BACKGROUND Coronary artery perforation is a rare but potentially life-threatening complication of percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI),however if recognized and managed promptly,its adverse consequences can be *** factors include the use of advanced PCI technique(such as atherectomy and chronic total occlusion interventions)and treatment of severely calcified *** vessel perforation is usually treated with implantation of a covered stent,whereas distal and collateral vessel perforations are usually treated with embolization of coils,fat,thrombin,or *** describe a novel and cost-effective method of embolisation using a cut remnant of a used angioplasty balloon that was successful in sealing a distal wire *** advocate this method as a simple method of managing distal vessel *** SUMMARY A 73-year-old male with previous coronary Bypass graft operation and recurrent angina on minimal exertion had undergone rotablation and PCI to his dominant left *** the end of the procedure there was evidence of wire perforation at the distal branch and despite prolonged balloon tamponade there continued to be extravasation and the decision was made to seal this perforation.A cut piece of an angioplasty balloon was used and delivered on the original angioplasty wire to before the perforation area and released which resulted in sealing of the perforation with no unwanted clinical *** The use of a balloon remnant for embolization in coronary perforation presents a simple,efficient and cost-effective method for managing coronary perforations and may be an alternative for achieving hemostasis and preventing poor *** remains the most important part with meticulous attention to the distal wire position,particularly with hydrophilic wires.

Sorting radar signal from symmetry clustering perspective

The main function of electronic support measure system is to detect threating signals in order to take countermeasures against them. To accomplish this objective, a process of associating each interleaved pulse with its emitter must be done. This process is termed sorting or de-interleaving. A novel point symmetry based radar sorting (PSBRS) algorithm is addressed. In order to deal with all kinds of radar signals, the symmetry measure distance is used to cluster pulses instead of the conventional Euclidean distance. The reference points of the symmetrical clusters are initialized by the alternative fuzzy c-means (AFCM) algorithm to ameliorate the effects of noise and the false sorting. Besides, the density filtering (DF) algorithm is proposed to discard the noise pulses or clutter. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated under the effects of noise and missing pulses. It has been observed that the PSBRS algorithm can cope with a large number of noise pulses and it is completely independent of missing pulses. Finally, PSBRS is compared with some benchmark algorithms, and the simulation results reveal the feasibility and efficiency of the algorithm.

Deceptive jamming suppression in multistatic radar based on coherent clustering

This paper proposes a suppression method of the deceptive false target(FT) produced by digital radio frequency memory(DRFM) in a multistatic radar system. The simulated deceptive false targets from DRFM cannot be easily discriminated and suppressed with traditional radar systems. Therefore, multistatic radar has attracted considerable interest as it provides improved performance against deception jamming due to several separated receivers. This paper first investigates the received signal model in the presence of multiple false targets in all receivers of the multistatic radar. Then, obtain the propagation time delays of the false targets based on the cross-correlation test of the received signals in different receivers. In doing so, local-density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise(LDBSCAN) is proposed to discriminate the FTs from the physical targets(PTs) after compensating the FTs time delays, where the FTs are approximately coincident with one position, while PTs possess small *** simulations are carried out to demonstrate the feasibility and validness of the proposed method.

The Precautions Efficacy Taken among Health Care Workers While Performing Tracheostomies on COVID-19 Patients: Systematic Review

Background & objectives: Coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) has been declared by World Health Organization as a global pandemic disease in March 2020. Acute respiratory distress syndrome is frequent complication of COVID-19 disease. Tracheostomy is needed in cases of prolonged mechanical ventilation (7 - 10 days) in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Tracheostomies are highly aerosol generating procedures, Otorhinolaryngologists and Health Care Workers (HCWs) are at high risk of virus exposure. The aim of this review is to evaluate the risk of transmission of COVID-19 during tracheostomy procedure, and to review the practical recommendation and scope of the timing to reduce risk of transmission to HCW. Methods: PubMed database was searched between April 2020 to Jan 2021 using the terms “Tracheostomy AND COVID-19 AND Health Care Workers”. All the articles that shared the same aim were screened which resulted in 243 references without duplicates. The title and abstract screening excluded further 202 studies. Eventually 9 full-text studies were included. Results: Five hundred and two COVID-19 patients underwent tracheostomies during the study period. Sixty-three percent of the procedure were done through open technique, while 37% of them were done through percutaneous technique. Seventy-eight percent of them used full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and 44.4% used Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR). Negative Pressure Rooms (NPR) were used in 67%. Conclusion: The studies showed similar negative results on HCW infection despite much variance in using PPE. However, there should be global unified recommendations and guidelines regarding tracheostomies in COVID-19 patients to prevent future HCW infection.

Indentation Creep Behavior and Microstructure of Cu-Ge Ferrites

Cu-Ge ferrite was prepared using the standard ceramic method. The creep rate of polycrystalline Cu1+xGexFe2-2xO4 ferrite has been measured as a function of time at room temperature. It is found that the indentation length increases with the increase of both time and applied load. A regime of individual creep curves is observed for the first and second stages. It is not possible to record the third stage of the curve as usually happened in an ordinary creep test, because fracture of the samples does not occur. The slope is found to increase with increasing germanium and copper content in the steady state region. The high value of n (stress exponent factor) indicates that the dislocation creep is the dominate mechanism. The porosity arrangements developed within the specimens were examined using optical microscope. The results are discussed with regard to models describing the role of the steady state creep rate of metals. The morphology of the samples shows that the porosity is increased by increasing both copper and germanium ions.
