In the contemporary era of technological advancement,smartphones have become an indispensable part of individuals’daily lives,exerting a pervasive *** paper presents an innovative approach to passenger countingonbuses throughthe analysis ofWi-Fi signals emanating frompassengers’mobile *** study seeks to scrutinize the reliability of digital Wi-Fi environments in predicting bus occupancy levels,thereby addressing a crucial aspect of public *** proposed system comprises three crucial elements:Signal capture,data filtration,and the calculation and estimation of passenger *** pivotal findings reveal that the system demonstrates commendable accuracy in estimating passenger counts undermoderate-crowding conditions,with an average deviation of 20%from the ground truth and an accuracy rate ranging from 90%to 100%.This underscores its efficacy in scenarios characterized by moderate levels of ***,in densely crowded conditions,the system exhibits a tendency to overestimate passenger numbers,occasionally doubling the actual *** acknowledging the need for further research to enhance accuracy in crowded conditions,this study presents a pioneering avenue to address a significant concern in public *** implications of the findings are poised to contribute substantially to the enhancement of bus operations and service quality.

To meet the rapidly increasing demand for energy and the dramatic depletion of conventional crude oil,it is imperative to utilize sour *** no coke being produced,oxidative desulfurization(ODS)of naphtha lowers its sulfur content and average molecular *** this article,we outline a method for heavy naphtha non-extractive ODS using a very stable *** technique involves the use of a solid catalyst with oxygen gas as the *** necessitated relatively high mixing intensities;hence a three-phase Oscillatory baffled Reactor(ObR)was *** catalyst was based on the zeolite ZSM-5,prepared from natural kaolin by a series of delamination and activation steps and impregnated with Fe.A TiO2 nanolayer was applied,using the sol-gel method,to prevent rapid *** reactor performance was evaluated to minimize the sulfur content in the naphtha *** to the protective coating,the sulfur conversion stabilized at 90%.The results of this work establish the use of natural clay-based catalysts in a continuous,three-phase ODS,particularly with regard to proving long-term *** also showed that modest ODS can be achieved using an environmentally friendly oxidant,at mild operating conditions,whilst maintaining stability.

Reducing the effects of external disturbance on overhead crane systems is crucial,as they can impair the controller performance and cause excessive vibrations or oscillations of the *** such external disturbance is the inclination of the supporting track of the crane trolley,which causes the system dynamics model to *** open-loop control strategy is widely utilized to control the payload sway motion and generally does not require any alterations in the physical structure of a system or the installation of sensors and/or *** and command shaping are two common open-loop control techniques applied to control overhead *** this paper,the effect of moving an overhead crane system along an inclined supporting track is *** addition,the ability of different types of input-and command-shaping control schemes to suppress the residual vibrations due to trolley track inclination is *** types of input-shaping controllers,which are double-step,zero vibration,and one command waveform(WF)shaper based on a trigonometric function,are used and tested.A linear equation of motion of the overhead crane resting on an inclined surface is developed to simulate the overhead crane and payload *** effectiveness of the different types of open-loop controllers to suppress residual vibrations is verified by both simulation and experimental *** addition,a new WF command shaper is proposed and designed to overcome track inclination while eliminating payload residual vibration.A comprehensive comparative analysis,both numerically and experimentally,is performed on the new proposed shaper to measure its effectiveness in handling inclination when compared to other types of open-loop *** new shaper outperforms other controllers in eliminating payload residual vibration for a wider range of inclination angles.

In this work,a numerical study of the effects of soil-structure interaction(SSI)and granular material-structure interaction(GSI)on the nonlinear response and seismic capacity of flat-bottomed storage silos is conducted.A series of incremental dynamic analyses(IDA)are performed on a case of large reinforced concrete silo using 10 seismic *** IDA results are given by two average IDA capacity curves,which are represented,as well as the seismic capacity of the studied structure,with and without a consideration of the SSI while accounting for the effect of *** curves are used to quantify and evaluate the damage of the studied silo by utilizing two damage indices,one based on dissipated energy and the other on displacement and dissipated *** cumulative energy dissipation curves obtained by the average IDA capacity curves with and without SSI are presented as a function of the base shear,and these curves allow one to obtain the two critical points and the different limit states of the *** is observed that the SSI and GSI significantly influence the seismic response and capacity of the studied structure,particularly at higher levels of ***,the effect of the SSI reduces the damage index of the studied structure by 4%.
