This paper presents the design and implementation of Adaptive Generalized Dynamic Inversion(AGDI)to track the position of a Linear Flexible Joint Cart(LFJC)system along with vibration suppression of the flexible *** proposed AGDI control law will be comprised of two control *** baseline(continuous)control law is based on principle of conventional GDI approach and is established by prescribing the constraint dynamics of controlled state variables that reflect the control *** control law is realized by inverting the prescribed dynamics using dynamically scaledMoore-Penrose generalized *** boost the robust attributes against system nonlinearities,parametric uncertainties and external perturbations,a discontinuous control law will be augmented which is based on the concept of sliding mode *** discontinuous control law,the sliding mode gain is made adaptive in order to achieve improved tracking performance and chattering *** closed-loop stability of resultant control law is established by introducing a positive define Lyapunov candidate function such that semi-global asymptotic attitude tracking of LFJC system is *** computer simulations followed by experimental investigation will be performed on Quanser’s LFJC system to authenticate the feasibility of proposed control approach for its application to real world problems.

Machine learning(ML)is increasingly applied for medical image processing with appropriate learning *** applications include analyzing images of various organs,such as the brain,lung,eye,etc.,to identify specific flaws/diseases for *** primary concern of ML applications is the precise selection of flexible image features for pattern detection and region *** of the extracted image features are irrelevant and lead to an increase in computation ***,this article uses an analytical learning paradigm to design a Congruent Feature Selection Method to select the most relevant image *** process trains the learning paradigm using similarity and correlation-based features over different textural intensities and pixel *** similarity between the pixels over the various distribution patterns with high indexes is recommended for disease ***,the correlation based on intensity and distribution is analyzed to improve the feature selection ***,the more congruent pixels are sorted in the descending order of the selection,which identifies better regions than the ***,the learning paradigm is trained using intensity and region-based similarity to maximize the chances of ***,the probability of feature selection,regardless of the textures and medical image patterns,is *** process enhances the performance of ML applications for different medical image *** proposed method improves the accuracy,precision,and training rate by 13.19%,10.69%,and 11.06%,respectively,compared to other models for the selected *** mean error and selection time is also reduced by 12.56%and 13.56%,respectively,compared to the same models and dataset.

Structural stability improvement, Williamson Hall analysis and band-gap tailoring through A-site Sr doping in rare earth based double perovskite La2NiMnO6

The structural,morphological and optical properties of single-phase polycrystalline La2-xSrxNiMnO6(x=0,0.3 and 0.5),synthesized by solid state reaction were *** samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)/energy dispersive analysis of X-rays(EDAX),Raman spectroscopy and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(DRS)to elucidate the role of A-site Sr-doping in double perovskite La2 *** analysis of XRD patterns revealed that all the samples have monoclinic structure with space group P21/*** gradient in the Williamson Hall plots revealed the presence of tensile strain in all the *** morphological studies revealed that average grain size increases along with appreciable decrease in porosity with Sr *** Ni/Mn antisite disorder was introduced in the La2 NiMnO6 by Sr-doping confirmed by an increase in the full width at half maximum(FWHM)and decrease in intensity of the Raman modes at around 540 and 665 cm-1 which correspond to the antisymmetric stretching and symmetric stretching modes,*** results reveal that the band gap in La2 NiMnO6 can be tuned down by Sr-doping to a value of1.37 eV(very close to 1.40 eV,considered as optimum value for better efficiency of a solar cell).Thus,Sr-doped La2 NiMnO6 may be of prime importance for applications in solar cells.

Development and Implementation of a Technique for Norms-Adaptable Agents in Open Multi-Agent Communities

In open normative multi-agent communities,an agent is not usually and explicitly given the norms of the host ***,when it is not able to adapt the communities's norms,it is totally deprived of accessing resources and services from the *** circumstance severely affects its performance resulting in failure to achieve its ***,this study attempts to overcome this deficiency by proposing a technique that enables an agent to detect the host's potential norms via self-enforcement and update its norms even in the absence of sanctions from a *** authors called this technique as the potential norms detection technique(PNDT).The PNDT consists of five components: Agent's belief base; observation process; potential norms mining algorithm(PNMA);verification process; and updating *** authors demonstrate the operation of the PNMA algorithm by testing it on a typical scenario and analyzing the results on several *** tests' results show that the PNDT performs satisfactorily albeit the success rate depends on the environment variables settings.

Optimizing PID controller parameters for robust automatic voltage regulator system through indirect design approach-2

Automatic voltage regulators(AVR)are designed to manipulate a synchronous generator’s voltage level *** integral derivative(PID)controllers are typically used in AVR systems to regulate *** advanced PID tuning methods have been proposed,the actual voltage response differs from the theoretical predictions due to modeling errors and system *** requires continuous fine tuning of the PID ***,manual adjustment of these parameters can compromise the stability and robustness of the AVR *** study focuses on the online self-tuning of PID controllers called indirect design approach-2(IDA-2)in AVR systems while preserving *** particular,we indirectly tune the PID controller by shifting the frequency *** new PID parameters depend on the frequency-shifting constant and the previously optimized PID *** the frequency-shifting constant modifies all the PID parameters simultaneously,thereby improving the control performance and *** evaluate the robustness of the proposed online PID tuning method by comparing the gain margins(GMs)and phase margins(PMs)with previously optimized PID parameters during parameter *** proposed method is further evaluated in terms of disturbance rejection,measurement noise,and frequency response analysis during parameter uncertainty calculations against existing *** show that the proposed method significantly improves the robustness of the controller in the AVR *** summary,online self-tuning enables automated PID parameter adjustment in an AVR system,while maintaining stability and robustness.

A novel method for locating the source of sustained oscillation in power system using synchrophasors data

Large interconnected power systems are usually subjected to natural oscillation(NO)and forced oscillation(FO).NO occurs due to system transient response and is characterized by several oscillation modes,while FO occurs due to external perturbations driving generation *** to NO,FO is considered a more severe threat to the safe and reliable operation of power ***,it is important to locate the source of FO so corrective actions can be taken to ensure stable power system *** this paper,a novel approach based on two-step signal processing is proposed to characterize FO in terms of its frequency components,duration,nature,and the location of the *** recorded by the Phasor Measurement Units(PMUs)in a Wide Area Monitoring System(WAMS)is utilized for *** PMU data usually contains white noise and appears as multi-frequency oscillatory signal,the first step is to de-noise the raw PMU data by decomposing it into a series of intrinsic mode functions(IMF)using Improved Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition with Adaptive Noise(ICEEMDAN)*** most appropriate IMF containing the vital information is selected using the correlation *** second step involves various signal processing and statistical analysis tools such as segmented Power Spectrum Density(PSD),excess kurtosis,cross PSD *** achieve the desired *** analysis performed on the simulated two-area four-machine system,reduced WECC-179 bus 29 machine system,and the real-time power system PMU data set from ISO New England,demonstrates the accuracy of the proposed *** proposed approach is independent of complex network topologies and their characteristics,and is also robust against measurement noise usually contained in PMU data.

Rasch Model Assessment for Bloom Digital Taxonomy Applications

Assessment using Bloom’s taxonomy levels has evolved in a variety of contexts and *** the era of the COVID-19 pandemic,which necessitates use of online assessment,the need for teachers to use digital-based taxonomy skills or Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy(BDT)has increased even ***,the existing studies on validity and reliability of BDT items are *** overcome this limitation,this study aims to test whether BDT has good psychometric characteristics as a teacher’s self-assessment tool using the Rasch model analysis and to investigate the pattern of BDT usage in teaching and *** using a quantitative online survey design,this study involves six levels of BDT,namely,Remembering,Understanding,Applying,Analyzing,Evaluating,and *** questionnaire was developed and validated by two experts prior to administration.A stratified random sampling technique was conducted on 774 secondary teachers from five geographical zones in Malaysia,and the Rasch model was analyzed using WINSTEPS 3.71 *** performances of items improved by Rasch psychometric assessment including the application of BDT among *** hierarchy level was also assessed through graphical analysis,including the Wright map and bubble chart,to demonstrate the powerful performance of the Rasch model analysis in investigating item quality and ***,these empirically validated items using the Rasch model could advance the academic knowledge of BDT for future assessment and promote the Rasch calibration in an educational setting.
