High energy storage performance for dielectric film capacitors by designing 1D SrTiO_(3)@SiO_(2) nanofillers

The development of advanced dielectric film materials with high energy storage performance is of critical significance for pulsed power capacitor ***,the low discharged energy density(Ue)of current dielectric film material restricts their further *** this work,core-shell structured SrTiO_(3)@SiO_(2) nanowires(ST@SiO_(2) NWs)fillers are fabricated based on interface engineering for high *** optimized SiO2 insulating layer could effectively confine the mobility of space charge carriers in the interfacial zone between ST NWs and thick SiO2 insulating layer,thus reducing the interfacial polarization between the interface of nanofillers/polymer,which could be used to optimize the electric field strength and electric displacement of the corresponding *** a result,this nanocomposite film simultaneously exhibits enhanced maximum applied electric field(Emax)and(Dmax-Pr)values,thus releasing an ultrahigh discharged energy density of 14.7 J/cm^(3) at 390 MV/m,which is 99%higher than that of the conventional ST/P(VDF-CTFE)(without SiO2 coating)nanocomposite,and it is almost 2.5 times that of pure P(VDF-CTFE).This work demonstrates the superiority of the core-shell structured paraelectric nanowire in enhancing the energy storage performance of dielectric film capacitors,which is expected to guide the design of advanced energy-storage nanocomposites.

Low-temperature sintered(Na_(1/2)Bi_(1/2))_(0.935)Ba_(0.065)Ti_(0.975)(Fe_(1/2)Nb_(1/2))_(0.025)O_(3)(NBT-BT-0.025FN)lead-free incipient piezoceramics were investigated using high-purity Li_(2)CO_(3) as sintering *** the ≤0.5 wt%Li_(2)CO_(3) addition,the introduced Li^(+) cations precede to enter the A-sites of the perovskite lattice to compensate for the A-site *** the addition exceeds 0.5 wt%,the excess Lit cations will occupy B-sites and give rise to the generation of oxygen vacancies,which accelerate the mass transport and thus lower the sintering temperature effectively from 1100℃ down to 925℃.It was also found that a small amount of Lit addition has little effect on the phase structure and electromechanical properties of the system,but overweight seriously disturbs these characteristics because of the large lattice *** sintered NBT-BT-0.025FN incipient piezoceramics with 1.25 wt%Li_(2)CO_(3) addition at 925℃ provides a large strain of 0.33% and a corresponding large signal piezoelectric coefficient d_(33)^(*) of 550 pm/V at 60 kV/cm,indicating this system is a very promising candidate for lead-free co-fired multilayer actuator application.

Mass-Casualty Distribution for Emergency Healthcare:A Simulation Analysis

This study focuses on the casualty-load distribution problem that arises when a mass casualty incident(MCI)necessitates the engagement of multiple medical *** discrete event simulations,the study analyzed different MCI response regimes in Lahore,Pakistan,that vary in terms of the level of casualty-load distribution and the required coordination between the incident site and the responding *** terrorist attacks in this major metropolitan area were considered to set up experiments for comparing delays in treatment under the modeled *** analysis highlights that the number of casualties that are allowed to queue up at the nearest hospital before diverting the casualty traffic to an alternate hospital can be an important factor in reducing the overall treatment *** diverting the casualty traffic from the incident site to an alternate hospital can increase the travel time,while a delay in diversion can overload the nearest hospital,which can lead to overall longer waiting times in the *** casualty distribution mechanisms based only on the responding hospitals’available capacity and current load can perform inefficiently because they overlook the trade-off between the times casualties spend in traveling and in queues.

Using multivariate adaptive regression splines to develop relationship between rock quality designation and permeability

The assessment of in situ permeability of rock mass is challenging for large-scale projects such as reservoirs created by dams,where water tightness issues are of prime *** in situ permeability is strongly related to the frequency and distribution of discontinuities in the rock mass and quantified by rock quality designation(RQD).This paper analyzes the data of hydraulic conductivity and discontinuities sampled at different depths during the borehole investigations in the limestone and sandstone formations for the construction of hydraulic structures in *** recovered from boreholes provide RQD data,and in situ Lugeon tests elucidate the permeability.A modern technique of multivariate adaptive regression splines(MARS)assisted in correlating permeability and RQD along with the *** situ permeability shows a declining trend with increasing RQD,and the depth of investigation is within 50 *** type of relationship can be developed based on detailed initial investigations at the site where the hydraulic conductivity of discontinuous rocks is required to be *** relationship can approximate the permeability by only measuring the RQD in later investigations on the same site,thus saving the time and cost of the site *** applicability of the relationship developed in this study to another location requires a lithological similarity of the rock mass that can be verified through preliminary investigation at the site.

Metabolic complications of psychotropic medications in psychiatric disorders:Emerging role of de novo lipogenesis and therapeutic consideration

Although significant advances have been made in understanding the pathophysiology of psychiatric disorders(PDs),therapeutic advances have not been very *** psychotropic medications can reduce classical symptoms in patients with PDs,their long-term use has been reported to induce or exaggerate various pre-existing metabolic abnormalities including diabetes,obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).The mechanism(s)underlying these metabolic abnormalities is not clear;however,lipid/fatty acid accumulation due to enhanced de novo lipogenesis(DNL)has been shown to reduce membrane fluidity,increase oxidative stress and inflammation leading to the development of the aforementioned metabolic ***,emerging evidence suggest that DNL dysregulation and fatty acid accumulation could be the major mechanisms associated with the development of obesity,diabetes and NAFLD after long-term treatment with psychotropic medications in patients with *** support of this,several adjunctive drugs comprising of anti-oxidants and antiinflammatory agents,that are used in treating PDs in combination with psychotropic medications,have been shown to reduce insulin resistance and development of *** conclusion,the above evidence suggests that DNL could be a potential pathological factor associated with various metabolic abnormalities,and a new avenue for translational research and therapeutic drug designing in PDs.

Mixture temperature prediction of waxy oil–water two-phase system flowing near wax appearance temperature

Temperature sensitivity of waxy crude oils makes it difficult to study their flow behaviour in the presence of water especially near their wax appearance temperature （WAT）. In this study a method was proposed and implemented to mitigate such difficulties which was applied in predicting mixture temperatures （Tin） of a typical Malaysian waxy crude oil and water flow in a horizontal pipe. To this end, two analytical models were derived firstly from calorimetry equation which based on developed two correlations for defining crude oil heat capacity actualized from the existed specific heat capacities of crude oils. The models were then applied for a set of experiments to reach the defined three predetermined Tm （26 ℃, 28 ℃ and 30 ℃）. The comparison between the predicted mixture temperatures （Tin,1 and Tin,2） from the two models and the experimental results displayed acceptable absolute average errors （0.80% 0.62%, 0.53% for model 1; 0,74%, 0.54%, 0.52% for model 2）. Moreover, the average errors for both models are in the range of standard error limits （4-0,75Z） according to ASTM E230. Conclusively, the proposed model showed the ease of obtaining mixture temperatures close to WAT as predetermined with accuracy of ± 0.5 ℃approximately for over 84% of the examined cases. The method is seen as a practical reference point to further study the flow behaviour of waxy crudes in oil-water two-phase flow system near sensitive temperatures.

On biological population model of fractional order

In this paper, we extensively studied a mathematical model of biology. It helps us to understand the dynamical procedure of population changes in biological population model and provides valuable predictions. In this model, we establish a variety of exact solutions. To study the exact solutions, we used a fractional complex transform to convert the particular partial differential equation of fractional order into corresponding partial differential equation and modified exp-function method is implemented to investigate the nonlinear equation. Graphical demonstrations along with the numerical data reinforce the efficacy of the used procedure. The specified idea is very effective, unfailing, well-organized and pragmatic for fractional PDEs and could be protracted to further physical happenings.
