Enhanced osteoclastogenesis and osteoclast activity contribute to the development of osteoporosis,which is characterized by increased bone resorption and inadequate bone formation.As novel antiosteoporotic therapeutics are needed,understanding the genetic regulation of human osteoclastogenesis could help identify potential treatment targets.This study aimed to provide an overview of transcriptional reprogramming during human osteoclast differentiation.Osteoclasts were differentiated from CD14+monocytes from eight female donors.RNA sequencing during differentiation revealed 8980 differentially expressed genes grouped into eight temporal patterns conserved across donors.These patterns revealed distinct molecular functions associated with postmenopausal osteoporosis susceptibility genes based on RNA from iliac crest biopsies and bone mineral density SNPs.Network analyses revealed mutual dependencies between temporal expression patterns and provided insight into subtype-specific transcriptional networks.The donor-specific expression patterns revealed genes at the monocyte stage,such as filamin b(FLNb)and oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor 1(OLR1,encoding LOX-1),that are predictive of the resorptive activity of mature osteoclasts.The expression of differentially expressed G-protein coupled receptors was strong during osteoclast differentiation,and these receptors are associated with bone mineral density SNPs,suggesting that they play a pivotal role in osteoclast differentiation and activity.The regulatory effects of three differentially expressed G-protein coupled receptors were exemplified by in vitro pharmacological modulation of complement 5 A receptor 1(C5AR1),somatostatin receptor 2(SSTR2),and free fatty acid receptor 4(FFAR4/GPR120).Activating C5AR1 enhanced osteoclast formation,while activating SSTR2 decreased the resorptive activity of mature osteoclasts,and activating FFAR4 decreased both the number and resorptive activity of mature osteoclasts.In conclusion,we report the occurrence of transcriptional

Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks（ZIFs） feature complex phase transitions, including polymorphism,melting, vitrification, and polyamorphism. Experimentally probing their structural evolution during transitions involving amorphous phases is a significant challenge, especially at the medium-range length scale. To overcome this challenge, here we first train a deep learning-based force field to identify the structural characteristics of both crystalline and non-crystalline ZIF phases. This allows us to reproduce the structural evolution trend during the melting of crystals and formation of ZIF glasses at various length scales with an accuracy comparable to that of ab initio molecular dynamics, yet at a much lower computational cost. based on this approach, we propose a new structural descriptor, namely, the ring orientation index, to capture the propensity for crystallization of ZIF-4(Zn（Im）2, Im = C3H3N2-) glasses, as well as for the formation of ZIF-zni(Zn（Im）2) out of the high-density amorphous phase. This crystal formation process is a result of the reorientation of imidazole rings by sacrificing the order of the structure around the zinc-centered tetrahedra. The outcomes of this work are useful for studying phase transitions in other metal-organic frameworks（MOFs） and may thus guide the development of MOF glasses.

Sortilin was discovered in 1997 by Petersen and his colleagues.The single transmembrane receptor was isolated as a 95 kDa membrane glycoprotein by receptor-associated protein affinity chromatography and therefore initially named gp95.The cDNA library screening revealed sequence homology between the luminal segment of gp95/sortilin and the yeast vacuolar sorting protein 10 protein(Vps10p)domain(Petersen et al.,1997).The Vps10p domain was first identified in the Saccharomyces cerevisiae protein Vps10p that directs lysosomal enzymes from the Golgi to the vacuole(Marcusson et al.,1994).

A detailed geometric analysis of spherical triboelectric nanogenerators is presented.In comparison with earlier works on spherical triboelectric generators,the general case where the moving dielectric rolls on the inside surface of the larger sphere of the TENG is discussed in terms of maximum energy harvesting.An optimization analysis of geometrical parameters allows various cases of electrode geometry,either in the form of a spherical circle,spherical ellipse,spherical rectangle,or spherical isosceles trapezium,to be solved.The analytical insight and computational effective models provided by differential geometry make the mathematical model superior compared to standard three-dimensional(3D)numerical methods.

Photon emission during contact electrification(CE)has recently been observed,which is called as CE-induced interface photon emission spectroscopy(CEIIPES).Physical mechanisms of CEIIPES are essential for interpreting the structure and electronic interactions of a contacted interface.Using the methods of density functional theory(DFT)and time-dependent DFT(TDDFT),it is confirmed theoretically that the spectrum of emitted photons is contributed from electron transfer and transition during CE.Specifically,the excited electrons from higher energy state in one material may transfer to a lower energy state of another material followed by a transition;and/or some unstable excited electrons at a higher energy level of one material may transit to a lower energy state of itself,both of which result in CEIIPES.Furthermore,the CE-induced interface absorption spectrum(CEIIAS)has been demonstrated,due to the intermolecular electron transfer excitation.

AIM To examine associated factors of bullying and to determine associations between bullying and psychosocial outcomes among individuals with visual impairments(Ⅵ). METHODS We conducted an age-stratified cross-sectional survey of adults with Ⅵ who were recruited from the Norwegian Association of the blind and Partially Sighted. Data were collected through structural telephone interviews in the period between February and May, 2017. Linear regression models were used to examine factors related to bullying and associations of bullying with self-efficacy and life satisfaction.RESULTS A total of 736 individuals were interviewed. The lifetime and 6-mo prevalence of bullying was 41.7% and8.2%, respectively. The majority of bullied participants reported Ⅵ-specific bullying(65.1%). Victimization of bullying was associated with young age, early onsetage of Ⅵ, and having other impairments. Participants who reported bullying had lower levels of self-efficacy[Adjusted relative risk(ARR): 0.40, 95% confidence interval(CI): 0.19-0.85] and life satisfaction(ARR: 0.68,95%CI: 0.51-0.91).CONCLUSION bullying is highly prevalent among individuals withⅥ. Our findings suggest that interventions to reduce bullying may be beneficial for improving the well-being and life quality of people with Ⅵ.

Injection of gas-liquid sprays into gas-solid fluidized beds finds application in many industries.Effective mixing and distribution of liquid feed and solid bed material is paramount to ensure an efficient and profitable process.Despite its long-term use,the mechanism of liquid injection into gas-solid fluidized beds continues to raise questions and is only partially understood.This paper provides a thorough and up-to-date review of experimental and numerical investigations of gas-liquid sprays into gas-solid fluidized beds conducted over the past decades.based on the surveyed literature,a phenomenological description of the prevalent mechanisms of gas-liquid injection under different operating conditions is presented.This review identifies suitable computational fluid dynamic models for simulating the mechanisms involved in gas-liquid-solid interactions along with recommendations for future numer-ical and experimental work.
