Production,characterization and biological activities of acidic exopolysaccharide from marine Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 3Ms 2017

Objective: To evaluate in-vitro antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antitumor abilities against human breast adenocarcinoma(MCF7) and human prostate cancer(PC3) as well as the suppressor effect of bacterial exopolysaccharide(BAEPs) on Ehrlich ascites carcinoma(EAC). Methods: In-vitro antioxidants characters of BAEPs were determined using various methods, while anti-inflammatory activity was estimated against cyclooxygenase(COX-1 and COX-2). In-vitro study, anticancer against MCF7 and PC3 were assessed by the mitochondrial dependent reduction of yellow MTT. In in-vivo study against EAC progression, mice were inoculated with EAC cells and then were orally administered BAEPs at 200 mg/kg after 24 h(equals to 0.10 of determined LD50)/10 d. Results: BAEPs was acidic exopolysaccharide contained uronic acid(12.3%) and sulfate(22.8%) with constitution of glucose, galactose and glucuronic acid in a molar ratio1.6: 1.0: 0.9, respectively, with a molecular mass of 3.76伊104 g/mol. BAEPs appeared potent antioxidant characters as free radical scavenging, oxygen reactive species scavenging and metal chelation, while its reducing power was low. BAEPs showed selective anti-inflammatory activity against COX-2 than COX-1, COX-2 selective. BAEPs exhibited potent and selective effect to breast cell cancer MCF7, the death percentage was 65.20% with IC_(50)=70 μg/m L and IC_(90)=127.40 μg/m L. BAEPs decreased counted viable EAC cells and induced non-viable cells. BAEPs improved all assessed hematological parameters. These improvements were reflected in the increasing median survival time and significant increment(Pspan. Conclusions: BAEPs has anti-tumor activity with a good margin of safety. The anti-tumor activity of BAEPs may be due to its content from sulfated groups and uronic acids and they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

The relationship between tradition and modernity significantly influences society,culture,and architectural discourse.This philosophy offers a framework for exploring the impact of traditional architecture on contemporary Iranian architecture from different perspectives and approaches.Various viewpoints exist on whether historical architecture can be a defining characteristic of contemporary architectural discourse.Through an in-depth review of analysis-centred architectural literature,a unique method was chosen for analysing contemporary architecture and gaining insight into its creation.The main goal of this study is to establish a productive relationship between past-oriented architecture,innovative architectural concepts,and contemporary thought.This article examines three critical viewpoints,tradition as imitation,transmission,and transformation,alongside analysing their influential components on architectural form to gain insight into productively connecting with historical achievements and show that the role of history is to add new values to architecture-conscious needs that have changed during history.Ultimately,the challenge lies in finding a suitable path among diverse perspectives and reinterpretations and establishing a productive relationship with history and contemporary thought.

Quantification of grain boundary effects on the geometrically necessary dislocation density evolution and strain hardening of polycrystalline Mg-4Al using in situ tensile testing in scanning electron microscope and HR-EBsD

In situ tensile testing in a scanning electron microscope(sEM) in conjunction with high-resolution electron backscatter diffraction(HR-EBsD) under load was used to characterize the evolution of geometrically necessary dislocation(GND) densities at individual grain boundaries as a function of applied strain in a polycrystalline Mg-4Al alloy. The increase in GND density was investigated at plastic strains of 0 %,0.6 %, 2.2 %, 3.3 % from the area including 76 grains and correlated with(i) geometric compatibility between slip systems across grain boundaries, and(ii) plastic incompatibility. We develop expressions for the grain boundary GND density evolution as a function of plastic strain and plastic incompatibility, from which uniaxial tensile stress-strain response of polycrystalline Mg-4Al are computed and compared with experimental measurement. The findings in this study contribute to understanding the mechanisms governing the strain hardening response of single-phase polycrystalline alloys and more reliable prediction of mechanical behaviors in diverse microstructures.

采用十二烷基硫酸钠(sDs)表面活性剂和siO_(2)纳米颗粒作为发泡体系,在不同原油沥青质含量下进行泡沫稳定性实验,测量CO_(2)泡沫半衰期;采用扫描电子显微图像、紫外分光光度法测试和Zeta电位测量,分析沥青质降低CO_(2)泡沫稳定性的机理。研究表明:当合成油与发泡体系质量比为1∶9时,合成油沥青质质量分数从0增至15%,sDs稳定泡沫半衰期从751 s减少至239 s,sDs-siO_(2)稳定泡沫半衰期从912 s缩短至298 s;当合成油与发泡体系质量比为2∶8时,随着沥青质质量分数增大,sDs稳定泡沫半衰期从526 s缩短至171 s,sDs-siO_(2)稳定泡沫半衰期从660 s缩短至205 s。由于沥青质与sDs和siO_(2)纳米颗粒在水相中的相互作用,Zeta电位绝对值减小,颗粒表面电荷降低,导致薄液膜两侧界面之间的排斥力减小,从而破坏泡沫稳定性。

RPL-Based IoT Networks under Decreased Rank Attack:Performance Analysis in static and Mobile Environments

The RPL(IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Networks)protocol is essential for efficient communi-cation within the Internet of Things(IoT)ecosystem.Despite its significance,RPL’s susceptibility to attacks remains a concern.This paper presents a comprehensive simulation-based analysis of the RPL protocol’s vulnerability to the decreased rank attack in both static andmobilenetwork environments.We employ the Random Direction Mobility Model(RDM)for mobile scenarios within the Cooja simulator.Our systematic evaluation focuses on critical performance metrics,including Packet Delivery Ratio(PDR),Average End to End Delay(AE2ED),throughput,Expected Transmission Count(ETX),and Average Power Consumption(APC).Our findings illuminate the disruptive impact of this attack on the routing hierarchy,resulting in decreased PDR and throughput,increased AE2ED,ETX,and APC.These results underscore the urgent need for robust security measures to protect RPL-based IoT networks.Furthermore,our study emphasizes the exacerbated impact of the attack in mobile scenarios,highlighting the evolving security requirements of IoT networks.

In the cloud environment,ensuring a high level of data security is in high demand.Data planning storage optimization is part of the whole security process in the cloud environment.It enables data security by avoiding the risk of data loss and data overlapping.The development of data flow scheduling approaches in the cloud environment taking security parameters into account is insufficient.In our work,we propose a data scheduling model for the cloud environment.Themodel is made up of three parts that together help dispatch user data flow to the appropriate cloudVMs.The first component is the Collector Agent whichmust periodically collect information on the state of the network links.The second one is the monitoring agent which must then analyze,classify,and make a decision on the state of the link and finally transmit this information to the scheduler.The third one is the scheduler who must consider previous information to transfer user data,including fair distribution and reliable paths.It should be noted that each part of the proposedmodel requires the development of its algorithms.In this article,we are interested in the development of data transfer algorithms,including fairness distribution with the consideration of a stable link state.These algorithms are based on the grouping of transmitted files and the iterative method.The proposed algorithms showthe performances to obtain an approximate solution to the studied problem which is an NP-hard(Non-Polynomial solution)problem.The experimental results show that the best algorithm is the half-grouped minimum excluding(HME),with a percentage of 91.3%,an average deviation of 0.042,and an execution time of 0.001 s.

Constructing the efficacious and applicable bifunctional electrocatalysts and establishing out the mechanisms of organic electro-oxidation by replacing anodic oxygen evolution reaction(OER) are critical to the development of electrochemicallydriven technologies for efficient hydrogen production and avoid CO_(2) emission. Herein, the hetero-nanocrystals between monodispersed Pt(~ 2 nm) and Ni_(3)s_(2)(~ 9.6 nm) are constructed as active electrocatalysts through interfacial electronic modulation, which exhibit superior bi-functional activities for methanol selective oxidation and H_(2) generation. The experimental and theoretical studies reveal that the asymmetrical charge distribution at Pt–Ni_(3)s_(2) could be modulated by the electronic interaction at the interface of dual-monodispersed heterojunctions, which thus promote the adsorption/desorption of the chemical intermediates at the interface. As a result, the selective conversion from CH_(3)OH to formate is accomplished at very low potentials(1.45 V) to attain 100 m A cm^(-2) with high electronic utilization rate(~ 98%) and without CO_(2) emission. Meanwhile, the Pt–Ni_(3)s_(2) can simultaneously exhibit a broad potential window with outstanding stability and large current densities for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) at the cathode. Further, the excellent bi-functional performance is also indicated in the coupled methanol oxidation reaction(MOR)//HER reactor by only requiring a cell voltage of 1.60 V to achieve a current density of 50 m A cm^(-2) with good reusability.

Country-based modelling of COVID-19 case fatality rate:A multiple regression analysis

BACKGROUND The spread of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 outbreak worldwide has caused concern regarding the mortality rate caused by the infection.The determinants of mortality on a global scale cannot be fully understood due to lack of information.AIM To identify key factors that may explain the variability in case lethality across countries.METHODs We identified 21 Potential risk factors for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)case fatality rate for all the countries with available data.We examined univariate relationships of each variable with case fatality rate(CFR),and all independent variables to identify candidate variables for our final multiple model.Multiple regression analysis technique was used to assess the strength of relationship.REsULTs The mean of COVID-19 mortality was 1.52±1.72%.There was a statistically significant inverse correlation between health expenditure,and number of computed tomography scanners per 1 million with CFR,and significant direct correlation was found between literacy,and air pollution with CFR.This final model can predict approximately 97%of the changes in CFR.CONCLUsION The current study recommends some new predictors explaining affect mortality rate.Thus,it could help decision-makers develop health policies to fight COVID-19.

Parallel Inference for Real-Time Machine Learning Applications

Hyperparameter tuning is a key step in developing high-performing machine learning models, but searching large hyperparameter spaces requires extensive computation using standard sequential methods. This work analyzes the performance gains from parallel versus sequential hyperparameter optimization. Using scikit-learn’s Randomized searchCV, this project tuned a Random Forest classifier for fake news detection via randomized grid search. setting n_jobs to -1 enabled full parallelization across CPU cores. Results show the parallel implementation achieved over 5× faster CPU times and 3× faster total run times compared to sequential tuning. However, test accuracy slightly dropped from 99.26% sequentially to 99.15% with parallelism, indicating a trade-off between evaluation efficiency and model performance. still, the significant computational gains allow more extensive hyperparameter exploration within reasonable timeframes, outweighing the small accuracy decrease. Further analysis could better quantify this trade-off across different models, tuning techniques, tasks, and hardware.

Childhood asthma biomarkers including zinc: An exploratory crosssectional study

BACKGROUND Childhood bronchial asthma(BA)is a chronic inflammatory respiratory disease.Nutritional conditions,including zinc deficiency,can affect such allergic disorders.AIM To outline the difference in serum zinc levels between asthmatic children and healthy controls.METHODs A cross-sectional study was carried out at Children’s Hospital,Cairo University,investigating serum zinc levels in children with BA(n=40)and healthy children(n=21).Other markers included serum ferritin,iron,hemoglobin(Hb),and immunoglobulin E(IgE)levels.Independent t-tests and Mann-Whinny tests were used for comparisons.The Kruskal-Wallis test was applied to compare serum ferritin and IgE levels with regard to asthma severity.spearman's rank correlation was performed to explore the relationship between serum ferritin levels and both iron and Hb levels in asthmatic children.REsULTs Children with BA had higher levels of zinc,yet the difference was not significant(P=0.115).serum ferritin and IgE levels were significantly higher in asthmatic children(P=0.006 and 0.001,respectively),yet their levels did not differ significantly by severity(P=0.623 and 0.126,respectively).There was a nonsignificant weak correlation between serum ferritin levels and both serum iron and Hb levels.CONCLUsION serum zinc levels do not seem to differ between asthmatic children and healthy children.serum ferritin levels may be a marker of asthma control.serum IgE levels are not markers of asthma severity.
