Conventionally,the reliability of a web portal is validated with generalized conventional methods,but they fail to provide the desired ***,we need to include other quality factors that affect reliability such as usability for improving the reliability in addition to the conventional reliability ***,the primary objectives of web portals are to provide interactive integration of multiple functions confirming diverse requirements in an efficient *** this paper,we employ testing profiles tomeasure the reliability through software operational profile,input space profile and usability profile along with qualitative measures of reliability and ***,the case study used for verification is based on aweb application that facilitates information and knowledge sharing among its online *** proposed scheme is compared with the conventional reliability improvement method in terms of failure detection and *** final results unveil that the computation of reliability by using the traditional method(utilizing failure points with the assistance of mean Time Between Failures(mTBF)and mean Time To Failure(mTTF)becomes ineffective under certain *** such situations,the proposed scheme helps to compute the reliability in an effective ***,the outcomes of the study provide insight recommendations about the testing and measurement of reliability for Web based software or applications.

Performance of passive and reactive profiled median barriers in traffic noise reduction

median noise barriers, like parallel noise barriers, can be employed to reduce the impact of traffic on roadside communities via the direct propagation path. The performance of different shapes of median barriers was compared using reactive and passive surfaces and a 2D boundary element method (BEm). In the case of reactive surfaces, quadratic residue diffusers (QRDs) and primitive root diffusers (PRDs) were used on the top and stem surfaces of median barriers. To introduce passive barriers, two different absorbent materials including fibrous material and a grass surface with flow resistivity of 20 000 and 2500 kg/(s·m2), respectively, were similarly applied. The effect of thin absorptive barriers was similar at lower frequencies and better at mid and high frequencies to that of their equivalent rigid barriers. more improvement was achieved by covering the top surface of thick barriers with grass rather than with fibrous material. The performance of QRD and PRD barriers where the diffuser was located on the top surface was more frequency dependent than that of barriers coated with fibrous material. A comparison of the average A-weighted insertion loss in the thick barriers showed that the greatest improvement (2.59 dB (A)) was achieved using a barrier of 30-cm thickness covered with grass.

Effects of hydrogel-encapsulated bacteria on the healing efficiency and compressive strength of concrete

microbial-induced calcium carbonate precipitation is a promising technology for self-healing concrete due to its capability to seal *** main goal of this study was to evaluate the effects of adding hydrogelencapsulated bacteria on the compressive strength and the self-healing efficiency of *** achieve this objective,12 sets of mortar samples were prepared,including three different mineral precursors(magnesium acetate,calcium lactate,and sodium lactate),at two concentrations(67.76 and 75.00 mm/L),and under two different biological conditions(with and without bacteria).In addition,a set of plain mortar samples was prepared to serve as a *** each sample set,three mortar cubes and three beams were prepared and subjected to compression and flexural strength *** the compression tests,it was found that the sample containing calcium lactate along with yeast extract and bacteria displayed the best *** for the flexural tests,once cracked,the beams were subjected to 28 d of wet/dry cycles(16 h of water immersion and 8 h of drying),where the bottom crack width was monitored(at 0,3,7,14,28 d of wet/dry cycles).Once the sample with the highest healing efficiency was identified(the one containing calcium lactate and hydrogel-encapsulated bacteria),the study was scaled up to concrete *** sets of concrete cylinders(consisting of three control samples and three samples with bacteria along with calcium lactate)were tested under compression in order to evaluate the effect of the bacteria-precursor combination on the concrete mechanical *** samples that yielded the greatest compressive strength were the ones containing calcium lactate and bacteria,displaying an improvement of 17%as compared to the control ***,a flexural strength recovery analysis was performed on the concrete specimens revealing that the control showed better flexural strength recovery than the bacteriacontaining variant(41.5%vs.26.1%)after

Ultra-Low-Dose Pre-metallation Strategy Served for Commercial metal-Ion Capacitors

Sacrificial pre-metallation strategy could compensate for the irreversible consumption of metal ions and reduce the potential of anode,thereby elevating the cycle performance as well as open-circuit voltage for full metal ion capacitors(mICs).However,suffered from massive-dosage abuse,exorbitant decomposition potential,and side effects of decomposition residue,the wide application of sacrificial approach was ***,assisted with density functional theory calculations,strongly coupled interface(m-O-C,m=Li/Na/K)and electron donating group have been put forward to regulate the band gap and highest occupied molecular orbital level of metal oxalate(m_(2)C_(2)O_(4)),reducing polarization phenomenon and Gibbs free energy required for decomposition,which eventually decrease the practical decomposition potential from 4.50 to 3.95 ***,full sodium ion capacitors constituted of commercial materials(activated carbon//hard carbon)could deliver a prominent energy density of 118.2 Wh kg^(−1)as well as excellent cycle stability under an ultra-low dosage pre-sodiation reagent of 15-30 wt%(far less than currently 100 wt%).Noteworthily,decomposition mechanism of sacrificial compound and the relative influence on the system of mICs after pre-metallation were initially revealed by in situ differential electrochemical mass spectrometry,offering in-depth insights for comprehending the function of cathode *** addition,this breakthrough has been successfully utilized in high performance lithium/potassium ion capacitors with Li_(2)C_(2)O_(4)/K_(2)C_(2)O_(4) as pre-metallation reagent,which will convincingly promote the commercialization of mICs.

利用化学浴沉积（CBD）结合热解工艺制备了WO3修饰TiO2纳米管（WTN）阵列,且WTN阵列分布均匀。通过改变沉积时间可调整WTN的钨含量。利用SEm、EDX、XRD对WTN进行了表征。结果表明,阴极氧化后,TiO2纳米管生长于钛体基体上,纳米管的内径为90120 nm,外径为120160 nm,壁厚在3060 nm范围,长约39μm。经C.I.硫化红14的有效去除证实,修饰TiO2纳米管的WO3增强了WTN光催化活性,在可见光照射下,所制备复合膜光催化活性优于未修饰纳米管阵列（TN）。

Tuberculum Sellae meningiomas: Transcranial Approaches Results and Complications

Objective: Tuberculum sellae meningiomas constitute about 5% - 10% of intracranial meningiomas. They are difficult to treat, owing to their close association with the optic nerves, chiasma, and major cerebral arteries. This retrospective study aims to report on the clinical outcome after transcranial approach for treatment of tuberculem sellae meningiomas at our hospital. Patients and methods: We reviewed patients with tuberculem sellae meningiomas and underwent transcranial surgical approaches for their lesions at Sohag university hospitals over a 4 years period starting from January 2018. The patients’ clinical and radiological data, operative details, degrees of tumor removal, outcomes and complications were reported. Results: There were 17 patients with tuberculem sellae meningiomas with a mean age of 46.3 years. Female patients constituted 70% of cases. Pterional approach was used in 59% of cases and unilateral subfrontal approach was used in 41% of cases. Gross total tumor removal was achieved in 82% of cases. Visual acuity improved in 47%, remained unchanged in 41%, and worsened in 5.9% of patients. Transient post-operative diabetes inspidus and post-operative haematoma in tumor bed each occurred in 5.9% of patients. Conclusion: Transcranial removal of tuberculum sellae meningioma is still considered the standard approach, with high rate of gross total resection and better visual outcome and low mortality and morbidity.

Economics of the plant species used in homestead agroforestry on an offshore Sandwip Island of Chittagong District, Bangladesh

This study was performed in five villages of Sandwip Upazila, Chittagong district with a view to identify the tree resources, utilization pattern and economic return of major fruit and timber tree species. Information collected from a total of 60 households ranging from marginal, small, medium and large categories. Number of plant species increased with the increase of homestead area. A total of 33 plant species were recorded from the homegarden, of which 19 were fruit and 14 were timber tree species. Considerable number of vegetables was also planted under the shade of the homestead trees. The investment analysis showed that average benefit-cost ratios were greater than one, net present values were positive and internal rate of returns were more than 10%. Long term investment on horticulture and timber tree species is highly profitable if species like Artocarpus heterophyllus, Cocos nucifera, Tectona grandis and Swietenia macrophylla are planted.

Patient Enablement in Chronic Diseases in Primary Health Care, Riyadh City, KSA

Background: Chronic diseases continue to cause high morbidity and mortality in Saudi Arabia. Patients severing from diabetes mellitus, hypertension and associated complications have recently increased and most of these patients find it extremely difficult to understand or cope with their illness. The objective of this study is to determine the level of patients’ enablement in chronic disease and its predictors. methods: A community based cross-sectional study was conducted between December 2014 and January 2015. Six hundred and four (604) Patients attending the Chronic Disease Clinic in Alwazarat Health center were randomly selected to participate in the study. Patients aged 18 years and above, who willingly agreed to participate, were included in the study. Self-reported questionnaire was used to determine patient level of enablement. Descriptive statistics such as mean and median were calculated and binary logistic regression was employed to determine the predictors of patient’s enablement to chronic disease. Results: Our results show that five hundred and sixty five (565) out of (604) patients participated in the study with 86.6% response rate. Type 2 diabetes mellitus affecting 40.65% while hypertension affecting 37.79% of the patients in Al wazarat health center. Patient’s enablement to chronic disease was very low and ranged between 2.41 and 1.53 out of 5.0. Binary logistic regression shows that age (male: OR;0.84, 95% CI, 0.72 - 1.04, female. OR;1.04, 95% CI 0.88 - 1.39), marital status (male: OR;0.72, 95% CI 0.54 - 1.11, female: OR 1.01;95% CI 0.82 - 1.29), patient educational level and number of problems discussed with physician and consultation length between male patients and their physician were statistically significant and correlated with patients enablement to chronic disease (P ment in chronic disease is very low but constitutes an important arm in patients care management. 背景:骨关节炎是中年人和老年人中普遍存在的一种疾病。关节畸形、活动或静息痛和关节功能障碍是其主要症状。软骨细胞外基质的破坏和炎症反应是其发病的关键因素。骨关节炎发病的主要及加重因素是炎症的发生和炎症反应。相关研究表明Lcn2的表达上升可以上调软骨降解酶的表达,Lcn2的异常表达可诱导软骨下骨的形成和钙化软骨区的扩大,最终导致软骨组织的降解。17-β雌激素(E2)(17-βESTRADIOL)在软骨细胞中特异性表达,可抑制Lcn2的表达并延缓骨关节炎(OA)的进展;Lcn2作为软骨中重要的脂质运载蛋白之一,对调节软骨稳态及骨代谢具有决定性的作用。但是E2是否可以调节Lcn2的表达,并以什么样方式调控Lcn2的表达尚未见报道。方法:1.我们用的C57小鼠原代软骨细胞的分离、培养和冻存。2.应用细胞计数试剂盒-8(CCK-8)技术来确定E2对小鼠软骨细胞的活性的影响并确定其安全浓度。3.使用逆转录聚合酶链反应(RT-PCR)确定受不同梯度E2浓度刺激的小鼠软骨细胞中Lcn2基因表达水平。4.使用蛋白质印迹(Western-blotting,WB)检查由不同E2浓度梯度处理的小鼠软骨细胞中Lcn2的蛋白质表达。5.使用免疫荧光实验技术(Immunofluorescence technique)测量被各E2浓度处理的小鼠软骨细胞的荧光强度。结果:1.在0-0.1μm的浓度梯度中,17β-雌激素对软骨细胞无明显毒副作用。2.17β-雌激素能下调LCN2的m RNA水平。*** blotting检测在不同浓度梯度E2刺激下,小鼠软骨细胞中的Lcn2蛋白的相对表达量,且Lcn2的表达量与E2浓度呈负相关。4.17β-雌激素对小鼠软骨细胞内Lcn2表达的影响,Lcn2免疫荧光强度随E2浓度增加而减弱。结论:雌激素通过抑制LCN2的表达和维持软骨细胞表型,减弱软骨细胞的炎症反应。
