Comparative effects of insecticides with different mechanisms of action on Chrysoperla externa （Neuroptera＂ Chrysopidae）＂ Lethal, sublethal and dose-response effects

The comprehensive knowledge that the delayed systemic and reproduction side effects can be even more deleterious than acute toxicity, has caused a shift in focus toward sublethal effects assessment on physiology and behavior of beneficial insects. In this study, we assessed the risks posed by some insecticides with different mode of action through lethal and delayed systemic sublethal effects on the pupation, adult emergence, and repro- duction of the chrysopid Chrysoperla externa （Hagen, 1861; Neuroptera： Chrysopidae）, an important predator in pest biological control. The maximum field recommended dose （MFRD） and twice （2xMFRD） for chlorantraniliprole, tebufenozide, and pyriproxyfen were harmless to C. externa. In contrast, all the tested chitin synthesis inhibitors （CSIs） were highly detrimental to the predator, despite of their lack of acute lethal toxicity. There- fore, the safety assumed by using IGRs toward beneficial insects is not valid for chrysopids. Dose-response data showed that although all CSIs have a similar mechanism of action, the relative extent of toxicity may differ （novaluron 〉 lufenuron 〉 teflubenzuron）. For CSIs, the delayed systemic effects became obvious at adult emergence, where the predicted no observable effect dose （NOED） was 1/2 048 of the MFRD for novaluron （0.085 ng/insect）, and 1/256 of the MFRD for both lufenuron （0.25 ng/insect） and teflubenzuron （0.6 ng/insect）. Finally, this work emphasized the significance of performing toxicity risk assessments with an adequate posttreatment period to avoid underestimating the toxicities of insecticides, as the acute lethal toxicity assays may not provide accurate information regarding the long-range effects of hazardous compounds.

Motor speed estimation and failure detection of a small UAV using density of maxima

This work presents the application of the technique named signal analysis based on chaos using density of maxima to analyze brushless direct current *** uses a correlation coefficient estimated from the density of maxima of the current *** study demonstrates in experiments the speed estimation of a brushless motor on a testbench and failure detection in a small flying *** experimental results demonstrate that it is possible to estimate the speed in 97.8%of the cases and to detect failure in 82.75%of the analyzed cases.

The paracetamol has more antioxidant properties than the salicylic acid on the several oxidative stress-forced models and one possible mechanism is due to electron or hydrogen transfer by the evaluated hydroxyl radicals. The antioxidant mechanism for the compounds studied here was performed by molecular modeling using quantum chemical calculations at the B3LYP level of theory. Our results show that the paracetamol has more antioxidant properties than the salicylic acid in experimental and theoretical studies. The theoretical mechanism show that the hydrogen transfer is more favorable than the electron transfer. From the study it was concluded that the electron abstraction for paracetamol is more favored than salicylic acid.

This work deals with an application in parametric modeling of problems regarding pipelines buried in static system, written in C++ using ObjectARX functions. The application is fully integrated with AutoCAD through saproms. dll and saproms. arx libraries where the stages of pre-processing, processing and post-processing are done in AutoCAD software environment itself without having to export data to another processing environment. The analysis processing is done by functions whose algorithms are based on the solution of the coupling between the FEM (finite element method) and the BEM (boundary element method). The representation of the homogeneous pipeline is made by the FEM using a finite element in the form of a cylindrical panel called CYS (cylindrical shell), developed from the homogeneous isotropic model proposed initially by Djoudi Bahai, who uses the philosophy of the assumed deformation model (assumed strain based model). The soil is taken to be a continuum infinite or semi-infinite elastic solid patterned by BEM where special boundary elements are proposed with curved surface or curved edges to represent the soil-structure interaction mainly in the areas of contact with the pipeline.
