkers of the Obayied hydrocarbon blend were studied to infer on their origin and generation mechanism. API values are in the range of (41.3°-53.7°) reflecting post-mature hydrocarbons. The molecular biomarkers suggest a generation of Obayied crude from clay-rich fluvio-deltaic source rocks. Age- and maturity-relevant biomarkers (e.g. Ts/Tm trisnorhopanes and methylphenanthrene indices) reflect a successive expulsion of the Obayied crudes from mature Jurassic rocks (> 1%Ro). Biological markers correlate perfectly with those of the Jurassic Khatatba shale and coal extracts attesting. Additionally， the Obayied gases are wet， thermogenic and have been derived from a mature (1.3%-2%Ro) type III kerogen. The studied gases display compositional characteristics of mixed coal- and oil-type gases， and were therefore derived via primary cracking of the Khatatba coal as well as secondary cracking of the light liquid crudes. The present study clarifies the controls on the geochemical processes responsible for the accumulation of liquid and gas hydrocarbon mix in the deep as well as shallow inverted rift basins of the north Western Desert， Egypt.

埃及与中国都是拥有着各自文化的文明古国。随着中埃的进一步合作发展,学习汉语的埃及人也逐渐增多,教授汉语的地点也随之增多,不止大学和孔子学院。本文的调查对象为66位埃及汉语学习者,这些学习者的年龄、汉语水平、汉语学习经验及性别都不同。教学是种人才培养的过程,由教师的教与学习者的学共同组成。教师和学习者在教与学的过程中产生了重要联系,而在此过程中,教师与学习者会遇到一些不可避免的问题与障碍,如:沟通困难、教材缺陷、教学方法落后、教学环境恶劣等,因此为了克服这些困难与减轻障碍,有必要对这些困难产生的原因做充分的了解。为了研究埃及汉语学习者对埃及本土汉语教师与埃及中国汉语教师的满意度和接受度,本文对埃及本土汉语教师与埃及中国汉语教师的汉语教学特点及效果进行研究,以埃及学习者为观察研究对象,通过问卷,调查埃及汉语学习者对埃及本土汉语教师和埃及中国汉语教师的教学特点并做出学习反馈和建议。问卷调查显示埃及本土汉语教师和埃及中国汉语教师对埃及汉语学习者均十分重要,且优缺点鲜明。虽然调查问卷显示埃、中两国教师的教学是有效的,但是也同时揭示了两国教师的不足之处与学习者的困难和需求等。其中包括:学习者与教师沟通困难的问题、缺乏练习汉语机会的问题、教师的严厉造成学习者产生距离感的问题、教师无法因材施教的问题等。同时,问卷调查结果还显示埃及汉语学习者对埃及本土汉语教师和中国汉语教师的满意度较高,也显示出埃、中两国教师对埃及汉语学习者存在的重要性与学习者对两国教师的需求。因此,本研究致力于更加深入地了解埃及汉语学习者在学习汉语的过程中所面临的困难及其产生的原因。通过对埃及学习者给两国教师建议的梳理,总结埃及汉语学习者对两国教师提出来的学习反馈与教学建议,能够把握埃及汉语学习者学习汉语的难点和更适合埃及学习者的汉语教学方法,帮助埃、中两国教师和埃及学习者探索出汉语学习的更加有效果的学和教的汉语环境,帮助埃及汉语学习者更好地把握汉语,达到学习汉语目标,也帮助埃中两国教师提高教学质量,提升教学效果。

Assessing the pomfret stock for setting catch limits in the northern Bay of Bengal,Bangladesh

Pampus argenteus and Pampus chinensis form the high-value demersal Pomfret fishery of ***,due to a monotonic decline in catches over the last five years,it is essential to explore the current stock status concerning the removal rate to ensure the sustainability of this ***,given the reliability and minimal data requirements,this study employed an extended Bayesian State-Space Surplus Production Model,JABBA(Just Another Bayesian Biomass Assessment),to assess the stock *** results revealed that the stock biomass of the Pomfret fishery in the final year of the time series is significantly lower than BMSY,the biomass required to produce ***,this study recommends a yearly catch limit(TAC)of 10,000 metric tons to prevent further depletion of the stock ***,to avoid growth overfishing by allowing all immature fishes to reproduce at least once before being caught,this study also calculated the optimum length(Lopt)for catch for both species at which biologically maximum yield and revenue can be *** estimated Lopt is 25 cm for *** and 30 cm for ***,and not to capture fishes with lengths lower than these limits,this study further calculated the minimum mesh size limits for gill and set bag nets is 7.5 *** the mesh size regulation was estimated using length-based reference points derived from an empirical equation,this regulation can be used as an associate reference point when TAC is applied to assure the sustainability of this fishery.
