Optimization of Solvent Systems for the Extraction of Vitexin as the Major Bioactive Flavonoid in <i>Prosopis farcta</i>

Prosopis farcta, a plant belongs to the mimosoideae, is characterized by a very wide spectrum of various bioactive and medical constituents. Vitexin, the marker flavonoid found in Prosopis, has potent and broad antitumour efficacy in preclinical models. Many studies had been done for the isolation of flavonoids (vitexin) by completely different chromatographically methodology. During this study, vitexin was isolated from Prosopis farcta by 6 different extraction methods in which parameters as the type, concentration and pH of the extracting solvents considered. Among different solvent systems used, methanol-water (40%, containing acetic acid 0.5%) was found to be the best solvent generating the highest yield (0.554 mg·g-1 DW) from Prosopis leaves. The present work suggests an efficient method for estimation the greatest content of vitexin analyzed by HPLC technique and introduces Prosopis farcta as a suitable source of this flavonoid with several pharmacological properties.

Recharging Sensor Nodes Using Implicit Actor Coordination in Wireless Sensor Actor Networks

Wireless sensor actor networks are composed of sensor and actor nodes wherein sensor nodes outnumber resource-rich actor nodes. Sensor nodes gather information and send them to a central node (sink) and/or to actors for proper actions. The short lifetime of energy-constrained sensor nodes can endanger the proper operation of the whole network when they run out of power and partition the network. Energy harvesting as well as minimizing sensor energy consumption had already been studied. We propose a different approach for recharging sensor nodes by mobile actor nodes that use only local information. Sensor nodes send their energy status along with their sensed information to actors in their coverage. Based on this energy information, actors coordinate implicitly to decide on the timings and the ordering of recharges of low energy sensor nodes. Coordination between actors is achieved by swarm intelligence and the replenishment continues during local learning of actor nodes. The number of actors required to keep up such networks is identified through simulation using VisualSense. It is shown that defining the appropriate number of actor nodes is critical to the success of recharging strategies in prolonging the network lifetime.

Postmiogypsinella intermedia Sirel and Gedik,2011 is reported for the first time from the shallow-marine limestones of the upper Chattian Qom Formation,Central *** miogypsinid species has so far only been recorded from the upper Oligocene of Malatya(type locality)and Sivas(Central Anatolia)in eastern Turkey and from the upper Oligocene of the Prebetic Domain,SE *** new record from Central Iran,paleobiogeographically located at the Eurasian margin of the Tethyan Seaway between the Western and Eastern Tethys realms,indicates that the paleogeographic distribution of this species has to be extended eastwards as far as Central *** observation is not unexpected,since miogypsinid foraminifers with eccentric embryonic-nepionic apparatus(e.g.,Miogypsinella,Miogypsinoides,Miogypsina)are usually widely *** accompanying larger benthic foraminifera,including Miogypsinoides complanatus(Schlumberger),Miogypsinoides formosensis Yabe and Hanzawa,Spiroclypeus margaritatus(Schlumberger),Operculina complanata(Defrance),and Risananeiza pustulosa Boukhary et al.,indicate the late Chattian age(corresponding to SBZ 23 Biozone).Postmiogypsinella intermedia is indicative of a shallow-marine middle ramp environment with oligotrophic conditions and inhabited the relatively deeper part of the photic zone.

The lower Cretaceous rock units of the Koppeh-Dagh Basin of northeastern Iran were investigated here in terms of biostratigraphy,depositional setting and geochemical analyses to find out if they,alike other parts of the world,are rich in *** this purpose,a stratigraphic framework is established using calcareous nannofossil and palynological elements.A nannoplankton zonation based on which subzones of the zones CC7–CC8 of Sissingh(1977)and their equivalent NC6–NC8 of Roth(1978)was established indicating a Late Barremian–Albian *** assemblages led us to establish the local palynozone of Odontochitina operculata.A dominantly marginal basin to a transitional zone between shelf and basin under a dysoxic–anoxic condition with low to moderate sedimentation rates coincided with a gradual sea level rise was introduced as the environment of deposition for the strata via interpretation of the palynological parameters and quantitative *** obtained data from Rock-Eval pyrolysis in compilation with palynofacies analysis reveals that the studied succession contains mainly gas-prone type III *** Spore Coloration Index(SCI)alongside with the Rock-Eval pyrolysis results(low values of HI and TOC)proves that these rock units locally produced natural gas during the time under consideration.

A Study of the Relationship between Landslide and Active Tectonic Zones: A Case Study in Karaj Watershed Management

This research shows a noticeable comparison between slide zones produced with the results using the Nilsen method with active tectonic hazard zonation map. A determination landform of geometry or morphometry factors is one of the best methods for study and evaluation active tectonics. The first image provided is a Dem maps from GIS software showing topography, geology and tectonic maps participant with field activities. The second image provided shows an active tectonic map also generated by the same above mentioned factors into three classes A, B, C, D and a landslide hazard zonation map which shows five classes: Stable zone, generally stable zone, stable moderately stable zone, moderately stable zone and talented to liquefaction zone. The study and comparison and conformity landslide hazard zonation map with hazard zonations into active tectonic hazard zonation map showed about 79 percent (56,880 hectare) moderately unstable zone and talented for liquefaction zone settled in A zone (very high tectonic activity) and B zone (high tectonic activity) active tectonic map and 21 percent (15,130 hectare) remain unsettled sequential 12 percent (8640 hectare) and 9 percent (6480 hectare) in C (moderate tectonic activity), D (lowest tectonic activity) zone of active tectonic hazard zonation produced from above mentioned factors. This research showed a relationship between slide zones produced in landslide hazard zonations using the Nilsen method to measure active tectonic hazard zonation in the study region.

For tunnels being excavated through multiple knowledge of the aquifers’hydraulic head becomes essential for determining groundwater inflow into the tunnel and analyzing its stability,specifically using multilevel monitoring *** the multi-aquifer alluvial section of the Glas tunnel(Iran),since the hydraulic head calculations were based on the data obtained from single-piezometer boreholes,the excavation risk was assessed to be at high level and the tunnel seemed to be unstable,thus an incorrect conclusion was derived from the misleading *** take cost mitigation measures into account,it was necessary to calculate the hydraulic head at tunnel level *** installing nested and clustered wells the mean hydraulic head was measured to be 70 m,significantly different from the 90 m previously determined by *** the updated value,the groundwater inflow and bulkhead load,formerly calculated as 0.65 m^(3)/s and 9.5 bars,were determined to be 0.49 m^(3)/s and 7.5 bars,respectively.

We study dynamic and structure of nano-droplets of AOT/water/oil microemulsion with different oils at water/AOT molar ratio of 6.7. Photon correlation spectroscopy is used to study collective diffusion coefficient of nano-droplets at AOT microemulsion with decane and cyclohexane. The collective diffusion coefficient of nanodroples is increasing with change of oil from decane to cyclohexane. The structure of AOT microemulsion with decane and cyclohexane is founded with SAXS. Our results show, nano-droplets of AOT microemulsion with decane at X = 6.7 have cylindrical structure and AOT microemulsion with cyclohexane at X = 6.7 have spherical structure.

Objective:Growing problem of antibiotic resistance in Helicobacter pylori,as a common cause of chronic gastritis and even stomach cancer,demands searching for novel candidates of herbal *** study is aimed at assessing the antimicrobial activity of aqueous extract obtained from Quercus brantii *** seed coat(Testa)on *** isolated from gastric biopsy ***:Such specimens were collected from 100 patients presenting with endoscopic gastroduodenal *** extracts were prepared from Persian Oak forests in the province of Kohgiluyeh and BoyerAhmad,*** isolates were obtained by a series of standard bacteriology tests and cell culture,then were confirmed by *** activity of testa extracts towards 25 *** isolates was assessed by well diffusion method,microdilution assay,and a disk diffusion assay in *** were analyzed statistically by one-way ANOVA ***:Aqueous extract of testa demonstrated an antimicrobial activity with zone diameters of inhibition ranged from 0 mm to 40 *** inhibitory activity increased simultaneously with increasing extract *** lowest MIC and MBC were both recorded as 2μg/m *** activity of testa extract was approximately close to tetracycline and metronidazole and less than amoxicillin.A potent extract of testa possessed significant inhibitory activity(P<0.05).Conclusion:Testa extract is suggested as a natural therapeutic source against the gastric *** ***,evaluating the in vivo activity of this extract is necessary too.
