BACKGROUND The clinical trend and characteristics of peptic ulcer disease(PUD)have not fully been investigated in the past *** To evaluate the changing trends and characteristics of PUD according to age and METHODS We analyzed seven hospital databases converted into the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership-Common Data Model between 2010 and *** classified patients with PUD who underwent rapid urease tests or Helicobacter pylori(***)serology into three groups:***-related,drug[nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs)or aspirin]-related,and idiopathic(***/NSAID/aspirin-negative)PUD and compared the yearly trends and characteristics among the three *** We included 26785 patients in 7 databases,and the proportion of old age(≥65 years)was 38.8%.The overall number of PUD exhibited no decrease,whereas PUD in old age revealed an increasing trend(P=0.01 for trend).Of the 19601 patients,41.8%had ***-related,36.1%had drug-related,and 22.1%had idiopathic *** PUD exhibited a decreasing trend after 2014(P=0.01),drug-related PUD demonstrated an increasing trend(P=0.04),and idiopathic PUD showed an increasing trend in the old-age group(P=0.01)during 10 *** with drug-related PUD had significantly more comorbidities and concomitant ulcerogenic *** idiopathic PUD group had a significantly higher number of patients with chronic liver *** With the aging population increase,the effects of concomitant ulcerogenic drugs and preventive strategies should be investigated in drug-induced *** studies are required to clarify the relationship between idiopathic PUD and chronic liver disease.

BACKGROUND Post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) pancreatitis(PEP)is a critical and poorly managed complication of ERCP. Endoscopists need to understand the risk factors for PEP. However, the majority of studies investigating ERCP-related risk factors have included well-trained endoscopists,with the issue of endoscopist experience on PEP incidence not having been systematically *** To explore the risk factors for PEP in beginner endoscopists without *** We performed a retrospective analysis of 293 patients, with na?ve papilla and no history of pancreatitis, treated using bile duct cannulation. Patients were classified according to the endoscopist’s experience(beginner vs expert). The angle of the distal common bile duct(CBD) was measured as the angle between the lower wall of the bile duct and a vertical line extending to the lower wall of the bile duct on coronal view computed *** After propensity matching, there were no differences between patients treated by the expert and beginner endoscopist with regard to age, sex, mean bile duct dilatation, and ratio of benign disease. The distal CBD angle was classified as acute(> 30o) or obtuse(≤ 30o), based on the mean angle of 29.9o for the group. Spinal cord injury necessitates effective rehabilitation strategies, with exercise therapies showing promise in promoting recovery. This study investigated the impact of rehabilitation exercise on functional recovery and morphological changes following thoracic contusive spinal cord injury. After a 7-day recovery period after spinal cord injury, mice were assigned to either a trained group(10 weeks of voluntary running wheel or forced treadmill exercise) or an untrained group. Bi-weekly assessments revealed that the exercise-trained group, particularly the voluntary wheel exercise subgroup, displayed significantly improved locomotor recovery, more plasticity of dopaminergic and serotonin modulation compared with the untrained group. Additionally, exercise interventions led to gait pattern restoration and enhanced transcranial magnetic motor-evoked potentials. Despite consistent injury areas across groups, exercise training promoted terminal innervation of descending axons. In summary, voluntary wheel exercise shows promise for enhancing outcomes after thoracic contusive spinal cord injury, emphasizing the role of exercise modality in promoting recovery and morphological changes in spinal cord injuries. Our findings will influence future strategies for rehabilitation exercises, restoring functional movement after spinal cord injury.

BACKGROUND The cellular prion protein(PrPC),traditionally associated with neurodegenerative disorders,plays an important role in cancer progression and metastasis by inhibiting *** To investigate the influence of PrPC expression in cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)on patient outcomes following surgical *** Patients who underwent curative surgical resection for either intrahepatic or hilar CCA were enrolled in this retrospective *** on the immunohistochemical staining results of the surgical specimens,patients were categorized into two groups:The low PrPC group(negative or 1+)and the high PrPC group(2+or 3+).Survival analyses,including overall survival and recurrence-free survival,were conducted using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared using the log-rank *** In total,seventy-six patients diagnosed with CCA(39 with intrahepatic and 37 with hilar CCA)underwent curative hepatectomy from January 2011 to November *** these patients,38(50%)demonstrated high PrPC expression,whereas the remaining 38(50%)showed low expression of *** a median follow-up period of 31.2 months(range:1 to 137 months),the high PrPC group had a significantly shorter median overall survival than the low PrPC group(40.4 months vs 137.9 months,respectively;P=0.041).Moreover,the high PrPC group had a significantly shorter median recurrence-free survival than the low PrPC group(13.3 months vs 23.8 months,respectively;P=0.026).CONCLUSION PrPC expression is significantly associated with early recurrence and decreased survival period in CCA patients following surgical ***,PrPC may be used as a prognostic factor in treatment planning.

In this paper, we present a framework for the generation and control of an Internet-based 3-dimensional game virtual environment that allows a character to navigate through the environment. Our framework includes 3-dimensional terrain mesh data processing, a map editor, scene processing, collision processing, and walkthrough control. We also define an environment-specific semantic information editor, which can be applied using specific location obtained from the real world. Users can insert text information related to the characters real position in the real world during navigation in the game virtual environment.

In this work,variation in the dynamic recrystallization(DRX)and dynamic precipitation behavior of AZ80 alloy during extrusion due to changes in extrusion temperature was investigated,and the resultant microstructure and yield asymmetry were *** the extrusion temperature increases from 250℃to 350℃,the primary DRX mechanism changes from twin-induced DRX to discontinuous DRX,resulting in an increase in the DRX area fraction and un DRXed grain *** addition,as the extrusion temperature rises,Mg17Al12 precipitation during extrusion decreases sharply throughout the extruded *** reduction in the compressive yield strength(CYS)with increasing extrusion temperature is more pronounced than it is for the tensile yield strength(TYS),which ultimately increases the yield asymmetry of the extruded *** higher extrusion temperature has less of an influence on the TYS due to the promotion of certain hardening *** the other hand,the greater reduction in the CYS is attributed to the increased fraction and size of regions in which{1012}twins predominantly form and the lower amount of precipitates,which effectively facilitates{1012}twinning.
