The bioinspiration is one of the best ways to make a breakthrough in a field,and particularly in the wetting *** by natural species,such as rose petals and gecko foot,and previous researches,nanotubular structures are prepared here by soft-template electropolymerization in organic solvent and using an original benzotrithiophene with a hydrophilic carboxyl group,as the *** best results are obtained by cyclic voltammetry because of a much higher amount of gas bubbles released with this deposition *** nanoparticles and nanotubes are observed while the water content has an influence on the number of *** if the monomer has hydrophilic carboxyl group,the best films have both high hydrophobicity(apparent water contact angle up to 130.7°)and strong water adhesion(petal effect).These surfaces could be used in future in applications such as water harvesting systems.

Macrophage activation syndrome (MAS), in its secondary form, often complicates rheumatic diseases but rarely constitutes a mode of revelation. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SlE) is a systemic autoimmune disease of unknown etiology that primarily affects women in adulthood. MAS is a serious condition that may be the first presentation of SlE. Here, we report the case of a 4-year-old female with MAS as the primary manifestation of Systemic lupus Erythematosus (SlE). In this case, we outline the characteristics of a complex case of SlE that was initially accompanied with MAS, and also review the literature to discuss the clinical, biological, and therapeutic aspects of this condition.

In this paper,we present a detailed procedure to determine the semiconductor losses for both structures of a shunt STATCOM(Static Compensator),STATCOM based on Current Source Inverter(CSI)and STATCOM based on Voltage Source Inverter(VSI),both used for voltage unbalance *** a first step,we study the VSI-based STATCOM and the CSI-based STATCOM used in high speed railway *** we analyze the design and the sizing of the unbalance compensator in order to obtain an unbalance factor that does not exceed the limits imposed by the standards or by the energy *** that,we compare the performances obtained with both structures VSI-STATCOM and CSI-STATCOM,after calculating the semiconductor power losses in the STATCOM ***,we validate our approach by simulation over real data of unbalance compensation caused by the new high-speed railway in *** use the tools MATlAB/Simulink/Simpowersys for performing our simulations.

Unlike most fluids,granular materials include coexisting solid,liquid or gaseous regions,which produce a rich variety of complex *** flows of grains driven by gravity down inclines occur in nature and in *** describe the granular flow on an inclined surface,several studies were carried *** can cite in particular the description of Saint-Venant which considers a dry granular flow,without cohesion and it only takes into account the substance-substrate friction,this model proposes a simplified form of the granular flow,which depends on the one side on the angle of inclination of the substrate with respect to the horizontal plane and on the other side on the thickness of the substance *** numerical simulation we have developed is first based on the Saint-Venant model,it allowed us to visualize the variation of the speed according to the thickness of the substance(from 0 to H)and to deduce the average speed of the substance on an inclined ***,this restrictive model does not take into account the effect of particle friction on the flow and considers that the thickness H is *** make our simulation more realistic,we opted for the Savage-Hatter *** took into account the variation of the thickness on the particles speed,in addition we have studied the effect of the variation of many parameters on the granular flow,namely the temperature and the roughness of the substrate,the density and the compactness of the substance,we found that the speed of the particles increases and the treatment time decreases with an increase in temperature.

A dynamic model is presented for a chiller working with a composite adsorbent(silica activated carbon/CaCl2)–water pair in a solar-biomass cooling *** main objective is determining a link between two possible evaporator configurations and the refrigerator’s *** two considered evaporators work at different pressure *** related time evolution profiles of temperature,pressure and water content are ***,the effects of hot water inlet temperature and cooling water inlet temperature on the specific cooling capacity(SCP)and coefficient of performance(COP)are predicted by means of numerical *** results show that an increase in the temperature of hot water and a decrease in the temperature of the cooling water allow an increase in COP and *** particular,for a hot water inlet temperature of 85°C and a cooling water inlet temperature of 40°C,the COP and Qev are 0.67 and 4.3 kW,respectively.

The present study was conducted to evaluate the hypolipidemic effects of coffee silver skin(CSS)supplementation in rats fed a highfat diet(HFD).A total of 40 albino rats were used in the present *** groups were as follows:Rats fed a normal diet,N group;high fat diet,HFD group;high fat diet+10%CSS,HFD 10;HFD+15%CSS,HFD 15;HFD+20%CSS,HFD 20;the diets were followed for 8 *** samples were collected at the end of the *** the time of sacrifice,the weights of heart,liver,kidneys,epididymal fat and retroperitoneal fat of the experimental rats with respect to body weight were *** lipid parameter of the serum was recorded and liver and kidney function tests were ***,a histopathological assay was performed on the liver and kidney tissues of the rats fed the tested *** weight gain of the rats fed a HFD supplemented with 10,15 and 20%CSS was∼1.05,1.08 and 1.12 times lower than that of those rats fed HFD,*** incorporation of CSS at a level of 20%reduced the increase in liver,kidney,epididymal fat and retroperitoneal fat weight by 17.84,19.38,47.23 and 18.00%,respectively,compared with HFD *** administration induced considerable increases in alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase and alkaline phosphatase activities compared with the control *** results also indicated that the HFD-fed rats exhibited increased levels of urea,uric acid and creatinine,by∼26.38,8.40 and 6.75%,respectively,compared with the control *** the exception of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,all lipid fractions increased significantly in rats fed a *** administration of a HFD induced marked pathological changes in the liver and kidneys of the ***,the incorporation of various levels of CSS in to a HFD reduced these *** results of the present study illustrate that the incorporation of CSS into HFDs reduces the hyperlipidemia effect of these diets.

We propose a high-order enriched partition of unity finite element method for linear and nonlinear time-dependent diffusion *** solution of this class of problems often exhibits non-smooth features such as steep gradients and boundary layers which can be very challenging to recover using the conventional low-order finite element methods.A class of steady-state exponential functions has been widely used for enrichment and its performance to numerically solve these challenges has been ***,these enrichment functions have been used only in context of the standard h-version refinement or the so-called q-version *** this paper we demonstrate that the p-version refinement can also be a very attractive option in terms of the efficiency and the accuracy in the enriched partition of unity finite element ***,the transient diffusion problem is integrated in time using a semi-implicit scheme and the semi-discrete problem is then integrated in space using the p-version enriched finite *** results are presented for three test examples of timedependent diffusion problems in both homogeneous and heterogeneous *** computed results show the significant improvement when using the p-version refined enriched approximations in the finite element *** addition,these results support our expectations for a robust and high-order accurate enriched partition of unity finite element method.

The influence of cooling rate on the microstructure and mechanical properties of two new ultrahigh-strength steels(UHSSs)with different levels of C,Cr and Ni has been evaluated for the as-cooled and untempered *** UHSS had higher contents of C and Cr,while the other one had a higher Ni *** the basis of dilatation curves,microstructures,macrohardness and microhardness,continuous cooling transformation diagrams were constructed as a guide to heat treatment *** rates(CRs)of 60,1 and 0.01°C/s were selected for more detailed *** characterization was made by laser scanning confocal microscopy,field emission scanning electron microscopy combined with electron backscatter diffraction,electron probe microanalysis and X-ray *** properties were characterized using macrohardness,tensile and Charpy V-notch impact *** with the higher C and Cr contents showed lower transformation temperatures and slower bainite formation kinetics than that with the higher Ni *** cooling rates led to lower volume fractions and carbon contents of retained austenite together with finer prior austenite grain size,as well as effective final grain size and lath *** changes were accompanied by higher yield and tensile *** best combinations of strength and toughness were obtained with martensitic microstructures and by avoiding the formation of granular bainite accompanied by proeutectoid carbides at low *** the cooling rates studied,UHSS with the higher C and Cr contents showed the higher hardness and strength but at the cost of toughness.

Dipper throated optimization(DTO)algorithm is a novel with a very efficient metaheuristic inspired by the dipper throated *** has its unique hunting technique by performing rapid bowing *** show the efficiency of the proposed algorithm,DTO is tested and compared to the algorithms of Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO),Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA),Grey Wolf Optimizer(GWO),and Genetic Algorithm(GA)based on the seven unimodal benchmark ***,ANOVA and Wilcoxon rank-sum tests are performed to confirm the effectiveness of the DTO compared to other optimization ***,to demonstrate the proposed algorithm’s suitability for solving complex realworld issues,DTO is used to solve the feature selection *** strategy of using DTOs as feature selection is evaluated using commonly used data sets from the University of California at Irvine(UCI)*** findings indicate that the DTO outperforms all other algorithms in addressing feature selection issues,demonstrating the proposed algorithm’s capabilities to solve complex real-world situations.
