Thermoelectric generators(TEGs)are considered promising devices for waste heat recovery from various *** Seebeck effect can be utilized to generate power using the residual heat emitted by the filter dryer receiver(FDR)of an air conditioning(A/C)system,which would otherwise go to *** study aims to build a set of thermoelectric generators(TEG)to collect the waste heat of the FDR and generate low-power electricity.A novel electrical circuit with two transformers is designed and fabricated to produce a more stable voltage for operation and *** thermoelectric generator(TEGs)was installed on the FDR of the A/C *** test showed that climate conditions have a significant impact on the output power generated from the *** results showed that the peak voltage recorded in the current study is 5.2 V per day(wet,cold,and wind weather)with an output power of 0.2 *** values are acceptable for powering the load and charging a single battery with 3.5 V as the voltage increases battery 0.1 V/20 min charge.A case study of operating the emergency signs in a building was *** current heat recovery system is deemed to be easily installed and can be connected to a network of TEGs to produce more power.

Systematic review of anorectal leiomyosarcoma: Current challenges and recent advances

BACKGROUND The anorectal leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is an aggressive malignant neoplasm. Owing to the rarity of LMSs, an optimal treatment modality has yet to be determined. AIM To collect all published data on anorectal LMS characteristics, explore current treatment options, and review recent cases of postradiation LMS. METhODS A literature search of the PubMed electronic database was conducted using the MeSh terms "rectal neoplasms","anus neoplasms" and "gastrointestinal neoplasms" combined with "leiomyosarcoma". The search was limited to English language and human studies. All available case reports and case series of anal or rectal LMSs that were published from the beginning of January 1996 to May 2017 were included if the diagnosis of LMS had been confirmed by histopathologic examination. Data were analyzed using simple statistics (mean, median, and standard deviation). Independent sample t-test was used to compare means for continuous variables. RESULTS A total of 27 articles reporting on 51 cases of anorectal LMS were identified. Among these cases, 11.7% had undergone previous pelvic radiotherapy (developing LMS at 13-35 years afterwards). Anorectal LMS affected the rectum in 92.2% of the cases, and no sex-based predominance was observed. Surgical resection with negative margins remains the mainstay of treatment, which can be accomplished with wide local excision or radical resection. The local recurrence rate was higher among cases who received wide local excision (30%), as compared to radical resection (20%);however, the overall rate of metastasis was 51.61% regardless of the treatment approach. The use of neoadjuvant radiation lowers the risk of local recurrence compared to adjuvant radiotherapy, and facilitates R0 resection of the tumor. Cases treated with adjuvant chemotherapy showed better rates of distant recurrence and overall survival. A non-relativistic microscopic mean field theory of finite nuclei is investigated where the nucleus is described as a collection of nucleons and delta resonances. The ground state properties of 90Zr nucleus have been investigated at equilibrium and large amplitude compression using a realistic effective baryon-baryon hamiltonian based on Reid Soft Core （RSC） potential. The sensitivity of the ground state properties is studied, such as binding energy, nuclear radius, radial density distribution, and single particle energies to the degree of compression. It is found that the most of increasing in the nuclear energy generated under compression is used to create the massive Δ particles. For 90Zr nucleus under compression at 2.5 times density of the normal nuclear density, the excited nucleons to Δ ＇s are increased sharply up to 14% of the total number of constituents. This result is consistent with the values extracted from relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The single particle energy levels are calculated and their behaviors under compression are examined too. A good agreement between results with effective hamiltonian and the phenomenologieal shell model for the low lying single-particle spectra is obtained. A considerable reduction in compressibility for the nucleus, and softening of the equation of state with the inclusion of the Δ＇s in the nuclear dynamics are suggested by the results.

AIM:To investigate whether predicting patients that might be at a higher risk for complications might serve to improve the selection of patients undergoing colonic ***:A retrospective review of consecutive patients who underwent an attempted self-expandable metal stent(SEMS)insertion for malignant colonic obstruction between November 2006 and March *** patients were either referred for preoperative colonic decompression with the intent of a single surgical procedure,or for palliation of the malignant colorectal obstruction for unresectable ***’s test orχ2test was performed on categorical variables,and the t test for continuous *** and multivariable logistic regression were used to examine the association between independent variables and the presence of complications from SEMS ***:SEMS insertion was attempted in 73 *** comprised 55.71%and the mean age was 67.41±12.41 *** these,65.15%underwent subsequent surgery,while 34.85%received SEMS as palliation for advanced *** tumors were only4.76%.The majority of patients had stageⅣdisease(63.83%),while the remainder had stageⅢ(36.17%).SEMS were successfully inserted in 93.85%(95%CI:87.85%-99.85%).Perforations occurred in 4.10%,SEMS migration in 8.21%,and stent re-occlusion from ingrowth occurred in 2.74%of *** mean duration of follow up for the patients was 13.52±17.48 mo(range 0-73 mo).None of the variables:age,sex,time between the onset of symptoms to SEMS insertion,time between SEMS insertion and surgery,length of the stenosis,location of the stenosis,albumin level,or receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy,could predict the development of complications from either SEMS insertion nor prolonged ***:None of the variables could predict the development of complications or *** studies are required to identify patients who would benefit the most from SEMS.

Carbon dioxide(CO2) flooding is one of the most globally used EOR processes to enhance oil ***,the low gas viscosity and density result in gas channeling and gravity override which lead to poor sweep *** application for mobility control is a promising technology to increase the gas viscosity,lower the mobility and improve the sweep efficiency in the *** is generated in the reservoir by co-injection of surfactant solutions and *** there are many surfactants that can be used for such purpose,their performance with supercritical CO2(ScCO2) is weak causing poor or loss of mobility *** experimental study evaluates a newly developed surfactant(CNF) that was introduced for ScCO2 mobility control in comparison with a common foaming agent,anionic alpha olefin sulfonate(AOS) *** work was divided into three stages:foam static tests,interfacial tension measurements,and foam dynamic *** surfactants were investigated at different *** general,results show that both surfactants are good foaming agents to reduce the mobility of ScCO2 with better performance of CNF *** tests in the presence of crude oil show that the foam life for CNF extends to more than 24 h but less than that for ***,CNF features lower critical micelle concentration(CMC),higher adsorption,and smaller area/molecule at the liquid-air ***,entering,spreading,and bridging coefficients indicate that CNF surfactant produces very stable foam with light crude oil in both deionized and saline water,whereas AOS was stable only in deionized *** all conditions for mobility reduction evaluation,CNF exhibits stronger flow resistance,higher foam viscosity,and higher mobility reduction factor than that of AOS *** addition,CNF and ScCO2 simultaneous injection produced 8.83% higher oil recovery than that of the baseline experiment and 7.87% higher than that of *** drop profiles
