Exploitation of the antibacterial,antibiofilm and antioxidant activities of Salvadora Persica(Miswak)extract

The Salvadora persica(***)*** stick,usually known as miswak,is still being em-ployed as an oral hygiene agent for plaque and gingivitis *** study aims to assess the antibacterial,antibiofilm,antioxidant,and phytochemical profile of *** *** ***-sica was purchased from a local market,grinded and extracted with petroleum *** disk dif-fusion,microdilution,and micro-plate assays were performed to evaluate the antibacterial and an-tibiofilm activities of the prepared extract at different concentrations against𝛽-lactam resistance Streptococcus *** radical scavenging 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPh)and stable radical cationic chromophore,2,2-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate)(ABTS)methods were used to determine their antioxidant *** and spectrometric analyses were performed using gas chromatography-mass(GC-MS)*** minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)of *** extract against𝛽-lactam resistance Streptococcus species ranged from 6.25 to 12.5 mg/*** maximum suppression of biofilm formation by *** extract was observed at MIC with a percentage of 68.66%,against Streptococcus *** *** ex-tract exhibited antioxidant activity with IC 50 of 20μg/mL and 35μg/mL from DPPh and ABTS,*** phytochemical characterization showed the presence of 22 compounds with ma-jor compounds;benzyl isothiocyanate(36.21%)and n-hexadecanoic acid(27.62%).The *** extract exhibited antibacterial activity against𝛽-lactam resistant Streptococcus species,showing a promising natural alternative that could be a treatment option.

Modelling the Psychological Impact of COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia Using Machine Learning

This article aims to assess health habits,safety behaviors,and anxiety factors in the community during the novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19)pandemic in Saudi Arabia based on primary data collected through a questionnaire with 320 *** other words,this paper aims to provide empirical insights into the correlation and the correspondence between sociodemographic factors(gender,nationality,age,citizenship factors,income,and education),and psycho-behavioral effects on individuals in response to the emergence of this new *** focus on the interaction between these variables and their effects,we suggest different methods of analysis,comprising regression trees and support vector machine regression(SVMR)*** to the regression tree results,the age variable plays a predominant role in health habits,safety behaviors,and *** health habit index,which focuses on the extent of behavioral change toward the commitment to use the health and protection methods,is highly affected by gender and age *** average monthly income is also a relevant factor but has contrasting effects during the COVID-19 pandemic *** results of the SVMR model reveal a strong positive effect of income,with R^(2) values of 99.59%,99.93%and 99.88%corresponding to health habits,safety behaviors,and anxiety.

Sulfamic acid functionalized slag for effective removal of organic dye and toxic metal from the aqueous samples

Surface functionalization of blast furnace slag with sulfamic acid(a zwitterion)was performed for the removal of Cr^(3+)and methylene blue dye(MB)from water *** slag functionalization process was optimized using Response Surface Methodology *** analysis of the parameters that include the sulfamic acid amount(A),reaction time(B),and temperature(C)revealed that(A)increase had a negative effect on the adsorption of both pollutants by the zwitterion slag,whereas(B)and(C)increase presented a positive *** the optimum condition of 2 g sulfamic acid amount,50 min reaction time and 37℃ temperature,the prepared slag showed a removal efficiency of more than 90% for both Cr^(3+)and *** characterization by SEM/EDS,FTIR,XPS and surface area analyser,showed an improvement in surface properties and the incorporation of zwitterionic Nh^(2+)and S=O groups of sulfamic *** isotherm and kinetic studies conducted with the zwitterion slag showed the adsorption process was suited to Freundlich isotherm model and pseudo-second-order kinetic *** thermodynamic study conducted revealed the spontaneity of the process based on the calculated negativeΔG(Gibb’s free energy)*** prepared zwitterion slag offered easy regeneration with dilute hCl solution and showed a considerable removal(Cr^(3+):65% and MB:80%)for both pollutants even after 3 cycles of usage.

Polyphenolic rich fraction of Physalis peruviana calyces and its nano emulsion induce apoptosis by caspase 3 up-regulation and G2/M arrest in hepatocellular carcinoma

Phytocompounds found in fruit wastes serve as nature's precious gift to humans in cancer treatment. In this context, the present work aimed to use of Physalis peruviana calyces (PPC) and its nano-emulsion as a novel method in hepatocellular carcinoma treatment. PPC butanolic fraction (PPCBF) was prepared and tested for its total phenol, total flavonoids, and hPLC analysis for phenolics, as well as the in vitro anticancer activity for both normal and nano-emulsion was evaluated. Twenty-four male Sprague-Dawley rats were used;18 rats were administered intraperitoneally diethylnitrosamine (DEN) once (200 mg/kg body weight) in a saline solution. All nutritional parameters, biochemical parameters, and histopathological examinations were assessed. Results revealed that PPCBF and its nano-emulsion showed high anti -hepG2 activity and induced Pre-G1 apoptosis and cell cycle arrest (G2/M phase). Moreover, PPCBF and its nano-emulsion caused up-regulation of caspase-3 mRNA in hepG2, which could indicate that the intrinsic mitochondrial route triggered apoptosis. All the nutritional and biochemical changes were confirmed by histopathological examination. In conclusion, PPC and its nano-emulsion could be serving as a successful and effective drug from waste with a bright future in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (hCC).

Percutaneous Mitral Valvotomy in Children and Adolescents: Immediate and Midterm Results

Objective: To analyze immediate and midterm results of percutaneous mitral valvotomy (PMV) in patients ≤ 18 year, a single centre experience of Sohag university hospital. Methods: Between May 2010 and May 2012, 64 procedures of Inoue technique mitral valvotomy were performed on 64 patients. The mean age was 15.8 ± 2.2 years;75% were females. Results: Success was obtained in 96.8% of patients. Immediate complications were severe mitral regurgitation (3.1%), cardiac tamponade (1.6%) and embolic stroke in (1.6%). Late follow-up was obtained in 93.7% of the patients (at 6 and 24 months). Restenosis developed in 3 patients. Most of the patients had no symptoms at discharge but most of them had NYhA class I to II at 6 months to 2 years follow up. No patients died. Patients who operated early with MVA around 1.4 had best outcome. Conclusion: PMV represents a safe therapeutic option in young patients with mitral valve stenosis. In these patients, recurrence of symptoms and restenosis occurs at an earlier stage than in elderly. Earlier intervention carries better outcome and decreases restenosis rate.

△-Resonances in Ground State Properties of _(20)^(40)Ca Spherical Cold Finite Nucleus at Equilibrium and under Compression

The ground state properties of the spherical nucleus ^40Ca have been investigated by using constrained spherical hartree Fock （CShF） approximation at equilibrium and under high radial compression in a six major shells. The effective baryon-baryon interaction that includes the △（1236） resonance freedom degrees to calculate nuclear properties is used. The nucleon-nucleon （N-N） interaction is based on Reid soft core （RSC） potential. The results of calculations show that much of increase in the nuclear energy generated under compression is used to create the massive △ particles. The number of △ ＇s can be increased to about 2.1% of constituents of nucleus when nuclear density reaches about 1.34 times of normal density. The single particle energy levels are calculated and their behavior under compression is also examined. △ good agreement has been found between current calculations and phenomenological shell model for low lying single-particle spectra. The gap between shells is very clear and L-S coupling become stronger as increasing the static load on the nucleus. The results show a considerable reduction in compressibility when freedom degrees of △＇s are taken into account. It has been found that the total nuclear radial density becomes denser in the interior and less dense in the exterior region of nucleus. The surface of nucleus becomes more and more responsive to compression than outer region.

Entropy and Entanglement in Master Equation of Effective hamiltonian for Jaynes-Cummings Model

In this paper, we analytically solve the master equation for Jaynes-Cummings model in the dispersive regime including phase damping and the field is assumed to be initially in a superposition of coherent states. Using an established entanglement measure based on the negativity of the eigenvalues of the partially transposed density matrix we find a very strong sensitivity of the maximally generated entanglement to the amount of phase damping. Qualitatively this behavior is also reflected in alternative entanglement measures, but the quantitative agreement between different measures depends on the chosen noise model The phase decoherence for this model results in monotonic increase in the total entropy while the atomic sub-entropy keeps its periodic behaviour without any effect.

To meet the rapidly increasing demand for energy and the dramatic depletion of conventional crude oil,it is imperative to utilize sour *** no coke being produced,oxidative desulfurization(ODS)of naphtha lowers its sulfur content and average molecular *** this article,we outline a method for heavy naphtha non-extractive ODS using a very stable *** technique involves the use of a solid catalyst with oxygen gas as the *** necessitated relatively high mixing intensities;hence a three-phase Oscillatory Baffled Reactor(OBR)was *** catalyst was based on the zeolite ZSM-5,prepared from natural kaolin by a series of delamination and activation steps and impregnated with Fe.A TiO2 nanolayer was applied,using the sol-gel method,to prevent rapid *** reactor performance was evaluated to minimize the sulfur content in the naphtha *** to the protective coating,the sulfur conversion stabilized at 90%.The results of this work establish the use of natural clay-based catalysts in a continuous,three-phase ODS,particularly with regard to proving long-term *** also showed that modest ODS can be achieved using an environmentally friendly oxidant,at mild operating conditions,whilst maintaining stability.
