Double-antibody-based nano-biosensing systemfor the onsite monitoring of SARS-CoV-2 variants

The fast and reliable diagnosis of COVID-19 is the foremost priority for promoting public health ***, double-antibody-based immunobiosensor chips were designed, constructed, and exploited for clinicaldiagnosis. Gold nanoparticles/tungsten oxide/carbon nanotubes (AuNPs/WO3/CNTs) were used as the active workingsensor surface to support the chemical immobilization of a mixture of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies (anti-RBD-S and anti-RBD-S-anti-Llama monoclonal antibodies). The morphology and chemical functionalization of the fabricateddisposable immunochips was characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry (CV), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). After full assayoptimization, the immunobiosensor showed a high sensitivity to detect SARS-CoV-2-S protein with limits of detectionand quantification of 1.8 and 5.6 pg/mL, respectively. On the other hand, for the SARS-CoV-2 whole virus particleanalysis, the detection and quantification limits were determined to be 5.7 and 17 pg/mL, respectively. The biosensorshowed a highly selective response toward SARS-CoV-2, even in the presence of influenza, nontargeting humancoronaviruses, and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV). The immunochips exhibited distinctresponses toward the variants of concern: B.1>C.36.3>Omicron> Delta> Alpha coronavirus variants. For biosensorvalidation, twenty-nine clinical specimens were analyzed, and the impedimetric responses were positively detected fortwo Delta samples, eighteen Omicron samples, and six B.1-type samples in addition to three negative ***, the immunobiosensor was fabricated in the form of ready-to-use chips capable of sensitive detection ofvirus variants, especially variants of concern (VOC) and interest, in a specimen within 15 min. Several studies on functionally graded materials(FGMs)have been done by researchers,but few studies have dealt with the impact of the modification of the properties of materials with regard to the functional propagation of the waves in *** work aims to explore the effects of changing compositional characteristics and the volume fraction of the constituent of plate materials regarding the wave propagation response of thick plates of *** model is based on a higher-order theory and a new displacement field with four unknowns that introduce indeterminate integral variables with a hyperbolic arcsine *** FGM plate is assumed to consist of a mixture of metal and ceramic,and its properties change depending on the power functions of the thickness of the plate,such as linear,quadratic,cubic,and inverse *** utilizing Hamilton’s principle,general formulae of the wave propagation were obtained to establish wave modes and phase velocity curves of the wave propagation in a functionally graded plate,including the effects of changing compositional characteristics of materials.

Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus： a comprehensive review

The Middle East respiratory syndrome eoronavirus was first identified in 2012 and has since then remained uncontrolled. Cases have been mostly reported in the Middle East, however travel-associated cases and outbreaks have also occurred. Nosocomial and zoonotic transmission of the virus appear to he the most important routes. The infection is severe and highly fatal thus necessitating rapid and efficacious interventions. Here, we performed a comprehensive review of published literature and summarized the epidemiology of the virus. In addition, we summarized the virological aspects of the infection and reviewed the animal models used as well as vaccination and antiviral tested against it.

Archaeological research at the Sungai Batu Archaeological Complex(SBAC),which has been carried out until 2023,aims to complete the chronological data and urbanization process of the ancient *** study will especially prove that the ongoing urbanization process is aimed at developing the iron smelting industry and trade in ancient Kedah,especially in *** is because archaeological research at SBAC has proven that with the existence of the ancient Kedah iron smelting workshop at SBAC,river jetties,port management,rituals,and Buddhist monuments began to be erected,all of which can be determined by chronometric *** results of the chronometric dating have proven that the ancient Kedah Kingdom existed since the 6th century BC and was oriented towards the trade of iron resources,which allowed the use of the area to grow *** process of urbanization and land use clearly conforms to Lynch’s principle,which emphasizes the principles of 1)paths,2)edges,3)districts,4)nodes,and 5)landmarks in the development process of land use and urbanization in the complex.

Depositional environment， petrophysical evaluation and electrical properties of Zeit Formation， Northwestern shore of Gulf of Suez， Egypt

The Zeit sand reservoir is one of the most prolific formations at Northwestern side of the Gulf of Suez. In this research we will try to coordinate between electrical， petrophysical properties， depositional environment and facies discrimination in order to evaluate the hydrocarbon potentiality of studied Zeit formation. The statistical parameters for potassium (K)， thorium (Th) and Th/U ratio contents have a general increase towards northwestern parts， whereas uranium (U) content has a general increase towards southeastern parts. The sandstone facies is distinguished from the other facies by its thorium content >4 ppm. U has high carbonate content (U ≥1 ppm). Rocks’ electrical properties vary greatly depending on a number of factors. Electrical measurements were taken at frequencies range of (5×10-4Hz–100 kHz) for fully saturated samples (clayey sandstone) with NaCl (20 gm/Littre). As salinity， clay content， and frequency increase， consequently does the electrical properties. The continental condition are present in northwestern part (back-sea) which is distinguished by high K percent， high Th， high Th/U ratio， and low U contents. Low K， Th， and Th/U ratio contents， with high U contents， characterize the marine depositional environment that existed around the east and southeastern parts (fore-sea coincide with the dipping of strata). Furthermore， the studied Zeit Formation has good petrophysical properties that coincide with marine conditions. The middle and eastern parts (around ISS-94 and CSS-288) is a good reservoir (porosity 36%–39%， shale content <15%， hydrocarbon saturation 71%–92%， and net pay thickness 17–63 feet).

Pituitary macroadenoma apoplexy as a rare complication of Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitor in chronic lymphoid leukaemia

Background Pituitary apoplexy is a neurosurgical emergency and is a known yet rare complication of pituitary *** typically present with visual field defects,headache and altered *** are multiple risk factors for this complication and a thorough drug history is essential to exclude iatrogenic causes of *** present an extremely rare case of newly diagnosed pituitary insufficiency unveiled by ibrutinib therapy(a Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitor).Furthermore,after initial withdrawal of ibrutinib because of the erroneous diagnosis of Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Secretion(SIADH),its re-administration led to the development of classical pituitary apoplexy 4 months after treatment was *** presentation A male patient in his 60s with a background of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia(CLL)on ibrutinib and venetoclax presents with acute confusion and deranged *** is found to be hyponatraemic and is diagnosed with Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Secretion(SIADH)and treated with fluid *** represents again 3 weeks later with hyponatraemia and further investigations reveal pituitary insufficiency and *** was restarted on ibrutinib and venetoclax at the time of *** months later,he presents with sudden retro-orbital headache associated with *** findings include cranial nerve III,IV and XI ***’s visual field examination revealed a left visual field index(VFI)of only 1%while the right was 64%with temporal *** pupils were mid-dilated and poorly reactive to *** pituitary with contrast showed features of pituitary apoplexy and optic nerve *** was urgently referred to the neurosurgical team and underwent an emergency trans-sphenoidal hypophysectomy with circumferential excision of the ***-operative recovery was uneventful with marked improvement in vision *** patient was restarted on ibruti
