A Framework for Assessment of Water Poverty in Iran

The water shortage crisis is one of the main concerns that is threatening the biological security in Iran. According to available data and information, providing a framework for the assessment of water poverty in Iran seems crucial. The land-dividing unit in Iran is the province, and most of the governmental information is gathered based on this unit. In this sense, Isfahan province, which is one of the central provinces in Iran that is suffering from water crises, has been selected. The water poverty index(WPI), which is adopted in accordance with Iran's situation, including five components of resources, access, capacity, use, and environment, has been used for each of Isfahan's cities. “Capacity” and “use” has the greatest correlation, and it seems any advancement in water utilization for economic purposes might result in increased capacity, and vice versa. Also,there is a positive correlation between WPI and components of access, capacity, use, and environment. It can be interpreted that the lack of access to water services may be due to a lack of income or education. Finally, access, capacity, and use showed the strongest relationships between WPI and its subcategories. Therefore, these three elements should be the main focus of any initiative to manage the water poverty in Isfahan province.

Over the past decade,all-inorganic metal halide perovskites(MHPs,CsPbX_(3):X=Cl,Br,I)have been widely investigated as promising materials for optoelectronic devices such as solar cells and light-emitting *** are defecttolerant,which allows tuning of their bandgap without altering their photophysical *** a fundamental point of view,MHPs are excellent candidates for photocatalytic reactions due to their light-harvesting capability,high photogenerated charge-carrier mobility,long diffusion lengths,and tunable bandgap *** this review,we provide an overview of various MHP engineering strategies(e.g.,surface,morphological,and structural modifications,heterojunction coupling,and encapsulation)which are directly linked to the charge-carrier mobility and lifetimes,and then to the photocatalytic ***,we outline different synthetic approaches resulting in surface and morphological modifications,anion/cation substitution,metallic doping,coupling,and encapsulation that tremendously influence MHPs’stability,optical properties,and charge-carrier dynamics at variable time scales(from fs toμs).We also provide an in-depth evaluation of the MHPs for variable photoredox reactions,discussing how the optical and electronic properties help to improve their stability and efficiency.

Voronoi Based Discrete Least Squares Meshless Method for Heat Conduction Simulation in Highly Irregular Geometries

A new technique is used in Discrete Least Square Meshfree（DLSM） method to remove the common existing deficiencies of meshfree methods in handling of the problems containing cracks or concave boundaries. An enhanced Discrete Least Squares Meshless method named as VDLSM（Voronoi based Discrete Least Squares Meshless） is developed in order to solve the steady-state heat conduction problem in irregular solid domains including concave boundaries or cracks. Existing meshless methods cannot estimate precisely the required unknowns in the vicinity of the above mentioned boundaries. Conducted researches are limited to domains with regular convex boundaries. To this end, the advantages of the Voronoi tessellation algorithm are implemented. The support domains of the sampling points are determined using a Voronoi tessellation algorithm. For the weight functions, a cubic spline polynomial is used based on a normalized distance variable which can provide a high degree of smoothness near those mentioned above discontinuities. Finally, Moving Least Squares（MLS） shape functions are constructed using a varitional method. This straight-forward scheme can properly estimate the unknowns（in this particular study, the temperatures at the nodal points） near and on the crack faces, crack tip or concave boundaries without need to extra backward corrective procedures, i.e. the iterative calculations for modifying the shape functions of the nodes located near or on these types of the complex boundaries. The accuracy and efficiency of the presented method are investigated by analyzing four particular examples. Obtained results from VDLSM are compared with the available analytical results or with the results of the well-known Finite Elements Method（FEM） when an analytical solution is not available. Fluidization and bubbling behavior of potash particles in a deep fluidized bed

Most existing models for predicting bubble size and bubble frequency have been developed for freely bubbling fluidized *** prediction of bubbling behavior in deep fluidized beds,however,has been a challenge due to the higher degree of bubble coalescence and break up,high probability of the slugging regime,partial fluidization,and chaotic behavior in the bubbling *** this work,the bubbling and fluidization behavior of potash particles was investigated in a deep fluidized bed employing a twin-plane electrical capacitance tomography(ECT)*** volume fraction,average bubble velocity,average bubble diameter,and bubble frequency in both bubbling and slugging regimes were measured at two different bed height ratios(H/D=3.5 and H/D=3.78).This work is the first to illustrate a sequential view of bubbles at different superficial gas velocities in a fluidized *** results show that both the bubble diameter and rising velocity increased with increasing the superficial gas velocity for the two bed heights,with larger values observed in the deeper bed compared to the shallower *** values for bubble diameter,bubble rise velocity and bubble frequency from different models are compared with the experimental data obtained from the ECT system in this *** agreement has been achieved between the values predicted by the previous models and the experimental data for the bubble diameter and bubble rise velocity with an average absolute deviation of 16%and 15%for the bed height of 49 cm and 13%and 8%for the bed height of 53 cm,respectively.
