We report for the first time a non-template based facile growth of hexagonal (β) AgI nanorods and nanoplates easily fabricated by rf magnetron sputtering on Ag/sn bilayers upon controlled iodination. The structural and morphological evolution of the β-AgI nanostructures is cha-racterized by X-Ray Diffraction, Atomic Force Microscopy and optical spectroscopy. sput-tering induced disorder in precursor Ag films, high external stress and high defect concentra-tions at the sn-AgI interface particularly facili-tates the development of layered hexagonal structure of β-AgI nanostructures. Extremely sensitive room temperature optical absorbance involving evolution of W1,2 and W3 exciton tran-sitions and emission spectra involving phonon replica corroborate the formation of β-AgI na-nostructures with high defect concentrations, are aimed at improving the efficiency of photo-graphic process and looking at microelec-trodic and optoelectronic applications.

Using satellite-based 10-m surface wind (sW), wind stress (Ws) and sea surface temperature (ssT) anomalies, trends and inter-annual variability during 1993 and 2008 over the southern Ocean (sO) are addressed. The climatological mean (16 years average) indicates that negative wind stress curl diminished (enhanced) between 40°s and 60°s zonal strap region coincide with weak (strong) sW and warm (cold) ssT anomaly during January (July). Annual climatology indicates that strong region of sW divides warmer waters northward with positive wind stress curl (WsCL) and colder waters southward with negative WsCL. The time series anomalies are smoothened with a 12-month running mean filter. The filtered area-mean time series anomalies of zonal and meridional component of sW and ssT have linear trends of -0.0005 ± 0.0003 m/s/decade, 0.0012 ± 0.0002 m/s/decade and -0.00005°C ± 0.0001°C/decade, respectively. The sW anomalies show an increasing trend of 0.0013 ± 0.0002 m/s/decade, with the meridional (zonal) component exhibiting an increasing (decreasing) trend. The meridional component plays a critical role in heat transfer through atmospheric circulation. The Ws and wind stress divergence exhibit increasing trends whereas wind stress curl shows a decreasing trend. The ssT fluctuates close to zero with repeated high and low peaks at an interval of 2 - 3 years. We address the interannual variability by performing EOF analysis on sW, Ws, WsCL and ssT anomalies which have been passed through a 12-month running mean filter. EOF-1 spatial pattern portrays low variances south of 40°s in sW between 25°E and the Drake Passage whereas in Ws it is confined to Pacific Ocean sector of the sO. EOF-2 pattern exhibits high variability along the ACC, which is pronounced in the central Indian sector of the sO in sW and Pacific Ocean sector of the sO in Ws. systemic lupus erythematosus(sLE)is a complex autoimmune syndrome characterized by various co-existing autoantibodies(autoAbs)in patients’***,the full spectrum of autoAbs in sLE has not been comprehensively *** this study,a commercial platform bearing 9400 antigens(ProtoArray)was used to identify autoAbs that were significantly elevated in the sera of sLE *** comparing the autoAb profiles of sLE patients with those of healthy controls,we identified 437 IgG and 1213 IgM autoAbs that the expression levels were significantly increased in sLE(Pse of the ProtoArray platform uncovered over 300 novel autoAbs targeting a broad range of nuclear,cytoplasmic,and membrane *** interaction network analysis revealed that the antigens targeted by the autoAbs were most significantly enriched in cell death,cell cycle,and DNA repair pathways.A group of autoAbs associated with cell apoptosis and DNA repair function,including those targeting APEX1,AURKA,POLB,AGO1,HMGB1,IFIT5,MAPKAPK3,PADI4,RGs3,sRP19,UBE2s,and VRK1,were further validated by ELIsA and Western blot in a larger *** addition,the levels of autoAbs against APEX1,HMGB1,VRK1,AURKA,PADI4,and sRP19 were positively correlated with the level of anti-dsDNA in sLE *** autoAb screening has identified novel autoAbs,which may shed light on potential pathogenic pathways leading to lupus.

Groundwater salinity is a widespread problem around the world with adverse consequences on health, soil quality and overall eco-systems. With the rapidly growing demands of groundwater, its exploitation is also accelerating. It is also changing the flow of the groundwater, which in turn causes ingress of sea water or intrusion of other saline groundwater or polluted water from the surrounding areas. The major consequences are scarcity of water even for domestic use and rise in the level and spread of groundwater salinity. An innovative technique of creating a pool of fresh groundwater within a saline aquifer is developed, which can address the issue. Technique is about recharging the saline aquifer with harvested rain water in such a way that recharged rain water does not get mixed with the existing saline groundwater rather it forms pool of fresh water in the saline aquifer. Water from this pool can be extracted without getting it mixed with saline groundwater. This innovation also eliminates the need of cost intensive provision of water storage structures to store rain water for fulfilling the domestic water needs. Thus, the saline aquifer unsuitable or otherwise useless for groundwater development can be used.

Background: Frey’s procedure involves both drainage and resection of the pancreas in subjects with chronic calcific pancreatitis(CCP). The procedure may affect the pancreatic endocrine function after surgery. The present study was to evaluate the effect of Frey’s procedure on both beta and alpha cell function in CCP ***: Thirty CCP patients who underwent Frey’s procedure were included. According to the glycemic status, patients were divided into the diabetes mellitus(DM), prediabetes, and normal glucose tolerance(NGT) groups. Islet cell function was assessed before and 3 months after ***: At baseline, there was a significant difference in beta cell function among the three groups [NGT group 1.71(1.64–2.07) vs prediabetes group1.50(0.83–1.61) vs DM group 0.33(0.12–0.55), P sulin resistance was not different among them. Post glucose hyperglucagonemia representing alphacell dysfunction during oral glucose tolerance test was present in all of them, but showed no significant difference [NGT group 0.15(0.06–0.31) vs prediabetes group 0.32(0.05–0.70) vs DM group 0.07(0.02–0.18), P = 0.20]. Frey’s procedure did not change beta cell function and insulin resistance. However, alphacell dysfunction deteriorated after surgery [0.10(0.03–0.27) vs 0.33(0.09–0.68), P = 0.004].Conclusions: Although Frey’s procedure does not affect the beta cell function and insulin resistance in CCP patients, the alpha-cell dysfunction deteriorates after surgery.

Nowadays electricity market industry is become a major impact on power system for privatization and deregulation of power in global wise. As per the limitation of the transmission system, the complexity arises and the supply fact will be with demand at the time of balancing. The congestion of the power system is occurring based on the transmission limits of the power desire and amount for operating the system. In order to avoid transmission line congestion, enhanced sTF-LODF method is proposed. It shows the regulated line transmission flow with generating units by implementing renewable energy resources (RER) based on enhanced sTF-LODF in power systems. It avoids the congestion of transmission line frequently in the power system and manages price based on pricing and sensitivity approach, and also manages optimal location of congestion transmission and instability issues of voltage. The congestion management of Locational Marginal Pricing (LMP) is performed with minimum line loss, less cost, line flow, better sensitivity and better performances in optimal power flow and control flow. The efficiency of the proposed power system is analyzed and verified by the simulation results of tested IEEE 14 bus system.

大量的临床实践与案例研究发现胎儿的颈项透明层(NT)增厚不仅与染色体病相关,还和胎儿的染色体微缺失/微重复综合征、胎儿结构异常、某些遗传综合征、胎死宫内等不良妊娠结局密切相关。随着新的基因检测技术的引入,对超声发现NT增厚的胎儿,在产前单基因层面发现胎儿NT增厚的遗传学发病原因,准确评估胎儿病情和预后,为夫妻的再次生育提供理论依据。为了进一步明确胎儿NT增厚在产前诊断中的临床意义以及相应的诊断路径,本文就国内外文献对胎儿NT增厚在产前诊断中的进展进行综述。

Tympanometry, a Prognostic Indicator of Myringoplasty with Assessment of Eustachian Tube Function

Objective: To determine Eustachian tube function in tubotympanic type of chronic ear disease and to correlate Eustachian tube function with pathological change in middle ear mucosa. Materials and Methods: A prospective study of the cases of tubotympanic type of chronic suppurative otitis media was undertaken. Patients were subjected to clinical examination followed by audiometry tests and impedence audiometry to determine eustachian tube functions. Patients were then subjected to myringoplasty and eustachian tube function were then reassessed post operatively. Results: In our study, out of 30 cases who underwent myringoplasty, 21 cases had successful surgical outcome and 9 cases were failed. Out of 24 cases of good Eustachian tube function, 21 cases had successful surgical outcome intends of taking up graft, absence of otorrhea and improvement in hearing. In remaining 3 cases, there was recurrence of otorrhea with central perforation. All the 6 cases with poor Eustachian tube function had surgical failure. Conclusion: The prognosis of the middle ear reconstructive surgery has direct correlation with Eustachian tube functions and Eustachian tube function tests should be a routine investigation in all the cases planned for surgical reconstruction of the middle ear.
