A 73-year old man presented with abdominal pain. A tumor with central ulceration was observed in the ileum using double-balloon enteroscopy. Histological findings of the biopsy specimens were consistent with malignant lymphoma. Double-balloon enteroscopy confirmed the diagnosis of a malignant lymphoma tumor which was surgically resected. The patient is still in complete remission now.

TCPSO (Two-swarm Cooperative Particle Swarm Optimization) has been proposed by Sun and Li in 2014. TCPSO divides the swarms into two groups with different migration rules, and it has higher performance for high-dimensional nonlinear optimization problems than traditional PSO and other modified method of PSO. This paper proposes a particle swarm optimization by modifying TCPSO to avoid inappropriate convergence onto local optima. The quite feature of the proposed method is that two kinds of subpopulations constructed based on the scheme of TCPSO are divided into some clusters based on distance measure, k-means clustering method, to maintain both diversity and centralization of search process are maintained. This paper conducts numerical experiments using several types of functions, and the experimental results indicate that the proposed method has higher performance than the TCPSO for large-scale optimization problems.

The bird cherry-oat aphid (Rhopalosiphum padi [Linnaeus, 1758]) is considered a key pest of cereal crops worldwide, causing direct damage through sap feeding and by acting as a vector for viral diseases. Managing aphids is challenging because of their biology and potential resistance to insecticides. Developing resistant barley genotypes is a sustainable strategy for managing BCOA. In this study, we assessed responses of susceptible “Morex” and resistant “BCO R001” barley, Hordeum vulgare L. genotypes to different initial BCOA densities (0, 50, 100 or 200 ***-1). Physiological and morphological parameters were measured weekly for four weeks after infestation. Chlorophyll content, photosynthetic rate, plant aerial fresh and dry weight were greater for the resistant cultivar at lower aphid abundances and up to three weeks after infestation. Carbon assimilation curves (A/Ci) of infested “BCO R001” were similar to controls 15 days post infestation, differing from Morex. However, BCOA infestation of 50 ***-1 for two weeks negatively impacted the fitness of both genotypes. Initial resistance by BCO R001 to BCOA infestation can allow growers and natural enemies more time contributing to more effective and sustainable management of BCOA infestations.

Comparison Study on Different Quantification Methods of Diffuse Myocardial Fibrosis of Dilated Cardiomyopathy Using Myocardial T1 Value

Purpose: The purpose is to compare several quantification methods and clarify which quantification method is reliable to estimate diffuse myocardial fibrosis with cardiac MRI in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) using myocardial T1 value. Methods and Results: Delayed enhancement imaging was performed in 52 patients with DCM and 10 control subjects to identify fibrosis using an inversion time scout sequence. The mean contrast-enhanced myocardial (M) T1 values of the pre and post contrast-enhanced myocardial and left ventricular lumen (L) of control and dilated cardiomyopathy cases were compared. The calculated post M T1 value, pre M T1 value-post M T1 value, and (pre M TI value-post M T1 value)/(pre L T1 value-post L T1 value) were significantly different between the patient group and the control group (344.5 ± 31.6 vs. 390.4 ± 19.3 msec, 239.9 ± 64.2 msec vs. 134.0 ± 28.9 msec, and 0.50 ± 0.11 vs. 0.30 ± 0.60, respectively). (Pre M T1 value-post M T1 value)/(pre L T1 value-post L T1 value) was significantly the most related to the left ventricular ejection fraction (r = 0.66, p Conclusion: (Pre M T1 value-post M T1 value)/(pre L T1 value-post L T1 value) was the most reliable quantification method to estimate the severity of DCM.

Objective: To evaluate the potential of local mosquitoes to act as vectors for dengue transmission in ***: Serotype 2 Th NH28/93 was used to test the dengue susceptibility profiles of Aedes flavopictus miyarai(Ae. f. miyarai), Aedes galloisi(Ae. galloisi) and Aedes albopictus(***), which were collected in Japan. We used Aedes aegypti from Thailand as a positive control. The mosquitoes were infected with the virus intrathoracically or orally. At 10 or 14 days post infection, the mosquitoes were dissected and total RNA was extracted from their abdomens, thoraxes, heads and legs. Mosquito susceptibility to dengue virus was evaluated using RT-PCR with dengue virus-specific primers. Differences in the infection and mortality rates of the different mosquito species were tested using Fisher's exact probability ***: The infection rates for dengue virus administered intrathoracically to Ae. f. miyarai,Ae. galloisi and Aedes aegypti mosquitoes were identical by RT-PCR on Day 10 post *** of the body parts we tested were RT-PCR-positive for dengue virus. For the orally administered virus, the infection rates in the different body parts of the Ae. f. miyarai mosquitoes were slightly higher than those of Ae. albopictus mosquitoes, but were similar to the control mosquitoes(P > 0.05). The mortality rates for Ae. f. miyarai and Ae. albopictus mosquitoes were similar(P = 0.19). Our data indicated that dengue virus was able to replicate and disseminate to secondary infection sites in all of the four mosquito species(Japanese and Thai).Conclusions: Ae. albopictus is a well-known candidate for dengue transmission in Japan. However, our data suggest that Ae. f. miyarai from Ishigaki Island(near Okinawa Island) and Ae. galloisi from Hokkaido(Northern Japan) should also be regarded as potential vectors for dengue transmission in these regions. Further studies on these mosquitoes should be conducted.

Half centuries of follow-up survey has enabled the architects and urban planners to design rationally by the aid of planning Nonetheless, limitation has occurred at planning because city has been changing its utility in accordance with its users＇ demand. In this paper, the authors proposed a method to analyze trait of users in market areas near stations by analyzing location based social network. After the datum collection from geotagged tweets, these GPS （global positioning system） datum were plotted to map attained from yahoo open location platform. Then the morphological analysis and terminology extraction system extracted the keywords and their scores. After calculating the distance from stations and users＇ GPS coordination, the authors extracted the array of keywords and corresponding scores in some station market area. Lastly, ratios of all users＇ scores and city＇s scores were calculated to examine the locality. Full combination of data collection, natural language processing and visualization enabled the authors to envisage distribution of collective background in city.

This paper reports the effects of different culture conditions for Dunaliella salina SA32007 from Salar de Atacama (second Region, northern ofChile) over biomass, lipid production and triglycerides synthesis. A maximum value of microalgae density (8.2 × 109 Cells/L) and an intrinsic growth rate (0.17 d-1), were obtained using a culture with 0.5 mol/L of NaCl and a nitrogen/phosphorous (N/P) limitation of 14/1. The triglycerides production was significantly favoured under nitrogen deficiency conditions (Mann-Whitney test;p = 0.0043). However there was a nitrogen-limiting threshold for the stimulation and accumulation of triglycerides (N/P: 14/1), lower than that limit, these compounds would not be accumulated. It was also observed that triglyceride content was not proportional to the total lipid content and the maximum number of cells. The aeration system employed stimulated the growth and synthesis of structural organic molecules. Regarding microalgae growth stage subjected to nitrogen deficiency, when the deficit was applied before the lag phase, the negative effect on the biomass and the triglycerides production decreased.
