Geochemistry and crystal shape,size and spatial distribution in arc-related gabbro,Urmia,NW Iran

The mafic intrusive Moskin and Parvaneh regions in the northwest and south of Urmia were investigated for their geochemistry and petro-physical properties such as size,shape,and spatial distribution of their crystals.This type of study can be a powerful tool for analyzing the history of magma crystallization,along with geochemistry examinations.The gabbroic calc-alkaline rocks,with the Early Cenozoic is the relative age,consist of coarse plagioclase and amphibole with rare clinopyroxene and olivine in the Sanandaj-Sirjan zone at sedimentary-structural subdivisions of Iran.The depletion of HFSEs and enrichment of LILEs as arc-related rocks,as well as lower crust contamination(Nb/Th and K/Ce)symptoms,show that these gabbros formed at the continental arc setting from an enriched source.Considering the geographical position and relative age of the gabbros,they possibly outcropped during the Neo-Tethys subduction processes after the enrichment by considerably lower crust effects.The amphibole and plagioclase crystals with considerable abundance show linear crystal size distribution(CSD)patterns with a slope of(-1/Gt)-3 to-4 for amphiboles and plagioclase except for Parvaneh plagioclase which shows-16.The annealing(Ostwald ripening)caused the convex CSD on the small grains part at Parvaneh gabbro.Therefore,the ratio of nucleation to growth rates(J/G)for these minerals is 5-6 times,only for Parvaneh plagioclase is ten times which numerous nuclei were made by a significant degree of overstepping in the rocks.There is no magma mixing evidence because of the linear(one population of crystals)CSD patterns.The shape of amphibole crystals in gabbros is bladed(with S/I=0.4-0.5 and I/L=0.1-0.3)and bladed to tabular for plagioclase(S/I=0.4 and I/L=0.6-0.7).The spatial distribution patterns(SDPs)are calculated from a big R-value based on the nearest neighbor’s theory for amphibole and plagioclase crystals,confirming clustered SDP for all of them.Also,the dihedral angle measurements(between amphibole and plagioclase grains)display

Organized physical activity and sedentary behaviors in children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder,cerebral palsy,and intellectual disability

BACKGROUND There is little data on physical activity(PA),organized PA(OPA),and sedentary behaviors in autism spectrum disorders(ASD)and other neurodevelopmental disorders in developing countries.AIM To examine OPA,non-OPA,and sedentary behaviors and their associated factors in children and adolescents with ASD,cerebral palsy(CP),and intellectual disability(ID).METHODS A total of 1020 children and adolescents with ASD,CP,and ID were assessed regarding the child and family information as well as the Children’s Leisure Activities Study Survey.RESULTS The results showed that the OPA level was significantly lower than non-OPA in all groups.Furthermore,the OPA level was significantly lower in the CP group compared to ASD and ID groups(P<0.001).Also,moderate(P<0.001),vigorous(P<0.05),and total(P<0.001)physical activity levels were significantly different between all three groups,with the values being higher in the ASD group compared to the other two.The mean of the total sedentary behavior duration in the ASD group(1819.4 min/week,SD:1680)was significantly lower than in the CP group(2687 min/week,SD:2673)(P=0.007)but not ID group(2176 min/week,SD:2168.9)(P=0.525).CONCLUSION Our findings remark on the participation rate of PA,OPA,and sedentary behaviors of children and adolescents with ASD,CP,and ID in a developing country.In contrast,the need for developing standards of PA/OPA participation in neurodevelopmental disorders is discussed.

People often communicate with auto-answering tools such as conversational agents due to their 24/7 availability and unbiased responses.However,chatbots are normally designed for specific purposes and areas of experience and cannot answer questions outside their scope.Chatbots employ Natural Language Understanding(NLU)to infer their responses.There is a need for a chatbot that can learn from inquiries and expand its area of experience with time.This chatbot must be able to build profiles representing intended topics in a similar way to the human brain for fast retrieval.This study proposes a methodology to enhance a chatbot’s brain functionality by clustering available knowledge bases on sets of related themes and building representative profiles.We used a COVID-19 information dataset to evaluate the proposed methodology.The pandemic has been accompanied by an“infodemic”of fake news.The chatbot was evaluated by a medical doctor and a public trial of 308 real users.Evaluationswere obtained and statistically analyzed tomeasure effectiveness,efficiency,and satisfaction as described by the ISO9214 standard.The proposed COVID-19 chatbot system relieves doctors from answering questions.Chatbots provide an example of the use of technology to handle an infodemic.

Population size estimation of chirp and grunt generating fish and mammals using cross-correlation based technique with three acoustic sensors

Passive acoustic monitoring has the potential to be a useful tool for population estimation of sound-producing fish and mammals(mostly whales).Previous work on population estimates of callers employed a simple cross-correlation technique with recordings from two acoustic sensors,and the current work extends the technique to two configurations of a 3-acoustic sensors array using two different sounds,i.e.,chirps which is commonly generated by damselfish(Dascyllus aruanus),humpback whales(Megaptera novaeangliae),dugongs(Dugong dugon)etc.,species,and grunts which is commonly generated by Japanese gurnard(Chelidonichthys kumu),Grey gurnard(Eutrigla gurnardus),gulf toadfish(O.beta),etc.,species.We compared simulated results from this technique with values determined by theoretical approach.We have found that an increasing number of cross-correlation function(CCF)provide better results using this technique.However,the technique has some limitations including negligence of multipath interference,assuming the delays to be integer.

Load-settlement behaviour of a strip footing resting on iron ore tailings as a structural fill

This study presents a laboratory investigation of load-settlement behaviour of a strip footing resting on iron ore tailings used as a structural fill.The footing was placed at various depths in the tailings bed.The relative density of the tailings was varied as D_r = 50%,70%and 90%.An incremental load was applied on the footing while observing the settlement until the failure took place.The results obtained for tailings were compared with those for the sandy soil.It is observed that the load-bearing capacity and stiffness increase with an increase in footing embedment depth and relative density.Compared to load-settlement behaviour of Perth sandy soil,the tailings fill could have as high as 22 times and 13.5 times the load-bearing capacity and stiffness,respectively.Therefore,the replacement of sandy soil with iron ore tailings for structural fills is cost-effective,and moreover,this application contributes to environmental sustainability in construction.

Mental training can improve physical activity behavior in adolescent girls

Background:Lately,physical activity(PA) in young girls has been frequently discussed,thus we were interested to examine whether a mental training intervention can increase the level of PA in young girls.Methods:A sample of 56 girls aged 15.4 ± 0.3 years(mean ± SD) was assigned to either the intervention or control group.We then conducted a6-week mental imagery training program on young female participants.PA was evaluated with objective accelerometer monitors.Physical self-concept was also assessed in all participants.Results:Young females' PA increased after a course of mental training compared to female participants in control group.Furthermore,physical self-concept improved related to mental training program.Conclusion:Exercise imagery may be an effective method of PA increase besides psychological enhancement in young girls.

Compocasting of A356-CNT composite

A356 aluminum alloys reinforced with carbon nano-tubes (CNTs) were produced by stir casting and compocasting routes and their microstructural characteristics and hardness were examined.In order to alleviate the problems associated with poor wettability, agglomeration and gravity segregation of CNTs in the melt, CNTs were introduced into the melts by injection of CNT deposited aluminum particles instead of raw CNTs.Aluminum particles with mean diameters of less than 100 μm were first deposited by CNTs using Ni-P electroless plating technique and then injected into the melt agitated by a mechanical stirrer.The slurry was subsequently cast at temperatures corresponding to full liquid as well as 0.15 and 0.30 solid fractions.The results show that addition of CNTs to A356 matrix can significantly refine both full liquid and semi-solid cast microstructures.Hardness of the samples is also significantly increased by addition of CNTs and A356-CNT composite cast at 0.3 solid fraction produces the highest hardness.

Toxic chemotherapeutic nutrition of cancer cells by alkaline glucosodiene molecules via targeting metabolic of cancerous tumors: a promising theory for cancer treatment

Cancer is a genetic disease characterized by heritable defects in cellular regulatory mechanisms.Tumor cells must adapt their metabolism to survive and proliferate in the challenging conditions of the tumor microenvironment.To maintain uncontrolled cellular growth and survival,cancer cells alter their metabolism,which makes them dependent on a steady supply of nutrients and energy.Almost a century ago,the Warburg theory suggested that cancer cells consume glucose even in the presence of oxygen.Recent studies have confirmed that cancer cells indeed consume significantly more glucose than normal cells.Cancerous tumors require an acidic microenvironment with low oxygen levels for growth and spread.However,recent advances in pH measurement have shown that the intracellular pH of cancer cells is neutral or slightly alkaline compared to normal tissue cells.This finding indicates that not all tumors are highly acidic.Taking advantage of cancer cells’high glucose consumption,a strategy to lyse cancer cells is tested by means of glucose modifications that exploit the characteristics of their uncontrolled growth process.From the study of the molecular structure to give him alkaline properties that enable him to make defects in the tumor structure and possibly achieve cell killing,this situation will have a killing effect on cancer cells if small molecules of toxic atoms(alkaline atoms)can be continuously supplied to them through food,due to the uncontrolled consumption of glucose molecules by cancer cells.This theory attempts to investigate by changing the atomic structure of glucose molecules to make them alkaline glucosodiene molecules as one of the methods to kill cancer cells.By preparing alkaline glucosodiene molecules and performing animal experiments and histological observations,it was shown that tumors without alkaline treatment showed a tendency to infiltrate and grow,while tumors treated with glucosodiene molecules showed complete disappearance of cell structure and nucleolysis,supporting the validity of the the

Grain Size Effect on the Martensite Formation in a High-Manganese TWIP Steel by the Rietveld Method

The aim of the present work was to study the effect of austenite grain size （AGS） on the martensite formation in a high-manganese twinning-induced plasticity （TWIP） steel. The results of a quantitative microstructural characterization of the steel by the whole X-ray pattern fitting Rietveld software, materials analysis using diffraction （MAUD）, indicated that the volume fraction of αbcc-martensite increases with increasing AGS. However, the value of the stacking fault probability （Psf） does not show a large variation for samples with different values of AGS under water-quenching conditions.
