Study and Analysis of Obstacles and Challenges Facing Ship-Repair Industry in Iran

Nowadays, shipping industry which is the backbone of economic development has affiliated to ship maintenance and repair industry. This industry provides technical maintenance services to ships in a way to enable them to meet the requirements and regulations of the International Maritime Organization and maintaining the vessels at high technical standard & continual seaworthiness condition. Maintaining the minimum requirement of classification societies on the ships is solely taken place with repairs. The research method is an applied study in sake of aim and a descriptive study in sake of nature. This research has been conducted to examine causes and factors contributed to failures repairing in dry docks in the country;using the obtained results, an approach has been presented to reduce obstacles existing in country and reach to standard international levels. The problems include lack of suitable strategy, lack of government support, governmental facet of the structure of this sector, cumbersome laws, customs problems, lack of specialized workshops, low levels of technology and lack of new technology etc. Thus, by taking amendment to the cumbersome rules, taking advantage of industry and modern technology experts, increasing productivity and competitiveness, centralizing active domestic and foreign workshops at private sector, facilitating timely supply of parts and accessories, using research and development sector, increasing quality, reducing costs and repair time, selecting secure industrial- trade partner and etc. can pave the way in this context.

Line-start permanent magnet synchronous motors versus induction motors： A comparative study

Line-start permanent magnet synchronous motors are suitable candidates for substitution of induction motors in many constant-speed applications. This paper compares steady-state and dynamic performances of these motors. The efficiency, power factor, stator currents, and rotor bars currents are considered for steady-state perfor- mance analysis whereas the rotor speed, electromagnetic torque, and stator and rotor currents are investigated for dynamic performance analysis. For this purpose, time stepping finite element method is used to analyze the performance of motors in both full-load and no-load conditions. Results demonstrate the superior performance of the line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor in steady-state condition and the improved dynamic perfor-mance of the induction motor. Finally, economic calcula- tions indicate that the extra cost of the line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor with respect to the induction motor is rapidly compensated by energy saving due to a more efficient operation.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases, and its prevalence continues to increase globally. The impact of mitochondrial dysfunction and lipid metabolism on diabetes mellitus and insulin resistance (IR) has been implicated in several previous reports; however, the results of studies are confusing despite four decades of study. This review has evaluated updated understanding of the role of mitochondrial dysfunction and lipid metabolism on type 2 diabetes, and found that mitochondrial dysfunction and lipid metabolism disorder induce the dysregulation of liver and pancreatic beta cells, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes. Mitochondrial dysfunction and lipid metabolism induce metabolic dysregulation and finally increasing the possibility of diabetes.

＜正＞ SINGLE-PHASE Induction Motors （SPIMs） are being increasingly used in applications with variable speed requirement. A reliable motor speed signal is usually needed for speed control and advanced torque control in such applications. The use of a mechanical sensor for speed measurement is not a wise option because of its high cost relative to the motor *** this paper a speed estimation method is proposed for SPIMs using the rotor voltage vector defined in the complex domain. The estimated speed signal is then used in a novel sensorless vector control SPIM drive. Extensive simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed control system.
