Tin oxide thin films were deposited by direct current （DC） reactive sputtering at gas pressures of 0.015 mbar - 0.15 mbar. The crystalline structure and surface morphology of the prepared SnO2 films were introduced by X-ray diffraction （XRD） and atomic force microscopy （AFM）. These films showed preferred orientation in the （110） plane. Due to AFM micrographs, the grain size increased non-uniformly as the work.ng gas pressure increased.

Comparison of transvaginal cervical length and modified Bishop's score as predictors for labor induction in nulliparous women

Objective: To compare the transvaginal cervical length (TVCL) to the modified Bishop's score for prediction of successful labor induction in nulliparous women. Methods: A total of 210 nulliparous women who were diagnosed as premature rupture of membranes were recruited in this comparative prospective study, which was carried out in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Ain Shams University, Egypt over two years for labor induction. The studied women were examined by trans-vaginal ultrasound for measurement of the cervical length (CL) and vaginally to calculate the modified Bishop's score, followed by induction of labor. Collected data were analyzed to compare the TVCL to the modified Bishop's score for prediction of successful labor induction in nulliparous women. The success of induction process was defined as vaginal birth after the induction of labor. Results: One hundred and forty-three women of studied women had CL 4;128 of them delivered vaginally (P=0.006). The CL 4 than women with Bishop's score of 曑4 (P=0.01;95% confidence interval: 1.6-4.5). Conclusions: Both TVCL and the modified Bishop's score are complementary tools in pre-induction cervical assessment before induction of labor, while the TVCL at <28 mm is significantly more specific with more positive predictive value as predictor of successful induction than the modified Bishop's score.

Back.round: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease with wide variability in clinical presentation. Bladder dysfunctions are very common in MS patients. Early detection of bladder abnormalities is important to improve the outcome in MS patients. Objectives: The aim of this study is to evaluate the urodynamic detected bladder dysfunctions in relapsing remitting MS patients with mild or without lower urinary tract symptoms. Methods: This is a prospective study for 32 patients with relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis from January 2017 to June 2018. We included patients with mild or without lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) who had mild to moderate disability. Urodynamic studies were performed for all patients. Results: Urodynamic abnormalities were detected in 22 patients (68.75%). Detrusor overactivity (DO) was present alone in 8 patients (25%);DO combined with detrusor external sphincter dyssynergia in 8 patients (25%);DO with low compliant bladder and impaired contractility in another 4 patients (13%) while DO with low complaint bladder in 2 patients (6%). Bladder dysfunction was correlated to high disability score;longer duration of illness;frequent relapses and the presence of LUTS. Conclusion: Urodynamic abnormalities were found in 68.75% of our patients. This highlights the importance of urodynamic studies in the early evaluation of relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis.

The regular occurrence of flash floods over the region of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in the past decade has highlighted the serious need for the development of early warning systems. Radar stations have been installed in Jeddah in the last decade whose active radius covers the Middle Western area of the country. Therefore, radar information and the associated the rainfall estimates are potentially useful components of an effective early warning system. Weather radar can potentially provide high-resolution spatial and temporal rainfall estimates that bring more accuracy to flood warnings as well as having applications in areas with insufficient rainfall stations coverage. Weather radar does not measure rainfall depth directly. An empirical relationship between reflectivity (Z) and rainfall rate (R), called the Z-R relationship (Z = ARb), is generally used to assess the rainfall depth. In this study, the rainfall events during August-September 2007 were analyzed to develop a Z-R relationship using the Spatial Probability Technique (SPT). This technique is based on a basic GIS function and the probability matching method. Using this technique, the Z-R pairs can be analyzed for both linear and empirical power relationships. It is found that the empirical power function is more appropriate to describe Z-R relationship than a linear function for the studied area. The method is applied with some success to the flooding event of November 25, 2009. However, the investigation of the Z-R relationship is only one step in the development of a warning system;further study of other parameters relevant to rainfall and flash flood occurrence is needed.

AIM: To study diagnostic laparoscopy as a tool for excluding donors on the day of surgery in living donor liver transplantation (LDLT).METHODS: This study analyzed prospectively collected data from all potential donors for LDLT. All of the donors were subjected to a three-step donor evaluation protocol at our institution. Step one consisted of a clinical and social evaluation, including a liver profile, hepatitis mark.rs, a renal profile, a complete blood count, and an abdominal ultrasound with Doppler. Step two involved tests to exclude liver diseases and to evaluate the donor’s serological status. This step also included a radiological evaluation of the biliary anatomy and liver vascular anatomy using magnetic resonance cholan-giopanc reatography and a computed tomography (CT) angiogram, respectively. A CT volumetric study was used to calculate the volume of the liver parenchyma. Step three included an ultrasound-guided liver biopsy. Between November 2002 and May 2009, sixty-nine potential living donors were assessed by open exploration prior to harvesting the planned part of the liver. Between the end of May 2009 and October 2010, 30 potential living donors were assessed laparoscopically to determine whether to proceed with the abdominal incision to harvest part of the liver for donation. RESULTS: Ninety-nine living donor liver transplants were attempted at our center between November 2002 and October 2010. Twelve of these procedures were aborted on the day of surgery (12.1%) due to donor findings, and eighty-seven were completed (87.9%). These 87 liver transplants were divided into the following groups: Group A, which included 65 transplants that were performed between November 2002 and May 2009, and Group B, which included 22 transplants that were performed between the end of May 2009 and October 2010. Ecological Sound Control Strategies for Population Suppression of Date Palm Borers Oryctes spp.

Cultural practices, hand collection of larvae, light traps and entomopathogenic fungi were investigated to manage of palm borers Oryctes spp. in date palm orchards during the years 2010-2015. Cultural practices, such as sanitation and pruning frond bases, hand collection of larvae during regular annual service work.and light traps with solar energy were practiced annually in one orchard for five years. In the second orchard, cultural practices were applied for two years, light trap for one year only, and no hand collection of larvae was done during the period. The third orchard was used as a control treatment. Results showed reduction in population density of larvae （91.6% and 53.0%） and adult （76.1% and 41.1%） ofOryects spp. in the 1st and 2nd orchard, respectively The results also demonstrated the impact of moon light phases on the number of Oryctes spp. adults caught by light trap and the existence of an inverse relation between moon light and flight activity of adults. Biological experiments also revealed that entomopathogenic fungi can cause high mortality rate reaching 100% after 29 d. Beauveria bassiana scored higher mortality rate in short time, especially at concentration of 1 × 10^11 conidia/mL with LT50 = 12.75 and LT90 = 20; while, Metarhizium anisopliae caused the higher percentage of malformed adults. The results depicted the effectiveness of some integrated ecological sound control methods for monitoring and population suppression of Oryects spp. in date palm orchards.

Innovative Method to Control Dubas Bug, Ommatissus lybicus （Deberg）（Homoptera： Tropiduchidae） in Date Palm Orchards Using Endophytic Beauveria bassiana Isolates

The main objective of this study was to investigate the presence of natural endophytic Beauveria bassiana within date palm tissues using molecular technique and measure their field efficacies in controlling Dubas bug, Ornmatissus lybicus （Deberg）. Two entomopathogenic B. bassiana isolates （MARD 108 and 100） were isolated from date palm, Phoenix dactylifera L. leaves; in addition, one isolate （MARD 92） originally from soil was identified to have endophytic property. Concentration of 1 × 10^9 conidia/mL of each of three endophytic isolates was used in field experiments targeting Dubas bug nymphs via injection tree trunk.. The results indicated that the high mortality rates reached 92%, 96% and 100% with infliction of the three endophytic isolates after 15 d from the treatment. The successful establishment of the fungal isolates in the date palm tissue was determined using B. bassiana species-specific primer for the first time via using conventional polymerase chain reaction （PCR） amplification technique before and after injection, and the positive gel band representation was the identification signs. The novel results depicted for the first time the presence of natural endophytic B. bassiana isolates within date palm tissues and their field efficacies in controlling Dubas bug, O. lybicus （Deberg） infestation.
