Background: Phys.cal inactivity is.a major public health problem worldwide that res.lts.in phys.cal and mental health problems. One major is.ue for phys.cal inactivity is.weight s.igma (Ws., es.ecially perceived Ws. which could lead to a tendency to avoid phys.cal activity (PA). To better unders.and the as.ociation between perceived Ws.and PA, knowledge of the likely mediators.in this.as.ociation s.ch as.weight bias.internalization (WBI) and ps.chological dis.res. were inves.igated in the pres.nt s.udy. Methods. Us.ng a two-wave longitudinal s.udy and convenient s.mpling, 388 Taiwanes. participants.(55% females. mean age = 29.7 years.[s. ± 6.3]) completed two s.rveys.s.x months.apart. Body mas. index (BMI), Perceived Weight s.igma s.ale (PWs.), Weight Bias.Internalization s.ale (WBIs., Depres.ion, Anxiety, s.res. s.ale (DAs.-21), and Tendency to Avoid Phys.cal Activity and s.ort s.ale (TAPAs. were as.es.ed. Res.lts. A mediation model controlling for age, gender, and BMI with 5000 boots.rapping res.mples.was.performed. Perceived Ws.exerted s.gnificant direct effects.on WBI (β = 0.25; p s.chological dis.res. (β = 0.15; p = 0.003), and tendency to avoid PA (β =0.10;p = 0.027); WBI exerted a s.gnificant direct effect on tendency to avoid PA (β = 0.47; p s.andardized indirect effects.of WBI and ps.chological dis.res. on the as.ociation between perceived Ws.and tendency to avoid PA were 0.12 and 0.01, res.ectively. Conclus.on: Given the direct as.ociation of perceived Ws.on the tendency to avoid PA and the mediating role of WBI in this.as.ociation, interventions.addres.ing perceived Ws.and WBI may contribute to promoting PA. Therefore, health interventionis.s.(both when planning and executing PA programs. need to cons.der weight s.igmawhen encouraging phys.cal activity. © 2024 The Authors.

Purpos.: To s.udy the effect of es.alating radiation dos.;in intermediate and high ris. pros.ate cancer patients.via online image-guidance on acute toxicities. Patients.and Methods. thirty-eight pros.ate cancer patients.were treated by us.ng s.multaneous.integrated boos.-intens.ty modulated radiation therapy (s.B-IMRT) with online image guided correction via kilo voltage cone beam computed tomography (KV-CBCT)/electronic portal imaging device (EPID) of trans.rectal ultras.und (TRUs.-ins.rted intrapros.atic gold fiduciary markers. High-ris. patients.received a median dos. of 80.5 Gy to pros.ate and 56 Gy to pelvic nodes.in 35 fractions.over 7 weeks. Intermediate-ris. patients.received a s.milar pros.ate dos. over the s.me overall treatment time. Acute toxicity (bladder, rectal and bowel s.mptoms. was.reported once weekly during the radiation cours. and up to 3 months.from the end of the radiation cours.. Res.lts. The image guided (IG)-IMRT allows.es.alating the radiation dos. delivered to the pros.ate through minimizing the margin of s.tup error to les. than 0.5 cm with s.bs.quent s.aring of nearby organs.at ris.. Out of thirty-eight patients. no patient developed >grade 1 acute rectal toxicity, 7.9% of patients.experienced grade 3 urinary toxicity and there was.no reported s.all intes.inal toxicity. Conclus.on: Es.alating the radiation dos. more than 80 Gy in intermediate and high ris. pros.ate cancer patients.was.s.fe and not as.ociated with grade 3 - 4 RTOG toxicity when guided by online verification of intra-pros.atic fiducial markers.

Objectives. Chronic rhinos.nus.tis.is.one of the common dis.as.s.that caus. morbidity and affects.a pers.n''s.quality of life. We tried to provide a more appropriate and effective approach to s.lecting patients.for endos.opic s.nus.***: The s.udy population is.chronic rhinos.nus.tis.children referred to the ear, nos., and throat clinic of two general hos.itals.in Tehran, Iran, who have previous.y undergone s.fficient drug treatment and have not recovered. The Lund–Mackay s.ore is.calculated by examining the computed tomography (CT) s.an. The s.no-nas.l Outcome Tes.-22 (s.OT-22) ques.ionnaire was.provided to the patients.before the operation, after the operation, and 3 and 6 months.later in the ***: Before the operation, the mos. s.OT-22 s.ore people were in the range of 40–59 points. The s.OT-22 s.ore before the operation is.s.gnificantly different from 3 and 6 months.after the operation. The highes. frequency of Lund–Mackay CT (LMCT) s.an s.ore was.in the range of 18–23 points. The LMCT s.an s.ore did not s.ow any s.gnificant relations.ip with the s.OT-22 s.ore before s.rgery, 3 months. and 6 months.after s.rgery. s.ns.tivity to as.irin had a s.gnificant relations.ip with s.OT-22 s.ores.and the his.ory of as.hma and nas.l polyps.had a s.gnificant relations.ip with the preoperative LMCT s.an ***: The LMCT s.an s.oring s.s.em cannot be a good meas.re of chronic rhinos.nus.tis.s.verity or the prognos.s.of patients.after s.rgery. The s.OT-22 ques.ionnaire can be us.d as.a predictive tool to help the doctor and the patient in deciding to operate and the pos.ibility of obtaining a relative recovery.

Cons.ructing the efficacious.and applicable bifunctional electrocatalys.s.and es.ablis.ing out the mechanis.s.of organic electro-oxidation by replacing anodic oxygen evolution reaction(OER) are critical to the development of electrochemicallydriven technologies.for efficient hydrogen production and avoid CO_(2) emis.ion. Herein, the hetero-nanocrys.als.between monodis.ers.d Pt(~ 2 nm) and Ni_(3)s.(2)(~ 9.6 nm) are cons.ructed as.active electrocatalys.s.through interfacial electronic modulation, which exhibit s.perior bi-functional activities.for methanol s.lective oxidation and H_(2) generation. The experimental and theoretical s.udies.reveal that the as.mmetrical charge dis.ribution at Pt–Ni_(3)s.(2) could be modulated by the electronic interaction at the interface of dual-monodis.ers.d heterojunctions. which thus.promote the ads.rption/des.rption of the chemical intermediates.at the interface. As.a res.lt, the s.lective convers.on from CH_(3)OH to formate is.accomplis.ed at very low potentials.1.45 V) to attain 100 m A cm^(-2) with high electronic utilization rate(~ 98%) and without CO_(2) emis.ion. Meanwhile, the Pt–Ni_(3)s.(2) can s.multaneous.y exhibit a broad potential window with outs.anding s.ability and large current dens.ties.for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) at the cathode. Further, the excellent bi-functional performance is.als. indicated in the coupled methanol oxidation reaction(MOR)//HER reactor by only requiring a cell voltage of 1.60 V to achieve a current dens.ty of 50 m A cm^(-2) with good reus.bility.
