In this research, the Tirgan Formation in the south flank of Ghorogh Syncline (north of Chenaran), northeastern Iran with the thickness of 251 was studied. This section consists of limestone, marly limestone and shale with impressions of echinoderms toxasteridae family, many of foraminifera from orbitolinidae family and also lots of calcareous algae that create facies variation along with other non-skeletal allochems. Micropaleontological investigation has been carried out on 90 thin-sections. These criteria reveal that an equivalent of the Urgonian facies type (in France-Swiss area) and open marine, low depth sedimentary basin are extended in the Kopet-Dagh basin. In this article, we tried to introduce some of the important foraminiferal and calcareous algal assemblages of this area.

AIM To examine the outcome and prognostic factors for high risk patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma(ALL/LBL) who underwent allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(HCT) at our center during the period of2010-2017 METHODS After due institutional review board approval, patients with high risk ALL/LBL post HCT were identified and included. All records were retrospectively collected. Time to event analysis was calculated from the date of HCT until event of interest or last follow up with Kaplan-Meir means. Cox regression model was used for multivariable analysis *** A total of 69 patients were enrolled and examined with a median age of 21(14-61). After a median follow up of 15 mo(2-87.3), the 2-year cumulative incidence of relapse, cumulative incidence of non-relapse mortality, progression free survival and overall survival(OS) were 34.1%, 10.9%, 54.9% and 62.8%,respectively. In a multivariable analysis for OS; acute graft vs host disease(GVHD) and chronic GVHD were significant with corresponding hazard ratio 4.9(1.99-12; P = 0.0007) and 0.29(0.1-0.67; P = 0.0044), *** Allogeneic-HCT for high risk ALL/LBL resulted in promising remissions particularly for patients with cGVHD.

Introduction: Adequate information about patient using health care facilities is a critical element in planning activities and allocation resources in health sector. In Iran, with performing family physician plan and attempt to reform referral system, the study of mobility of patients between regions (patient migration) has more importance. The aims of the study are: 1) to describe patients’ migration across cities of Iranian Kerman province;2) to analyze the role of possible determinants affecting the mobility flows. Methodology: using hospital inpatient records of all public hospitals around Kerman province during 2011, we run logit models that compare patients who were admitted in hospital and received health services in cities where they lived and patients received them out of their local hospitals. We studied 21 patient groups according to ICD10 chapters (Appendix 1) to compute the effect of geographic distance, kind of insurance, number of physiccians involved, hospital bed and patient demographic factors. Results: About 40 percent of hospital admissions in Kerman are emigrant patients that quality or quantity of local provided services didn’t satisfy. Constant negative coefficients of geographic distance, hospitals physician and bed and positive coefficients for insurance in all groups do not show any difference in patient migration, between groups. Discussion: According to results of this research, existence of local services, distance, kind of illness and other factors are not more important than patients’ feeling about services in their migration. Paying no attention to this reality in planning health system reforms, especially referral systems, leads to important problems for health system in equity, patient satisfaction and finance aspects.

For decades, kidney diseases related to inappropriate complement activity, such as atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome and C3 glomerulopathy(a subtype of membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis), have mostly been complicated by worsened prognoses and rapid progression to end-stage renal failure. Alternative complement pathway dysregulation, whether congenital or acquired, is well-recognized as the main driver of the disease process in these patients. The list of triggers include: surgery, infection, immunologic factors, pregnancy and medications. The advent of complement activation blockade, however, revolutionized the clinical course and outcome of these diseases, rendering transplantation a viable option for patients who were previously considered as non-transplantable *** less-costly therapeutic lines and likely better efficacy and safety profiles are currently underway. In view of the challenging nature of diagnosing these diseases and the long-term cost implications, a multidisciplinary approach including the nephrologist, renal pathologist and the genetic laboratory is required to help improve overall care of these patients and draw the optimum therapeutic plan.

Understanding the relations and interactions between ecosystem components and plants is crucial for sustainable production of medicinal plants. To study the effect of simultaneous application of organic and biological fertilizers on yield and yield components of zucchini squash, split plot arrangement of factors based on randomized complete block design with three replications were used during 2009-2010 growing season. The mainplot factors were the type of organic fertilizers, including：（1） cow manure; （2） sheep manure; （3） chicken manure; （4） vermicompost; and （5） control. The subplot factors were the biofertilizes （Nitragin, containing Azotobacter sp., Azospirillum sp. and Pseudomonas sp.） utilization. The results showed the positive but non-significant effect of organic and biological fertilizers on yield and yield components of zucchini squash. Amongst the organic fertilizers, cow and chicken manure, have superiority compared to others. The highest seed oil and protein percent was obtained with application of chicken manure, however there was no significant difference between treatments in seed oil percent. The positive effect of organic and biological fertilizers on seed yield was higher than fruit yield. At a glance, application of cow manure solely was better than its application with nitragin. Nitragin application has no significant effect on some traits when utilized with sheep manure and vermicompost.

AIM To investigate the hemothorax size for which tube thoracostomy is *** Over a 5-year period, we included all patients who were admitted with blunt chest trauma to our level 1 trauma center. Focus was placed on identifying the hemothorax size requiring tube *** A total number of 274 hemothoraces were studied. All patients with hemothoraces measuring above 3 cm received a chest tube. The 50% predicted probability of tube thoracostomy was 2 cm. Pneumothorax was associated with odds of receiving tube thoracostomy for hemothoraces below 2 cm(Odds Ratio:4.967, 95%CI: 2.225-11.097, P < 0.0001).CONCLUSION All patients with a hemothorax size greater than 3% underwent tube thoracostomy. Prospective studies are warranted to elucidate the clinical outcome of patients with smaller hemothoraces.

Background: Cuscuta spp. known as dodders, have been used as traditional medicines in eastern and southern Asian countries for many disorders such as gastrointestinal, respiratory, endocrine, skin and neurological diseases (Drug of mania). Flavonoids are the main biologically active constituents in Cuscuta genus especially in C. chinensis. Our aim in this study was to identify and discriminate between C. chinensis samples which were collected from different hosts, by using the pattern recognition aided fingerprint analysis and comparison of the content of four major flavonoids (hyperoside, rutin, isorhamnetin, kaempferol). Material and methods: Samples were collected from nine different plants in the same time and place, dried, grinded and extracted with methanol (80%) by repeated maceration. Extractions were evaluated by high performance liquid chromatography analysis and fingerprinting. Results: Beside chromatographic fingerprint using similarity index, we compared the content of 4 major flavonoids (hyperoside, rutin, isorhamnetin, kaempferol) of C. chinensis samples on different hosts. Coclusion: The results showed that there were significant differences between the content of four major flavonoids of nine C. chinensis samples, but chromatographic fingerprint by similarity index of more than 0.88, showed that the sample consistency was similar. So, it was suggested that combination of chromatographic fingerprint and the content determination of major flavonoids could be used to evaluate the quality control of C. chinensis from different hosts.

QF-PCR as a molecular-based method for autosomal aneuploidies detection

Objectives: The currently available methods for rapid prenatal diagnosis of common chromosomal aneuploidies are either Interphase-Fluorescence in Situ Hybridisation (I-FISH) or Quanti- tative Fluorescent Polymerase Chain Reaction (QF-PCR). QF-PCR represents a rapid, high throughput, cost-effective alternative for Interphase-FISH. The objective of the study was to evaluate the performance of QF-PCR, as a molecular-based technique for the detection of chromosome 21, 18 and 13 copy numbers. Study design: A retrospective cohort of 163 samples referred for screening of common chromosomal aneuploidies was blindly tested for chromosome 21, 18 and 13 copy numbers using QF-PCR and the results were compared with those of conventional cytogenetic analysis. Results: QF-PCR demonstrated optimal sensitivity and specificity (100%) for non mosaic trisomies. QF-PCR was able to consistently detect maternal cell contamination and mosaic trisomies when the trisomic cell line was present at an adequate level (23% or more). However, QF-PCR was unable to detect chromosomal rearrangements for which the primers were not designed. Conclusion: QF- PCR proved its superior performance as a molecular-based method for autosomal aneuploidy detection concerning both sensitivity and specificity.

Analytical, Spectral, Thermal and Molecular Modeling Studies of Hg²⁺-2,3-Butanedionemonoxime Girard’s T Hydrazone Complex and Its Application

The coordination behavior of 2,3-butanedionemonoxime Girard’s T hydrazone (L1) towards Hg2+ ion has been investigated. The structure of Hg2+ complex, [Hg(L1)Cl]Cl·5H2O, is elucidated using elemental analyses, spectral (IR, UV-visible, 1H-NMR and mass) and TGA measurements. IR spectrum suggests that L1 behaves in a bidentate manner through the azomethine groups. The molecular modeling of L1 and its Hg2+ complex has been investigated. The bond lengths, bond angles, HOMO and LUMO have been calculated. The thermal behavior and kinetic parameters are determined using Coats-Redfern method. The use of L1 for preconcentration and separation via flotation of Hg2+ complex and determination using cold vapor atomic spectrometry (CVAAS) is described. The effects on the percentage of recovered Hg2+ by pH of sample solutions, oleic acid (HOL) concentration, Hg2+ and L1 concentrations are studied in details. The method is applied for the determination of the total Hg2+ (mg·mL-1) in natural water samples.
