This paper presents an intelligent algorithm for heart diseases diagnosis using phonocardiogram (PCG). The proposed technique consists of four stages: Data acquisition, pre-processing, feature extraction and classification. PAsCAL heart sound database is used in this research. The second stage concerns with removing noise and artifacts from the PCG signals. Feature extraction stage is carried out using discrete wavelet transform (DWT). Finally, artificial neural network (ANN) has been used for classification stage with an overall accuracy 97%.

Equipped with its solver and-in and VBA, Microsoft Excel makes an ideal educational platform for design analyses of fluid-thermal systems. This paper illustrates this capability by considering a common type of these systems;which is the double-pipe heat exchanger. While solver is used for the optimisation analysis, VBA is used for the development of a user-defined function (UDF) that determines the optimum standard-pipe size for the system.

We study the magnetic properties of the double perovskite ruthenate compound sr2YRuO6 using Monte Carlo simulations(MCs).We elaborate the ground state phase diagrams for all possible and stable *** magnetizations and the susceptibilities as a function of temperature for the studied system are also *** effects of the exchange coupling interactions and the crystal field are examined and *** the other hand, since the compound sr2YRuO6 exhibits an antiferromagnetic behavior, we find its Néel temperature, TN≈ 31 K, which is in good agreement with the experimental results in the *** complete this study, the hysteresis loops and the coercive field as a function of the external magnetic field are also obtained for fixed values of the physical parameters.

Aim of the study: To compare effect of asthma care by pharmacist intervention versus routine care on asthma control. Patients and Methods: A 2-month randomised, controlled trial was conducted in outpatient clinics of Ain shams University Hospitals, Cairo, Egypt. Patients were randomly assigned to receive routine care or a pre-defined pharmacist intervention. This intervention was mainly focused on patient education, improving inhalation technique and medication assessment. Primary outcome was the level of asthma control, as assessed by the Asthma Control Questionnaire (ACQ). Results: By the end of the study, intervention patients who received a written action plan significantly improved their ACQ results than routine care group who did not receive a plan (p significantly better in the intervention group. Conclusion: The present study results provide supportive evidence concerning pharmacists’ favourable effects on asthma patient care and support pharmacists as valuable members of the health care team.

25 November 2009 is an unforgettable day for the people in Jeddah, the second largest city in the Kingdom of saudi Arabia (KsA). On that day, Jeddah turned into a disaster zone following a short heavy rainfall event that triggered flash floods leaving 122 fatalities and considerable losses. Numerical experiments using the Pennsylvania state University-National Center for Atmospheric research mesoscale meteorological model (MM5) have been performed to investigate the event. It was caused by a short quasi-stationary mesoscale convective system that developed over Jeddah and lasted for about 8 hours. Rainfall totals computed by the model exceeded 400 mmin some localities in the southern part of Jeddah city and to the north of Jeddah in Thuwal city. The limited available observed rainfall totals, atKingAbdulAzizInternationalAirportand wadiQaws rain gauges, and Jeddah’s weather radar observations corroborates the ability of the model to reproduce the spatial and temporal characteristics of the rainfall event. A synoptic environment characterized by warmRed seasurface temperatures and high humidity in the low levels of the troposphere. A stationary anticyclone centered over the southeast of theArabian Peninsulaconcentrated the water vapour flow to a narrow passage over Jeddah. simulation results suggested that the development of a mesolow by latent heat release, as well as cyclogenesis induced by Al Hejaz escarpments, could have played an important role in enhancing the event by providing low-level convergence and enhanced upslope winds, and upper level atmospheric instability.

series compensation has proven to increase stability in transmission of electric power. On the other hand insertion of series capacitor results in severe subsynchronous torques. The subsynchronous torque leads to generator-turbine shaft damage. Mitigation of subsynchronous transient torques is achieved through resistor bank connected to generator terminals. The insertion of resistor bank is controlled by fuzzy logic controller. The proposed controller has been tested on IEEE First Benchmark Model and it proved to have good damping for the torsional torques.

Isolation and characterization of marine-derived actinomycetes with cytotoxic activity from the Red sea coast

Objective: To isolate and evaluate the cytotoxic activity of different actinomycetes species isolated from the Red sea coast in sharm el-sheikh, ***: Forty actinomycetes strains were isolated from different sediments and seawater samples collected from the Red sea coast in Egypt. Actinomycetes were recognized by morphological and microscopic examinations. Cell viability and cytotoxicity induced by the crude extracts on breast cancer cell lines MDA-MB-231 were assessed using methylene blue assay. The strains with promising cytotoxic activity were identified by sequencing and amplifying the 16 s r RNA genes. The antibacterial activities of the crude extracts were performed using Kirby–Bauer disc diffusion ***: The results indicated that five ethyl acetate extracts exhibited cytotoxicity towards breast cancer cell lines MDA-MB-231. The highest cytotoxic activity was found for the ethyl acetate extracts of EGY2 and EGY39. The isolate EGY3 was identified as a new streptomyces species, while the actinomycete EGY22 was found to be a member of the genus Nocardiopsis sp. The crude extract of the isolate EGY8 showed slightly high antimicrobial activity against different test ***: The results of the present study reveal that marine sediments of the Red sea are a potent source of novel species of actinomycetes. The isolates may be useful in discovery of novel bioactive compounds and an important step in the development of microbial natural product research.

Many surgeons practice prophylactic drainage after cholecystectomy without reliable evidence,this study was conducted to answer the question whether to drain or not to drain after cholecystectomy for acute calculous cholecystitis.A retrospective review of all patients who had cholecystectomy for acute cholecystitis in Aseer Central Hospital,Abha,saudi Arabia,was conducted from April 2010 to April *** were extracted from hospital case *** data included clinical presentation,routine investigations and liver function *** data included excessive adhesions,bleeding,bile leak,and drain *** cases such as pericholecystic collections,mucocele and empyema were also *** who needed therapeutic drainage were *** data included hospital stay,volume of drained fluid,time of drain removal,and drain site *** study included 103 patients allocated into two groups;group A（n = 38） for patients with operative drain insertion and group B（n = 65） for patients without drain *** number of patients with preoperative diagnosis of acute non-complicated cholecystitis was significantly greater in group B（80%） than group A（36.8%）（P 〈 0.001）.Operative time was significantly longer in group *** patients who were converted from laparoscopic to open cholecystectomy were in group *** analysis revealed that hospital stay was significantly（P 〈 0.001） longer in patients with preoperative *** was no added benefit for prophylactic drain insertion after cholecystectomy for acute calculous cholecystitis in non-complicated or in complicated cases.
